I'm sure there's bad batches of components and/or days when a machine needed recalibrating and the like, but I still find it odd how hit and miss stuff like this is. Some rave about how good theirs is and others had just the opposite experience. It even seems to happen, but less often, with the high-end brands.

I've got the one from AIM and love it. Easy to clean, good lubricity, works in every gun I tried it in so far.

I know it's expensive, but the Laserlyte laser cartridge is what really got me hooked on dry fire practice. Seeing that little red dot splash on faces on TV or objects around the room really does it for me. I got the laser activated target later and that made it fresh and fun all over again. Even later my darling wife got me the tip over cans to go with it. It's every bit as fun as going to the range.

I have one of these little guns in .22 WMR and I love mine. It's accurate as hell, has a better trigger than any of my other long guns, only cost me $160 OTD at a gun show, and fits in the backpack in my tool box for emergencies.

I don't carry IWB very often, but when I do it's with a homemade Crossbreed knockoff. For a while I was making one or two a week for friends, co-workers, and I almost always included one for free when I traded or sold a gun. Alien Gear ruined that for me. My cost for materials/hardware alone is close to their selling price. When I run out of material, I'll just buy theirs instead of making my own and save myself the time and money.   Edit: I know they buy their materials and hardware in bulk, but I still don't see how they are making any money unless they sell hundreds of these things every week.

That's where the rubber meets the road it seems. Anything with a paper filter even that little disk in the Aeropress will not only keep the cup "clean" it will also remove all the oils. I put up with the silty "dirt" in the bottom of my cup to keep from losing the oils and flavors, but I do like the smoothness of a pour-over or a chemex.

I had really good luck last year with Vet Guard from Walmart. We gave all 3 dogs a dose in May and again in July and never saw a flea. This year, we forgot about the May dose and by the end of June we were infested. Vet Guard alone didn't work. We had to spray and dust and bathe too. Once they were about gone my wife got some Advantix from the vet just to be sure. I won't ever make the mistake of forgetting that early dose again and will now add pellets to the yard to kill them suckers too. I don't ever want to have to deal with these critters again.

For me a french press is the only way to go. Sure I drink substandard coffee in a pinch, but only in a pinch. Unfortunately, I've gone through several carafes in the past few years. I love them, but they are so delicate. Finally, I found a stainless steel french press by Thermos. Life is good!

I've gotten a link to their site or a video from at least a half dozen people in the past year or less. I'm not as impressed based on some test results I've read: -projectile weight is only 92 gr, too light for 9mm, IMO -actual penetration in calibrated gelating 12.75" (25% less than advertised) -actual fragment spread 3.5"-4.5" (20% less than advertised) -retained core weight is only 48 grains (think heavy 22LR bullet) -retained core diameter is only .36" -wouldn't cycle reliably in a Glock 19 That last one is the ultimate deal breaker. If ammo won't cycle reliably in what many consider to be the benchmark gun for all 9mms, it's a no-go for sure. I won't deny that the superficial wound cavity the "trocars" create at over 1300 fps would be quite messy and painful. Personally, I put more stock in core weight retention and final mushroom diameter. Seems like another solution looking for a problem.

I've only owned one 1911. Turns out they just aren't for me, nothing bad to say about them though. However, while I owned it, I noticed one thing when comparing it to others. The Ruger SR1911 shipped with 2 freaking awesome mags. I played with all kinds of weird loads to see what I liked and/or shot best. During that experimentation, those 2 factory mags were always 100%. I can't say enough good things about them.

My first instinct is with you. If the OP pulled the bullets on a few of each size to weigh them, I bet he'd see a measurable difference in the group weight of each. Of course he could also look at headstamps as well, since some factory ammo uses thinner brass than others (Remington comes to mind with some calibers, like .38 special). Either way, nothing to worry about here. That is, however, a huge difference in ogive on those 2 bullets. I have a few pistols that would not run that fat ogive at the same OAL as the steeper ogive. Since these are clearly different bullets, I'd also put my calipers on a dozen or so of each type to see if there's a difference in the diameters.

Personally, I think the hipsters started growing beards to look tough....they got tired of being bullied by the chess club.

Congrats, indeed! I recently built my first AR too thanks to a lot of help and guidance from a lot of reading here. I found the process almost as fun as shooting the gun, LOL.

I think I work with this guy...apparently he has twin brothers all over the place.
