I always wondered how this worked too. It makes sense that the insurance company should get the guns, but the cops call you, not the insurance company.

5 years ago my wife went off the deep end with Christmas decorations. She put up 4 trees...I'm not $hi++in' you **four trees**, plus crap in every window, musical trinkets with lights on both mantles, and worst of all that pine tree looking junk she calls garland wrapped around the bannister, so I can't get a handle on the rail going up and down the stairs. Oh, it's a grand ol time for her making my house look like Hurricane Santa hit our place. Then she gets lazy after the holiday and doesn't feel like taking it down til March. My only decoration is a my desert tan tactical battle stocking with added morale patch, knife, survival tools, and since I don't get stocking stuffers any more (apparently I'm too old for toys and too fat for candy), I put a loaded PMag and a spare mag of 9mm HP inside. edit: I promptly take my stocking down and put it away before New Year's Eve

I think that big boxy trigger guard and oversized grip gives the P's an illusion of being more proportional than it is. After looking more closely at some pics, they're about as top-heavy as this thing. I still didn't think anything could make a Hi-Point look sleek.

Growing up, I liked spending summers with my grandparents, but I did not like using the outhouse after dark. Granny carried a coal oil lamp when it was dark. Imagine how happy I was when they got indoor plumbing. :D edit: sorry, this has nothing to do with license plate illumination...I got suckered into the side convo...again

The tree-hugging dirt worshipers won't be happy until we're all riding bicycles, wearing hemp clothing, and sleeping in tents. At least that seems to be the message they spew on Twitter using Starbucks' wi-fi on their iPhones which run off of coal-powered electricity.

Hmm...I see a version 2 in my future.

That's the highest bore axis I recall seeing on a handgun.

Please do, just don't tell the guys at Hedgehog Leatherworks. They want $300 for theirs with pouch and firesteel.

I won't fight the Walmart crazies for BF deals, but if the price was right, I might stand in line for a good deal at Home Depot on tools or Academy on a good scope or bow.

I love making stuff out of leather, but this is my first knife sheath. Also the most complicated leather project I've ever tackled.
-
If it's worthy of carrying that knife, I couldn't ask for more.

I traded for this awesome knife a few weeks ago (thank you again, Gran Torino). I wanted to try and do it justice with an equally cool sheath. So, I prowled around Google images and found something I liked and copied it. Due to the size of the knife and the shape of the blade, I picked something designed for scout carry. I put shock cord on the retention strap, so the strap swings away when drawn from behind my back. I used 15-17 oz leather on the sheath and the harness and 5-6 oz leather on the pouch. The sheath without the harness is almost 3/4" thick, so it's quite monstrous, which I kind of like. No clue what I'll keep in the pouch, but that big space between the straps were begging for one to be added, so I obliged. This is my first crack at making a knife sheath. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, but I wish I'd taken more time on my edge work. Anyway, I'd love to hear what y'all think, good or bad. Comments, suggestions, and gripes are more than welcome. It may help me do better next time.

I bought one of their barrels from Primary Arms. I'm floored with the quality for the price I paid. I talk them up every chance I get, but I didn't deal directly with them. I guess good customer service, quality, price AND speed is too much to ask, LOL. I know I am waaaay too impatient to wait that long.

I wanted to see just how precise my Vortex Strikeforce 2 was this weekend. Using a bipod, I was only able to get 3" groups at 50 yards. I tried with and without the 3x magnifier. I'm far far far from being a crack shot, so some of that is me, but I was pretty darn steady. I'm just saying it's not a precision instrument, because even at that range the dot covered the entire 3" target. That being said...how big is a zombie brain? I'm definitely within MOZ (minute of zombie-brain).

I used a leather wallet-style pocket holster for a long time and switched to the DeSantis after that, but they added too much bulk to wear with some pants. A kydex rig like Oh Shoot is what I use now and it's perfect. Nothing is thinner or offers as much protection. I saw some online that I liked and made my own out of a $5 piece of kydex edit: fixed the link That curved part at the back of the slide lets me push off with my thumb in case I have time to prep the draw

When a skunk comes in my yard, my first thought is typically about rabies. I keep my dogs away until it wanders off or gets chased off by a 300 fps BB. edit: ...not to mention the stink

It won't be because of his quick wits, even though he may "know things". Here's a group of hardened ZA warriors, who you've witnessed kill hundreds of zombies with little or no fear. You confess to lying all that time. You confess to sabotaging the mission multiple times. You admit that all the while you realize good people were dying to save your ass. Then you choose the biggest, strongest, best trained, most violent, guy known anger issues and tell him you're "still smarter than he is". Sounds like something the dumbest guy in the group would do.

I work with a guy, who over torqued his barrel nut to the point where it shredded when he removed it, and his handguard wasn't visibly misaligned. Regardless, even a $22 torque wrench from Harbor Freight is good enough for installing a barrel nut. Got me thinking, I'm lucky that both of the slim handguards I've put on ARs recently have proprietary barrel nuts that don't require timing the gas tube.
-
I get that impression about you, LOL. I prefer a bigger blade too. I need a good auto to replace that ZT.
-
I'm with you, Mike. Shooting the .22 is just so much damn fun. I'm gonna miss it when I run out too. Beats waiting for Obama to appoint and ammo Czar to decide who gets ammo and how much. LOL ;)

The more of his videos I see, the more and more I like this guy. That was an absolutely AWESOME explanation of how to not only write the history books in black and white, so that the Dems can't hide from what his administration stood for, but also to free the Repubs from the "party of NO yoke" that they've been accused of wearing.

I don't want to misunderstand, so can you clarify that? As much as I'd like to think I'm right by being far right, I'm afraid if I told some of my liberal and moderate friends that my side is the only ones upholding the Constitution, they'd see things differently.

I'm part of that really small group, but I'm not self-deluded enough to think my wishes would make America happy. My enemy is NOT the middle, it's the left.
-
I'm not sure who has the steak, who has the chicken, or who is the dog in your analogy, but politicians are going to do whatever gets them re-elected. Right now pandering to the moderates gives them the most bang for the buck. I believe the average far right conservative is too wrapped up in their ideals to even realize they are in the minority. Why on Earth would a Republican alienate 3/4 or more of the country to appease such a small group?

The budget fights can't be timed for political expediency, so those fights will happen and Obama will veto any budget the other side comes up with. Dragging out the confirmations hearings for appointees is also a good thing (sometimes gridlock is good, LOL). If the Republicans are smart, they'll send the Keystone Pipeline bill through in late summer of 2016 when America is sick of summer gas prices. Obama will have to veto it or piss off the tree huggers close to the big election. That will put him in a bad place with the right and the middle. Edit: We just have to be careful not to spoil things for 2016 by being douchebags now.
