From what you've told us about him and the fact that he clearly has a healthy sense of humor like yourself (see General Lee video), I'm looking forward to seeing videos that include your dad. As far as this video goes, you mirrored my reaction to both videos almost 100%. I would only add that in attempting to stop the criminal in the second vdeo, any claim that he was in danger of being run over was due to HIMSELF attempting to step in front of the fleeing vehicle. I'm of the opinion that there are millions of interactions between LEOs and civilians daily and that only a VERY small handful include the officer doing anything wrong. The number that make the news represent such a statistically insignificant proportion of those interactions that drawing a conclusion about cops from those news articles is willfully ignorant and dangerous to the public good.

My wife pays our cable bill and when I mention saving money with TDS, she isn't interested. She's comfortable with their channel lineup and features and doesn't want to switch. Plus, she loves OnDemand and uses it almost daily. I can't persuade her and she pays the bill, so I let my principles be overridden in the interest of marital bliss. Surprisingly, Comcast actually earned back some of my respect after a recent customer service complaint about slow internet speeds this week. The found my problem, admitted it as their fault, and told me how they'd fix it. Turns out my problem was a bad modem/router that I lease from them. In addition to the newest modem/router (they call it an Internet Gateway) here's what they did: bumped my internet tier up from 25 mbps to 150 mbps upgraded my cable package to include more channels added a home phone (that I'll never really use) upgraded my DVR to the new awesome one that records more programs simultaneously and has more storage space lowered my cable bill $30 I used the agent chat feature, so I saved the transcript of our conversation, because I verified at least twice that I'd be able to transfer my current DVR recordings to online storage to make them available on the new DVR and that this new offer/package wasn't just an introductory price. I haven't gotten the new hardware in the mail yet, but if it all works out like they said, I'll be a happy guy. See, that's all MidwayUSA had to do...make it right. If they'd just offered to send me the primers I ordered at a later date when they got them back in stock and honored the price, I'd be telling you guys they screwed up but made it right. Instead they acted like azzhats and made me feel like they were too busy to take my complaint seriously.

Yep, had one in front of my house this summer digging around the foundation of the house. I couldn't shoot it (inside city limits) and couldn't get a good whack at it with a tool (under some bushes), so I just waded into the to shrubs and gave it a few hard stomps/kicks. It ran off to tear up somebody else's yard. Next time, I'll get out the bow. It's illegal to shoot inside the city limits too, but nobody would have known it happened at least.

The kindest thing I can say about the writer of this article is that he is ignorant and misinformed. The truth lies closer to he's an idiot.

What are TGOers putting on their Christmas list this year?
BigK replied to Spots's topic in General Chat
I was on my work laptop...how do you think I feel? Surprisingly, it passed the porn filter. -
Yep, that was them. I'd forgotten about that.

Their order history only goes back 5 years, but I've been a customer MUCH longer than that. Nonetheless, I've placed 23 orders in the last 5 years totaling $1931.88 according to my order history on their site. If I were them, I'd consider me a loyal and valuable customer to lose. I didn't ask for anything free, I merely asked them to honor that price when the stock became available and they still refused.

Glad you finally decided to join us :D Good to see another XD-s owner too. I love mine.

They just opened a location here in Smyrna. I've been pretty loyal to Lavergne Tire, because they've treated me well over the last 10 years, but I'm not above saving a buck. If it's a significant savings, I'll give somebody new a shot at business next time.

Recommend a good place for BBQ and a place for burgers in Nashville
BigK replied to jgradyc's topic in General Chat
Sounds more like the kind of place a VW owners group would book for a get together...granted they can see thru the clouds of emissions coming from their doctored up exhaust systems and their tears. -
Remember the last time one of the characters staggered back up to the group after being gone a while?

If you buy $150 worth of CCI primers and use promo code NOHAZMAT15 they waive the hazmat fee. I'm splitting 10K small pistol primers with a friend for $300.72 shipped. Not bad, IMO. What a bunch of crap! They not only sold me something they didn't have AGAIN (happened once before with them), but they also told me it was shipped and took my money when they knew they already ran out. I placed an order Monday, was charged and told it shipped on Wednesday, and was JUST told today that they oversold the promo and would begin processing my refund. I expect mistakes to be made from time to time, but you make it right when it does happen. They won't even honor the promo price or backorder the items for me. I've said lots of nice things about this company in the past. I take them all back. They'll never see another dime of my money and I'll tell anyone who'll listen what they did.

Recommend a good place for BBQ and a place for burgers in Nashville
BigK replied to jgradyc's topic in General Chat
IMO there's too many good BBQ joints to choose from. You just gotta do a tour, LOL. For my money, the burgers at the Sportsman's Grille in Cool Springs is hard to beat. -
I also have a chupacabra theory, if you wanna hear it. :D

Knife Sheath Prototype - Feedback & Suggestions
BigK replied to Under-No-Pretext's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I didn't think the straight stitching and clean edges looked like an early attempt, but you never know. I have a crappy Tandy rivet setter and mine never stay fastened. I finally gave up on rivers and just stitch where possible. Again, nice work, man. -
I hope that means something, but the director's comments about Glenn just muddied the waters further. I hope the grimace on his face was over seeing them pull the other guy's guts out, but he was all kinds of surrounded. If he survives after what they showed us, I'd be surprised. I thought that same thing. What would draw all the zombies away from a meal so often that there's anything left but bones? My only guess is that once the virus is activated they lose the taste once the bitten die and quit eating.

The only 2 NEW handguns I've owned <$300 that I'm not ashamed of having owned are my Kel-Tec P-32 and a Hi-Point C9. I give both damn high marks.

You gotta lot of nerve telling that story, since YOU are the unnamed other and it was YOUR teenage son doing the actual shooting. Against my better judgement..here ya go:

Knife Sheath Prototype - Feedback & Suggestions
BigK replied to Under-No-Pretext's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I think it looks great. Was this your first sheath? If so, damned impressive! I'm sure this is just a personal preference, but I like the retention strap to be part of the main body of the sheath when possible. I'm always worried that a rivet could work itself loose on the back at the worst possible moment. Also, just curious...did you use a welt inside the stitching to prevent the edge from cutting your stitches when you draw and sheath the knife? I'm kind of fond of using elastic cord attached just before the snap that stretches around the back to where it's anchored through a small hole with a knot. What it does is pull the strap out of the way when you thumb the snap loose. I also add a slit in the strap itself for the elastic cord to rest in when snapped so it doesn't roll off the side of the strap. Just a suggestion. -
Hornady Says “We Change Everything – 10/27/15”
BigK replied to BigK's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
If I could hit "Like" twice, this would be the time to use it!!! -
Reasons I reload (already said by the other guys, I know, but worth repeating): 1. Independence/self-sufficiency...you can't put a price on the self-confidence and pride you get from making something yourself 2. Insulation from political and economic fluctuations in the ammo market...unless you reload you're always a Sandy Hook or lead ban away from not having ammo to shoot 3. Special loads for improved accuracy, training reloads, extreme budget loads, etc...customized loads cost a fortune at retail 4. Saves trips/hassle to find ammo when you want to go shoot...I hate going to Walmart to buy ammo almost as bad as I hate paying twice the price at a gun shop 5. Cost per round for practice ammo is undeniably lower...you may shoot twice as much, but you still spend less per round than you do on factory ammo

Bet the assault car also had fully automatic cruise control and an adjustable butt apparatus too...clearly designed solely for killing.
