  1. I find the anti-Obama jokes funny as hell. In my circle of friends quips like these come up every day, so it hits close to home for me. At least they aren't as mean-spirited as the anti-Bush jokes were.
  2. Sadly, I'll have to do that next Saturday. This weekend was too busy. I'm looking forward to sighting it in.
  3. That's a damn impressive battery life for a CR2032! I'd love to have something this light on mine. Thanks for posting.
  4. I've seen holsters with a cutout in the front for faster draws. What purpose does the side cutout serve? Weight reduction? I like the tan color, BTW. Looks nice.
  5. After all that, I didn't even get to shoot it today. And to add insult to injury, the reason was that my wife dragged me to freakin Walmart. It was too late by the time I got home.
  6. I decided to go with the Kineti-Tech because it's like getting 2 muzzle devices in one. Like this, it's a standard muzzle break: Like this, it's a linear compensator: Plus, I think I think it looks completely bada$$ with this long rail:
  7. I didn't like paying $6 for a no-name crush washer when they are < $3 from Bravo Company, but being impatient has a price.
  8. Yeah, I needed one because the muzzle device I picked is a 2 piece. With the shroud on it acts like a linear compensator. When it's off, it acts like a muzzle break. Without a crush washer the muzzle break was mis-timed by about 45 degrees past side-to-side. I'm about to post pics on the other thread in a few minutes. www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/81877-ar-muzzle-devicesgot-input/
  9. I've had decent luck with this stuff out of my Saiga 7.62. It's pretty cheap too. I read a lot of reviews before I bought some and it's not match grade, but it shoots minute of my ability. http://www.sgammo.com/product/golden-tiger/1000-round-case-762x39-fmj-bt-golden-tiger-124-grain-russian-ammo-limit-2-custo
  10. I lost 2 or 3 knives when I was a kid that I wish I had back. Had an ex that threw one out the car window during an argument once. Otherwise, I can account for the rest. I'm really OCD about my tools though, I'm scared to lay one down out of fear I'll forget where I laid it down. My wife laughs at me, because I'll be cutting cardboard to fit in the dumpster and open my knife, makes some cuts, fold and put it away, then open and use it again over and over again...just the way I'm wired I guess.
  11. Hot Damn!! Just found one at OnTarget in M'boro! $5...and I was heading that way to pickup some other things anyway.
  12. Awesome, that's right over by my work too. Thanks Luke. I know this sounds juvenile, but I've been collecting parts for this build for a couple of months now and having to wait another week to shoot it over a damn $4 part is making me crazy! I want to shoot it NOW!! LOL
  13. Not many seem to have a gunsmith in the shop nowadays, but that's a good idea. I may have to resort to calling around tomorrow morning to see if any have one. That doesn't seem like the kind of part that would be hanging on a display rack in the store somewhere.
  14. My last part (linear compensator) of my AR build came in today. I didn't have the forethought to buy a crush washer with it. So, now I can't go shoot it tomorrow unless I find a place to buy one in the middle TN area. Anyone have any suggestions?
  15. You're not going to be competitive for a while unless you're some kind of phenom. So, the gun isn't going to make much difference in your performance early on. You could start with an M&P Sport until your skill level gets to a point where upgrading your equipment will be the only thing that moves you up in the brackets. By then you could have saved enough to build a gun that will make you competitive and you'd have much be3tter fundamentals..
  16. I think you did a pretty darn good job on the handle wrap. Helluva lot better than I can do. I can't get the hang of paracord wraps at all.
  17. uh oh, I think I've been the "you gotta shoot this" guy before.
  18. as a guy who spends several hours a day at his workbench...there's some pretty cool plans out there for folding workbenches...just saying

Before I started spending all my time here, I used to hang out on the CZ forum a lot. All I heard was great things about this gun. I've wanted one for a while myself. That's a darn good price too.
  20. This is what I was going to suggest. If I read the OP correctly, the muzzle end is what is causing the wear. Seems like the best solution to me too. My pocket holster is starting to wear marks on the front/side of my pants where it rubs against stuff on the outside, but it's not very noticeable yet. I get more wear on my shirts. Almost every shirt I have has holes where the back of the slide is rubbing against stuff. As soon as I noticed, I started tucking my shirt behind my holster when I buckle my seatbelt, but I can't do that at work. Chairs with hard backs and/or arms still rub holes. Par for the course, I guess. Beats being defenseless.

After watching that clip, I'm almost embarrassed to admit that was my favorite show back then.
  22. Ironically, it was a foam missile from a USB launcher in my coffee cup that made me decide to build the trebuchet. It was one of the good launchers with the camera and everything. They are very cool.
  23.   Because of how short the matchstick is and how it has to lay in the channel on top of the crossbow, fletchings would get torn right off. Regardless, you'd be surprised how stable they fly. Occasionally, a warped or malformed one will curve in flight, but the straight ones go pretty darn straight.
  24. I tried to use your link, but the first bounce to FB was a no-go for Chrome on iPad. Will try again from work later.
  25. Why do you think I wear slip-ons?
