Agreed. Overall, they're a great company. They always seem to have their finger on the pulse of the average buyer and have more than their fair share of iconic guns.

I totally agree when it comes to Glock. Afterall, they're as good at marketing as they are at making guns. I question whether Ruger is smart enough to hold back a good idea/product just to maximize sales. Remember, they came out with the LC9 before the LC380.

Coming out with a .38 first, then a .357, and then a .22 before a 9mm seems like a natural progression to me.It makes a lot more sense to me than Glock picking .380 instead of 9mm for the 42.

I'll make sure I pack plenty of aluminum foil, if I ever head up to DC. LOL

Training will be required and participation by districts is not mandatory. Knowing how liberal most principals and superintendents are, I doubt many schools will ever take advantage of this potentially life-saving legislation.

I wonder if all the panic buying worked against the gun industry like Cash For Clunkers worked against the automobile industry. It stirred up artificial demand and suppliers ramped up and got stuck sitting on inventory after the frenzy was over?

When you start buying parts to build one and halfway thru you realize you could buy a name brand rifle for less, you aren't as excited about the price drops as everyone else, LOL.

My wife saw one over here in La Vergne near Priest. The side of the road it came from is a neighborhood behind Kroger, so I figured it was scavenging. That kind of worries me for the bear's sake. I'd hate to see it get shot.

It's been my experience that .45 ACP is the most forgiving cartridge I've ever loaded. If I change OAL due to ogive changes there's barely any difference in accuracy working up the new loads. About the only time I've seen what I'd call a big change in accuracy that took a lot of work to get right was when I first switched to lead bullets. So, I wasn't the least bit surprised when I tried some SPP brass and the load needed no changes at all to be accurate. If I knew I could always get my hands on SPP brass, I'd let myself run out of large primers, just so I'd only have to stock a single kind of primer.

This is a long video, but it's VERY impressive. The did a lot of tests from blasting caps to full-on bonfires to show how little danger there is from loose and boxed ammo.   SPOILER ALERT: The coolest part is that near the end. I feel like a bit of a hypocrite myself on this one. I won't do business with a store that posts a "no guns" sign. I will, however, watch a movie that has an actor/actress in it that I hate for their political beliefs.   The way I rationalize this to myself is to think of the movie as a product, much like a ribeye steak at my favorite restaurant. I don't know the political beliefs of the owner, the manager, and every line cook in the back (nor do I want to know). Knowing the manager or one of the cooks was anti-gun might taint the overall enjoyment of my steak, but in the meantime, ignorance is bliss and the taste is not affected. I don't have the privilege of having this ignorance about movie stars, because these damn busy-body reporters keep asking them questions about their political beliefs instead of their job. If it weren't for these nosey reporters stirring up ####, I could continue to enjoy a good Liam Neeson without thinking about his idiotic views on guns.   Now that I think about it, it's Oh Shoot's fault I can't enjoy Liam Neeson's next movie as much. If he hadn't told me what he read on this tabloid rag, I'd be a happier person. Thank's a lot OS, you ruined Liam Neeson for me...hope you're happy.

At nearly $100 and weighing in at 1/2 pound, this wouldn't make my short list, but it's pretty cool looking. I'm sure the sheer weight of this thing alone would all but eliminate muzzle rise, LOL.

Nice! Also good to know, since this is one of the least expensive options and it comes in a little lighter too (less than an oz, but every little bit helps, especially when it's on the end of the rifle).

This is exactly what I was hoping for, someone with head-to-head comparison experiences. I'd have assumed that for 2 or 3 times the price the pig would be way better. If you can only tell a slight difference, I don't see any reason to shell out the kind of money Noveske is asking for...especially if it adds 4 or 5 oz to the end of my rifle. How's the weight on that KVP comp? With the fluting, I'd suspect it's at least 25-30% lighter. Did you have to use a crush washer?

Thanks guys, now I have 2 more options I didn't know about. This looks promising and it's dirt cheap too. You say it does a good job of directing noise/gas downrange? That KAK flash can looks JUST like the Noveske. I see what you mean about weight though. I need to go back and check the others now to see how heavy they are. Not sure I want to add over 1/4 pound to the end of my barrel.

I want a linear compensator instead of a flash hider/muzzle break. I like the suppressor-like effect it creates by redirecting the sound downrange, but realize it doesn't really suppress the sound. I'd rather splurge on the handguard and stock that I got picked out for now, so the Noveske KX3 that I want will have to wait. But I have been looking at several others that I like pretty good. 1) The Kineti-Tech boasts that it's the best of both worlds with a muzzle break inside of the sleeve. I like this one, but hear you really need a clocking nut to get it tight and time the breaks to point directly to the sides. 2) The Kaw Valley Precision is just a simple linear compensator, but the fluting is kind of cool. 3) The KIES Blast Master is a name brand that I've heard good things about, but it's the ugliest one in the group (if all else is equal, why buy one I think is ugly?). 4) The DPMS Levang is kind of no frills, but popular (from what I've read). It's biggest downside is that you have to have a strap wrench to install it, b/c it has no flats for a wrench. Anyone use any of these?

I added a push-up trigger by drilling a tiny hole and using a modified nail to release the string more smoothly. Yeah, I know it's corny, but I was bored.

The accuser sounds like a liar TO ME. He was minding his own biz, "singing" along to some tunes, when GZ just snaps and threatens him with a gun? Sounds like his story is missing a lot of the escalation and doesn't sound feasible to me. That's not to say there hasn't been enough smoke to suspect fire where the post-Trayvon GZ is concerned. But the story presented doesn't ring true to me.
