1. I don't have this EXACT scope, but I do have a Bushnell AR Optics scope (4.5-18 X 40). I know there's better scopes out there, if you have a bundle of cash to spend. I could not be happier with mine, especially for the price. It's super clear, tough as nails, and easy to setup. I'll definitely buy another for my 15-22 when it's time to upgrade from the Simmons that is on it now.
2.   I'm not splitting hairs, but corporations are inanimate objects, incapable of greed or generosity. The people that run them are no more greedy than any of us. Think that's crazy talk? Ask your average consumer what they wish the price for a good/service was. Bet they say $0.00 or some other price too ridiculously low to cover costs every time. The consumers would consume all they could at these prices with no consideration for the health of the economy, because they are ignorant of the consequences. That's greed too, like it or not.   At least the people who run the corporations are knowledgeable enough to temper their greed with sustainability. They don't charge $1B for a car, because the market won't support the price. The only way an economic system can support itself is when EVERY party involved acts in their own best interest. Sometimes that self-interest includes the health of the market, which only the supply side of our supply and demand economy ever thinks of.
3. My wife and I watched this video yesterday and couldn't believe the stupidity involved. I can't believe they hassled this guy for nothing instead of arresting the woman who calls the police and fire dept. when he grills in his back yard. She knows better.   I can tell the homeowner is perturbed, but he was a lot calmer than I'd have been over this ridiculousness.
4.   Never stopped you before.   LOL, just kidding.
5.   same trek for me...big triangle from work in Franklin to Shoney's in Donelson and back home in La Vergne, but worth it. Had a great time last time we did this.
6.   I have that same barrel in 5.56 on my AR pistol. It has more than exceeded my expectations for a 10.5" barrel. Dolomite recommended this brand to me a year or more back and I'm glad he did. They're hard to beat for the money.

Search for Accuracy

That's much better groups than I would have ever expected OOTB, even with handloads. Kudos...seriously.
8. Like the video both times too and agree that the controversy is hilarious.    To me, it's similar to the fact that a Native American with a swastika tattoo does NOT mean the same thing as a neo-Nazi with a Swastika tattoo, but a Jewish person may not appreciate the difference.

Search for Accuracy

You're asking for 0.5 MOA accuracy from a platform traditionally capable of 3-4 MOA accuracy.   If you have an older M&P15 (from when they had the really good barrels) AND you free-floated the handguard AND you installed an upgraded trigger (like a Geiselle or Timney) AND shot match grade ammo, you might cut that group size in half. That translates to around 4" groups @ 200 yds.    That's just my non-expert opinion. I'm positive someone more experienced and knowledgeable will weigh in with more details.
10. I had a couple of my CZ's cerakoted with those same 2 colors a few years back. The hack that did the work didn't do anywhere NEAR this good a job.   That looks great.
11. beautiful specimen, if you ask me   I'd be proud to have this feller in my back yard   http://www.tennsnakes.org/tn_ratsnake.htm
12. I asked about these at Outpost Armory today and was told they can't get their hands on one yet.
13. That's one of the things I read...something special about the mag release makes it work with numerous brands of mags. That's odd for Ruger...they're notorious for making rifles that only take proprietary mags.
14. I got an email from Ruger about this rifle yesterday, glad to see a conversation about it already. I love the way it looks and 0.5 MOA out of the box is impressive. I hope to hear more about it.
15. BTW...as best I recall from hunter education class about 30 yrs ago, TWRA only requires that the bow be capable of casting an arrow 150 yards.
16. I couldn't agree more, robtattoo.   Sometimes I wonder if it's machismo that makes guys want a 70# bow or if the bow industry is just that good at convincing the market that today's deer will only die if the arrow is going 330 feet per second. I can sling a lot more practice arrows with 45-55# bow before I get tired too.
17. I can't believe nobody suggested this little gem yet as a 22 mag suppressor host.
18. Glad to hear the authorities are involved. I hope they find the guy and figure out something to charge him with.
19. A double set of Sam Brown buttons with elastic cord to pull the strap back when released might be an easier way to go. The Sam Brown buttons just screw together anyway. Here's a pic of what I mean.
20. For traditional line 24 snaps the 0.06" kydex is so thin that you'll actually leave more room to mushroom out the post, which should last longer. On the last sheath I made I used a t-nut and a hex head screw like gjohnsoniv suggested. It's much sturdier in the long run, but it's darn hard to find a screw head that will go into the recess of the male stud and not stick up. I had to carry the stud down to Lowe's and dig through the screws until I found one that fit. I wound up having to grind off some of the head of the screw to get the profile low enough to sort of countersink down into the snap.   I wish I'd made a note of what t-nut and screw I used, but I hope that helps. Finding the right hardware is always the hardest part of any project I tackle.
21. Absolutely gorgeous work! Wish the plumber and lawnmower repair guys hadn't just drained me dry.
22. I hope you don't get tired of hearing what a fan I am of your work, sybo.   Not to derail this thread, but have you seen the TV show, "Forged in Fire"  on the History channel yet? Seems like something anyone who makes knives would enjoy.
23.   I know exactly what you mean. Losing some sucks after all that work trimming and sizing and deburring and all. Even when you manage to get 4 out of 5 of my homemade Makarovs back home safe, sorting from regular 9mm takes a keen eye. I finally got tired of the sorting and tossed the clean Makarov brass in some red machinist dye. It worked like a charm and stays on for a long time.   added: It's a lot easier to ask folks at the range to leave the red ones alone too.
24. I hope folks who are on the fence about giving IDPA a chance do NOT read this. Had I read about stuff like this before my first match, I might not have never have gone. It's not really like this 999 times out of 1000. It's lots of fun and as good a way to measure your skills as anything I've tried yet.
25.   I agree 100%. Something has to give and running away from the problem is NOT the answer. It doesn't take courage to run away and leave problems behind. It takes real courage to stay and fix those problems. That's part of what's wrong with Mexico.   One of my biggest problems with my fellow conservatives in this country is that they are more idealistic than the liberals. It's rare the left stays home during an election to teach their party a lesson, but we saw the right do it 2 elections in a row. We can't reset the government if that many people withdraw from the process.
