I got half a case of the 9mm for $6.94/box last weekend and regretted not buying more before I even got out of the store, because they've had none left last 2 times I went in to check.

That would be a bad way to start May, if you were here at home with your loved ones. Having to go through that alone in a foreign country is just plain horrible.   Sorry to hear it, dude. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

  I completely understand that their music may not appeal to someone's personal taste. That is very understandable and I get the same vibe when I hear Tool or Justin Bieber or One Direction or ICP. I just don't have the same knee-jerk sense of hatred that some have for Nickelback. I'm like you, I just change the channel or turn off the radio. Life's too short to waste energy hating anyone besides liberal politicians.

I never understood the near vitriol with which some people hate Nickelback. I think their music is catchy and fun to listen to. Admittedly, many of their songs sound alike, but I didn't hold that against AC/DC or Metallica or Pink Floyd or a slew of others, so I son't hold it against them either. If you're a hater then hate or flame on or whatever you do, though...don't mind me. :hiding:

I got this idea from a link that another TGO member (thanks NoBanStan) sent me. So, I had to try it and they turned out pretty good, IMO.

I've only had to send 2 guns back to the factory in all my years. One was the XD-s recall that I still think was a non-issue. They kept my d@mn gun for almost 3 months. The other was my S&W M&P 15-22. My extractor blew off and was lost at the range one day. S&W replaced my entire BCG and had my gun back in my hands in JUST over 2 weeks. Their customer service dept is a class act.

I had to run on off last year at my house. It looked like it was trying root up under my foundation. I was surprised how fast they could dig. It did a lot of damage before I was able to urge him to go wreck someone else's yard. I can't shoot one in my residential neighborhood, so next time I'm trying the machete.

I thought I wanted a magnifier with my Vortex red dot too until I tried it.   -Without magnification it looks like covering a tennis ball sized target with a tennis ball sized dot.  -With magnification it looks like covering a volleyball sized target with a volleyball sized dot.   On the other hand, I don't like the idea of a scope on a HD rifle. My first choice would be holographic sight. My second choice would be a green laser and BUIS.

I only mentioned it because to me it looked like it might be misaligned by too much for him to be able to turn the barrel nut enough to line up the retaining screw without damaging our misaligning the gas tube. I see what you mean, though.

It looks like the barrel nut has gas tube holes, so you you clearly had to time the gas tube to get it through the barrel nut. I don't see how it could be anything but the mfg drilled the hole off center. I can't imagine you could turn the barrel nut enough to compensate and still line up the gas tube. I'd send the rail back and insist that they pay return shipping.

I agree 100%. I also have a hard time reaching the slide release on a Mossberg with a pistol grip. The beauty of a Mossberg with a stock is that safety, trigger and slide release are optimally located.

I haven't owned a computer in years. I use one at work, but at home all I have is a Gen 3 iPad. It sits in a handy little Logitech bluetooth keyboard cradle, so I don't have to use the onscreen keyboard. I miss not having a mouse sometimes, but more for the right-click than the pointing accuracy. I kind of got used to making the quick un-pinching motion on the screen before I tap a link. It's so easy and I'm so used to it that I can do that almost as fast as I could click with a mouse.

For me, the ergonomics is the first thing I noticed. Like the CZ 75 series, the 97 has that nattural point of aim that I love. The way the grip fees in my hand is the 2nd thing I noticed. I don't know whaat the actual circumferences are, ,so I can only go by how they feel to me. With the thin aluminum grips a CZ 97 doesn't feel any bigger in my hand than a 1911. The P220, on the other hand, feels about as girthy as a Glock 21 in my hand. I found myself having to readjust my grip more after each round with the P220. I think it needs some checkering or something. It could also be that for even for a single stack, it's just too wide for my hands. edit: I forgot to mention...I'm a huge fan of decockers. CZ put theirs in the perfect spot and it works much easier. The P220 is too much of a reach for my thumb. Add the long vertical range of motion and I just can't operate it well with my strong hand.

After giving 1911s a fair shake and trying my best to like the P220 grip, I got a 97 BD. I'm glad I did. I wish they'd make P-01 size version.

Lots of gun owners refer to a break-in period (first couple hundred rounds or so). I don't believe in it, myself. In fact one of my friends seats his 9mm reloads to near the max length and I reload mine about halfway between the min and max. Neither of us have cycling issues in our CZs even when they're new. I think a CZ trigger feels a little gritty out of the box. It doesn't affect reliability, though and it does go away quickly as the fire control group parts get some wear. I recommend using a snap cap and dry fire the problem away before your first range trip.

It's stories like this that make me realize how lucky I am to live in TN. Our gun laws are definitely not perfect, but they could clearly be worse. I hope this failed policy in MD was extremely costly for the state's taxpayers, because they elected the idiots that passed the law. Stupidity SHOULD be expensive.
