I hope that means something, but the director's comments about Glenn just muddied the waters further. I hope the grimace on his face was over seeing them pull the other guy's guts out, but he was all kinds of surrounded. If he survives after what they showed us, I'd be surprised. I thought that same thing. What would draw all the zombies away from a meal so often that there's anything left but bones? My only guess is that once the virus is activated they lose the taste once the bitten die and quit eating.

The only 2 NEW handguns I've owned <$300 that I'm not ashamed of having owned are my Kel-Tec P-32 and a Hi-Point C9. I give both damn high marks.

You gotta lot of nerve telling that story, since YOU are the unnamed other and it was YOUR teenage son doing the actual shooting. Against my better judgement..here ya go:

Knife Sheath Prototype - Feedback & Suggestions
BigK replied to East_TN_Patriot's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I think it looks great. Was this your first sheath? If so, damned impressive! I'm sure this is just a personal preference, but I like the retention strap to be part of the main body of the sheath when possible. I'm always worried that a rivet could work itself loose on the back at the worst possible moment. Also, just curious...did you use a welt inside the stitching to prevent the edge from cutting your stitches when you draw and sheath the knife? I'm kind of fond of using elastic cord attached just before the snap that stretches around the back to where it's anchored through a small hole with a knot. What it does is pull the strap out of the way when you thumb the snap loose. I also add a slit in the strap itself for the elastic cord to rest in when snapped so it doesn't roll off the side of the strap. Just a suggestion. -
Hornady Says “We Change Everything – 10/27/15”

If I could hit "Like" twice, this would be the time to use it!!! -
Reasons I reload (already said by the other guys, I know, but worth repeating): 1. Independence/self-sufficiency...you can't put a price on the self-confidence and pride you get from making something yourself 2. Insulation from political and economic fluctuations in the ammo market...unless you reload you're always a Sandy Hook or lead ban away from not having ammo to shoot 3. Special loads for improved accuracy, training reloads, extreme budget loads, etc...customized loads cost a fortune at retail 4. Saves trips/hassle to find ammo when you want to go shoot...I hate going to Walmart to buy ammo almost as bad as I hate paying twice the price at a gun shop 5. Cost per round for practice ammo is undeniably lower...you may shoot twice as much, but you still spend less per round than you do on factory ammo

Bet the assault car also had fully automatic cruise control and an adjustable butt apparatus too...clearly designed solely for killing.

It won't be funny when my wife finds out. She already can't believe I haven't burned the house down yet. Of course she'd never know if SOMEBODY (hint: the only other eye witness) hadn't told my big mouthed daughter about it last night.
-
yeah, it definitely wasn't funny when it happened...I'm glad I can laugh about it now
-
Yeah, that's exactly how it happened...I shouted out "No innocents shall come to harm while mine enchanted hammer can still be raised in their defense!" and swung my mighty rubber mallet to free the trapped primers.

I had NoBanStan over today doing some reloading and we noticed some finished rounds were missing primers. I took the shellplate and primer feeder off the Dillon XL 650 to clean off the Win231 that leaked out and to inspect the primer feeder. Nothing seemed amiss, so we reassembled and put in some more primers and tried to hand cycle the feeder...nothing. When we took the feeder tube back off it was apparent that a primer was stuck inside. Being smart we dumped primers out of both ends before going at it with a wood dowel. After "gently" pushing the stuck primer from both ends, I was able to push a stuck primer about 2-3" with the dowel before it just wouldn't go any farther. That's when we decided to measure the depth of the stuck primer from both ends and found out there was actually 2 primers stuck in there. One was 2" into one side and the other was 7.5" into the other side. The bonus was that there was at least one loose primer rattling in between them. At this point a mere mortal would have called it a day and ordered a replacement primer feed tube from Dillon, but NOOOOOOO...I wasn't being out-smarted by a metal tube filled with explosives. I decided to proceed with a plan that under normal circumstances would require a 6 pack of beer, an audience, and the announcement, "y'all watch this". I stuck the SOFT PINE dowel back into the tube set it on the work bench and gave the tube a couple of what I thought were LIGHT taps with a rubber mallet. It wasn't until I heard a loud kaboom and NoBanStan screaming like a 12 yr old girl at a Justin Beiber concert that I realized this was a VERY bad idea. Thankfully nobody was hurt and nothing thing was damaged besides my ego and NobanStan's underwear. Only one primer went off. There was no chain reaction of exploding large pistol primers and the tube didn't disintegrate into a dozen pieces of flying shrapnel. The wooden dowel kind of resembles the coyote's face after a failed attempt to blow up the road runner and the tube is scorched pretty bad inside. Suffice it to say, I have lost all interest in removing the stuck primers to salvage the primer feed tube and lessons were learned, albeit the hard way. So, if you find yourself with one or more primers stuck in your primer feed tube and you absolutely MUST get them out...don't say you weren't warned.

I hope it's civilian legal exploding ammo :D -
You gotta love a good marketing plan. I think these guys do a better than average job on advertising. I don't really expect anything Earth shattering from this, but I'll admit that I'm curious.

I agree 100% You posted this pic a long time back and got me sold on Kydex pocket holsters. Thanks for the idea. I've made 2 for myself (P-32 and XD-s) and 1 for a co-worker (Shield) at my last job. If you make them right, nothing could be thinner and mine has NEVER come out of my pocket on accident. In fact, It's often a chore to remove it on purpose.

Impressive set of test data. That took a lot of time to gather and present. Glad to see my carry ammo in the upper middle to lower top of the penetration/expansion numbers.

I'm glad y'all brought up Rick getting cut with the knife. This whole turning zombie process is either confusing me or the show has screwed up the explanation. Rick was covered with Zombie blood at the time he cut himself, so the blood surely got into the cut, but will he turn due only to exchange of bodily fluids? I'm guess not, because I've also heard them say that only a bite (presumably saliva) can make you turn. If that's the case, why does a bite even matter? They're all infected anyway or they wouldn't turn when they die due to injury, sickness etc. How could a non-fatal bite cause an infected person to turn? I don't know whether I missed something or if this is part of the suspension of belief that comes with a show about zombies.

For eight hundred fifty gazillionth time Carol showed what a completely well-rounded badass she has become. She's more crafty, ruthless, fearless, and wise than any 3 characters combined. (I'd have sworn she only set that timer for 15 minutes, because my wife, who can't boil toast...as she puts it, rolled her eyes at me when I said that ain't gonna be done in 15 minutes.) I have a couple of questions: 1. From Talking Dead: Who's got the best grasp on post-ZA life, Rick/Carol or Morgan? 2. My wife's question: How the heck did Morgan get back to town so fast, but Rick and them won't make it back til next week?

I haven't owned a Glock in a while, so I was not aware Glock corrected the unsupported chamber issue. I know back when I was shooting one I could easily tell which brass came from my Glock and which came from my other guns. I used blue machinist dye or a blue marker on the headstamps to mark them before resizing and would toss them after they went through the Glock twice. Too much stretching of the brass in the most critical area for my taste. In all fairness, I may be overly paranoid.

I've watched a friend of mine fly his DJI Phantom...it was impressive. From the ground you can't tell where the camera is pointing. So, blindly assuming that a drone flying near you means the pilot is specifically filming you sounds a little paranoid and narcissistic IMO. I mean it's possible, I guess, but unless it's hovering at your window, it's kind of a stretch.

Wow, just..wow!!

Sitting on that stool, he's almost as tall as you are standing. To put it in perspective, he's 2" taller than Michael Jordan. :o: I met him at an RK Show back when they still had them in Hendersonville...very nice guy. He's an asset to the shooting community.

I always wanted a remote controlled plane or helicopter when I was a kid...still do, especially now that they can take pics and video. When it was a toy I don't recall there being so much paranoia. Now that they're called drones everyone acts like the sky is falling. :panic:

Aside from the mfg that prohibit discounting (Glock comes to mind), some shops make more money on a transfer than they do on a sale. Other shops (FGS comes to mind) the mark-up is at or above MSRP. Definitely my favorite local shop now.

Say what you will, but he must know a thing or 2 about sharpening a blade. Most of those cuts were pretty clean.
