1. I wish you better luck than I've had finding a new carrier. Apparently my house is a geographical anomaly. AT&T is the only carrier that has a signal in my area. They don't know it, but I couldn't leave them, if I wanted to.

cheap bow?

Have you given any thought to starting with a recurve bow? They're cheaper and you're less likely to get a bad one. Do you have any friends who know what to watch for on a used compound bow? Aside from obvious cracks it the limbs or riser, there's misaligned pulleys, cracks under the hardware to watch for, stripped out mounts on the riser, etc.     I bought a gorgeous vintage compound with a wood riser at a gun show. It was in perfect shape to be so old. The guy at the bow shop tried to talk me out of pouring any money into 'that old thing', but I like the vintage look and was glad to update it with new accessories. I get a big kick out of shooting the old gal, but like you said, the new models are just amazing. They're almost as easy to shoot as a rifle nowadays, LOL.
3.   I'd give any 2 of my guns to my wife, if it'd get her to the range with me.
4. You clearly have retro taste. Hope you find what you're looking for.
5. The article says this is being PROPOSED by the State Department. The duties of the State Department include the following:   Serves as the President's principal adviser on U.S. foreign policy; Conducts negotiations relating to U.S. foreign affairs; Grants and issues passports to American citizens and exequaturs to foreign consuls in the United States; Advises the President on the appointment of U.S. ambassadors, ministers, consuls, and other diplomatic representatives; Advises the President regarding the acceptance, recall, and dismissal of the representatives of foreign governments; Personally participates in or directs U.S. representatives to international conferences, organizations, and agencies; Negotiates, interprets, and terminates treaties and agreements; Ensures the protection of the U.S. Government to American citizens, property, and interests in foreign countries; Supervises the administration of U.S. immigration laws abroad; Provides information to American citizens regarding the political, economic, social, cultural, and humanitarian conditions in foreign countries; Informs the Congress and American citizens on the conduct of U.S. foreign relations; Promotes beneficial economic intercourse between the United States and other countries; Administers the Department of State; Supervises the Foreign Service of the United States. Somebody tell me where restricting free speech over the internet is in that list, please.
6. Here's a decent video of how to make a vacuum press. I doesn't give specs, but looked pretty simple to me. I think the chocolate is optional, LOL.
7. I built a sandwich press for forming the Kydex, but I prefer to shape by hand using a heat gun and some thick leather gloves. EDIT: added pic of kydex press:
8.   sadly, it will NOT balance against a pencil barrel, let alone a normal barrel with a suppressor...the thing only weighs 5.8 oz. That is my only complaint about it. I had hoped to save weight were I could (lightest handguard I could find, lightest collapsible stock, etc.), but the sacrifice is balance.
9. It's called a Minimalist and it's made by Mission First Tactical. I have one in battleship gray on one of my ARs. They are SUPER light and very comfy. http://missionfirsttactical.com/Products/Battlelink-stocks/BMS EDIT: here is a very popular mod to this stock:
10. I like the overall shape of the knives, especially the blade. How wide would you say they are across the handle?
11. I hope I live long enough to see the 100th anniversary.
12. Hard to believe it's been over 70 years already.   SUPREME HEADQUARTERS ALLIED EXPEDITIONARY FORCE Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force! You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms on other Fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world. Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle hardened. He will fight savagely. But this is the year 1944 ! Much has happened since the Nazi triumphs of 1940-41. The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats, in open battle, man-to-man. Our air offensive has seriously reduced their strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground. Our Home Fronts have given us an superiority in weapons and munitions of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men. The tide has turned! The free men of the world marching together to Victory! I have full confidence in your devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full Victory! Good Luck! And let us all beseech blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking. Dwight D. Eisenhower
13. Happened to me too once. We never had a dishwasher when I was growing up, so I didn't know any better. It was our first apartment and my first dirty dishes. By the time I waded thru the wall-to-wall bubbles in my tiny kitchen to turn off the machine, they were 2 ft deep and my 2 yr old was playing in them, having the time of her life. I'd have killed for a shop vac at that moment, LOL.
14. Welcome to the forum and to TN...the humidity should make you feel right at home, but the mosquitoes will be smaller.
15. You can almost use up half those primers with that much powder. KUDOS for perseverance.
16.   I'm with y'all. I gave up FB a few years ago (about the time I found TGO) and I don't miss it a bit. So, I can't see any reason to start being a twit.
17.   Glad to know I'm not the only one who likes as few rails as possible on my handguard.
18.   I watch as many videos as I can when I'm learning something. Doesn't matter if it's guns, woodworking, cooking, or whatever. By the time I'm ready to try something myself, I feel like I've already done it before. Isn't the internet awesome?   I have been eyeing that ALG v2 rail as well. It's slim and smooth like the UTGs, but even less mass. I like the single built in rails section where everyone needs one. Other than that one, I get to put as many or as few rails where I want them.
19.   The first one I got was a drop-in for my M&P Sport. Second was a 15" free float and I forgot to do the tighten and loosen thing too. It's been perfectly fine. Third is a 12" on my AR pistol and I did remember to tighten and loosen, but can't tell a bit of difference. I assume it's got something to do with making sure the anti-seize compound gets into all the threads, but I'm not positive. I torqued both to exactly 35 ft lbs too. I LOVE the fact that the gas tube didn't have to go through the barrel nut too!   Did you have to use any spacers?
20. The last 3 handguards I've bought have been UTG super slim. I really like them. I think my next will be the keymod version too.

ManCans

that is the coolest idea since the Hoppe's scented air fresheners for your car
22. I like that game. This is the one we use. It has 5/8" circles and we shoot them at 5 yards. Sounds easy, but it's not. Tons of fun though.
23. That's funny!!
24. These quad copters are very impressive. They're already changing things in Hollywood. I could easily see them changing televised sports and they could be really helpful in inspecting areas too dangerous for a human.   I'd like to get one, but there are too many things I want worse at the moment.
25. I thought the video was too close to truth not to be hilarious. Glock could come out with a single shot .25 acp and the fan boys would write glowing reviews and swear it was the best EDC handgun they ever owned.   Not saying they don't make good guns, but everyone knows that if your primary EDC is going to hold less than 10 rounds, they have to be .45 acp :hiding:     Come on...put any Ruger beside any Glock and it will look be like standing Scarlett Johansson  next to Rosie O'Donnell  :puke:
