1. I haven't tried yet, but I did cut one end off of a q-tip and turn the other end into a torch with some vaseline and a lighter and launched it. It looked really cool in the dark.
2. sorry, Tapatalk is having trouble with images
3. The demise of my desktop trebuchet was a sad day. That thing was fun. It would launch a peppermint candy around 30'. Here's my new office weapon. It slings a match hard enough to knock over a pack of smokes at 10' away (when I can hit it).
4.
How did the stuff stick to Kydex? What type of glue did you use?
The first one I did for my boss's boss at work using regular contact cement and a ran a heat gun over it just lightly to set the glue without remelting the Kydex. It has held up fantastically for going on a year now. It's not even separating at the edges where you reholster. So I tried one for myself, but experimented with Gorilla glue. That stuff is garbage. It started separating as the glue started drying. I had to peel back all the edges and fix it with contact cement.
5.
I glue the liner down first before going through and doing the punching and stitching.
Amen, that stuff puckers and pinches if you don't get it glued down while flat and then press it until the glue dries. You should have seen my silly butt trying to glue pigskin lining inside of a kydex molding for a hybrid holster. I hadn't mounted it to the leather yet, but it was still hard to get it to contour to the convex portions. Even after I got it where I wanted it, it wanted to pucker as the glue dried. I have several extra square feet of black pigskin, if you need some to practice with. Just shoot me a PM.
6. nice job, especially on the boning...it took the pattern of the gun real well...did you press it too or is that all boning?
7. Kudos on the LC9s. I haven't handled one, but it sounds like the perfect pocket carry package.
8. If I could have only one handgun, it'd be the CZ P-01.
9. Pics or it didn't happen.
10. Nothing I can say could make a dent in the grief you're feeling, but I wish you the best and hope you have nothing but good memories.   I had to put down my 10 yr old dog last week. I doubt I'll ever get to a point where I smile at the joy she gave me without a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye.
11.
I may just get a good quality chrome lined 1 in 9 if my problems persist.
Primary Arms had this one on sale during Labor Day for $80, but even at $100 it's a steal. That is...if all the good things I'm hearing are true.
12. If I read the article right, the state gov't brought this case against them and they awarded the money to themselves. What a freakin' racket!! The expense to make these changes will be passed on to us, so we're actually paying this ridiculous settlement when we shop there. Makes me wonder whose palms Home Depot had to grease to stay out of this legal fiasco.
13. I'd go with the Ruger, even though it's new. For all practical purposes it's an SR9 with a few non-functional changes: 1) wider slide serrations and different dovetails fo the slide (less machining time), 2) removed loaded chamber indicator (an improvement IMO), replaced with inspection port, 3) less expensive matte finish, 4) cardboard box instead of plastic, and 5) one mag instead of 2. Those are the only changes I could find and they knocked about 25% off the price.
14.   Last aquarium I had included Piranha. They were so fun. I'd get a dozen guppies every few weeks to feed them. They'd only kill one at at time. They'd eat the tail fin first, then the pectoral fins to limit their prey's movement. Kind of cool, then they'd eat the rest. What sank and they couldn't eat would get cleaned up by the fresh water lobsters I had in there.
15. Can't do better than 1 and 0, huh?   Wish my Packers had done that good last Thursday.
16.   I put a set of these on my 1st Glock to help me out in IDPA. The guys in my squad teased me, calling them "training wheels", but my first plate rack run was the fastest I'd ran that stage. They're great for speed, but I wasn't very accurate with them on smaller targets.
17. Best sights I've ever had on any gun were on a Glock I used to have. They were TruGlo TFO sights, which have very bright tritium for night and fiber optic rods for day all in one package. They also sit very low on the gun, which means less snagging when you draw. They usually run about $70 to $75 on Amazon.
18.   +1 to this...I may not ever go back to that show. The venue sucks bad enough without the parking fiasco and the miserable heat/humidity.   I went looking for a few missing AR parts for a build and all I left with was 3 stickers and some MRE's.
19. You ain't never gonna get that washed off.
20.     We do't have an income tax here in TN. I don't want to be them, I just want TN to have what they have :D.
21. Unlike a real sales tax holiday, Genesis is still gotta pony up sales tax to the state, so the discount comes from their margins. Since the sales tax holiday is almost a 10% discount from the state, you can still shop around anyway and expect to save even more. The retailer will still have wiggle room, since this savings isn't coming out of their margins. For the retailer, it's a no brainer, sell as much as 6.5 times as much product on a sales tax holiday as on a normal weekend and it's a scheduled event that they can prepare for. Plus, since the customer is getting a discount from the state, further discounts from the retailer means less wasted time with tire-kickers and more time calling in background checks.
22. that was awesome, even my arachnophobic wife loved it
23. Makes me wonder how CCI and other .22LR ammo mfg stock is doing.
24. Apparently they have a sales tax holiday on guns, ammo, and archery supplies this weekend. Why can't TN have something like that?   http://www.myfoxmemphis.com/story/26452138/mississippi-gun-shops-ready-for-sales-tax-holiday-weekend   The article mentions that SC has one too and gun sales went up 650% in a single day.
