1.   ^^THIS^^   See what happens...even when a good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun, preventing a mass shooting...somebody, Uber in this case, still jump to the conclusion that the good guy needs to be the one that is disarmed.
2. My father-in-law was in charge of the refueling detail at several Air Force bases before he retired. He's seen them take off/land a lot of times up close...I'm SO jealous. Most awesome aircraft ever built, IMHO.
3. I saw an article this morning on The Firearm Blog about a device called a Grip-Key for holding your keys. It's kind of cool, especially since it has a belt clip and you can customize the kydex colors and add logos. However, they are not cheap ($25-35). It reminded me of some similar devices for sale a few years ago, but not made out of kydex, Since I'm a cheapskate and like tinkering anyway, I made my own. This article got me thinking, I've been carrying these for around a year or 2 like this and don't recall having posted about it yet. Here's some pics: The green one is made from a torx bit set I picked up at Harbor Freight for around $5. I just took the screws out, removed the torx bits, retained the plastic spacers to put between the keys, and stacked them on each end in the order I wanted. The black one is made from some scrap kydex I had leftover from a holster. I just molded it around the fob of my truck key, cut out a hole to push it open, added some chicago screws of varying length to hold keys to my toolbox and a small storage box and drilled a hole for a keyring. Neither is much help for reducing bulk in your pocket but I never put my keys in my pockets anyway, but I like the way it keeps them from jingling.
4.   I appreciate the kind words and am glad to hear that holster is working out for you.
5.   They're better people than I am. I wouldn't spare no breath to tell him how painful and miserable I hope every second of the rest of his life is.   Kudos to them for being so strong and Godly.
6. I'm 100% sure it came from a black panther.

eating rabbits

Talking about rabbits like this, you guys sure stir up some good memories. Some of my best weekends of my life were spent rabbit hunting on Saturdays and cooking/eating the ones we didn't freeze the day before after dressing them. Good times!
8. For that idiot in Washington to stand up there and say this kind of violence doesn't occur in other advanced countries is ludicrous. Bombings in Tel Aviv happen all the time. Our embassy was attacked in Benghazi, a city with over a million residents, but albeit maybe not an "advanced country". Subway bombings have happened in Spain and England. 85 were killed at a church camp in Norway. The list goes on and on.   Obama is an idiot. Violence happens. It always has and it always will.
9. I got this interesting story from Shooting Illustrated this morning. Surefire's newest model of the Fury flashlight now comes with proprietary IntelliBeam Technology. Looks like it'd be pretty handy for some situations, like a work light. Not sure how I feel about it defaulting to the Intellibeam mode, but you judge for yourself. Here's a video:
10. I'm secretly hoping Sansa didn't survive the fall. :hiding:
11. I lost almost 2 pounds between doctor visits recently with no change in my eating habits and no exercise...just switched from my usual .45 acp and a pair of jeans to a Kel-Tec P-32 and a pair of shorts.
12. There's no substitute for slinging lead downrange, but dry-fire practice is a close substitute and it's free. Even better, IMHO, you can get a a laser cartridge (< $80) shoot at stuff in the comfort of your house/garage whenever you have spare time.. I think it helps a lot between range trips. It did a lot for my trigger control on SA/DA pistols.
13. My XD-s came with a paddle holster, double mag holder, at least 2 mags (can't recall if it was 2 or 3), and other accessories in a very nice case. Do they even offer that package anymore? All I've seen lately is the pistol and a mag or 2, but at least the price went way down.
14. I thought this was hilarious, so I told this joke 3 times at work already and only 1 person got it...his wife is a school teacher.
15. I'm with the others, their name is too valuable to let it die. Someone will acquire them to keep the name alive. Just some paperwork is all.
16.   I completely get using light reloads in conjunction with a light recoil spring for a specialty pistol that will never shoot factory ammo. I've done that too.   What I was referring to, but didn't make myself very clear about, are carry guns with springs that light. I'd hope for their sake that they are packing full power hollow points in a carry gun. Seems like that combo would just beat you to death and make quick follow-up shots near impossible, especially if you lack the strength to overcome the limp wristing.
17. Honestly Dolo, I don't see how you can stand to walk in the door of that place. Sounds like they've screwed you over way more times than anyone would be able to tolerate. Either you have the patience of a saint and a far more forgiving nature than me or you're a borderline masochist (just teasing about this latter). Kick them bastards to the curb and take your hard-earned money elsewhere. I bet you'll sleep better.
18.   I haven't had that happen, but I can still feel your pain. I'd be just as mad. Sorry to hear that.
19. Seems to me that it'd require a very light recoil spring to allow you to rack the slide like he does. Somebody tell me why they use such light springs. Seems you'd be increasing recoil to me, since the spring isn't as strong.   I'll give him credit, though, that underhand technique guarantees his fingers won't be in front of the muzzle when he racks the slide. I've seen a BUNCH of people do it overhand and their pinky is in front of the muzzle when they get a grip. Regardless, anyone who knows me knows I'm not a fan of front slide serrations anyway (also don't like tac rails on 1911s either, but I don't want to get that argument started again).
20. I read this article about the technique of racking/ejecting a round with an under-handed grip on the front slide serrations. I've seen it done a lot, so I question how much exposure to guns in general and shooting matches specifically this author has, but it garnered a lot of strong opinions in the comments. Here's the link to the article and the video:   http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2015/06/11/under-barrel-slide-racking/     Curious what you guys think.
21. Kudos on the new pistol.   I know exactly what you mean about letting one get away. I had a REALLY sweet SP-01 that I sold to a friend in need and regretted it fiercely. He promised if he ever got rid of it he'd give me first crack at it. As luck would have it several years later, he was looking for something different and we worked out a trade. I was very glad to have that CZ back.
22. Cotton swabs and pipe cleaners are my go-to pistol cleaning tools.
23.   That's freakin sweet!!
24. I can't believe that woman told her kid to hit the other woman. I hope they charge her with something like child endangerment or contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
25.   Oh yeah, that reminds me. My next door neighbor had T-Mobile and he got a decent signal too. Makes sense since AT&T and T-Mobile use the same kind of radios (GSM) and Verizon and Sprint both use the same (CDMA).
