  1. I always wanted to go too, but the drive makes me change my mind.
  2.   There are a few double action striker fired pistols out there. Walther makes a couple and some of the Taurus models were DA strikers too.
  3.   I'd be fine with all the liberals staying home this time :D.
  4.   Seems like this has been the theme in the last 2 GOP primaries. We get a candidate the majority doesn't want, because the conservatives are splitting hairs over which of the half dozen conservative candidates is their ideal guy. Meanwhile the moderate walks away with the plurality.   Regardless, a moderate Republican would make a better president than ANY Democrat. I can't stay home in the general election if Trump gets the GOP nomination, it guarantees we get a Democrat. In what seems like the unlikely chance that Trump doesn't win the GOP nomination, I think he'll run as an independent. I don't think it will be because of any tin foil hat conspiracy that he's Hillary's boy or anything like that. I just think he thinks that highly of himself and doesn't care what it costs the GOP and the conservative voters.
  5.   As soon as I found that truck, I'd have hauled a$$ back to Alexandria to secure my spoils. A bird in the hand and all, right? Plus, I can't believe how anti-tactical Rick and Daryl were with Ninjesus/Jesse. He get close enough to kill them when he swiped the keys. How could you let a stranger anywhere near you in their world? Then to make matters worse, they go running toward what sounds like superior fire with nothing but revolvers.   ...not that anything else with Rick and Daryl made any sense for the whole damn episode...jeez! freaking idiots!
  6.   So, if someone likes Trump, they're stupid and short-sighted? I'd reserve those kind of labels for Hillary/Sanders supporters. Out of curiosity, if Trump wins the nomination, are you saying you won't support him over the other side?     Go Cruz
  7. There's several basic categories, depends on what you want the device to do.   For instance, when I built an AR pistol, the last thing I wanted was more noise and blast near my face, so I chose a linear compensator. It directs some noise and a lot of muzzle blast downrange. For my basic playing around AR the standard birdcage flash hider was fine with me. If I were putting together a 3-gun rifle, I'd get a really good muzzle break that would help with recoil.   That's just my input, I'm somebody will come along and suggest something specific.
  8. I'm not making excuses for them, but they get no reward or recognition for working any harder and they have to be in some kind of well-connected click to ever get promoted.. That will only motivate someone to do as little as possible to keep from getting fired. Some jobs are geared toward attracting people with very little motivation and desire.
  9. I have their Slide Guard holster for my CZ P-01 and it's the best made holster I've owned. Very impressive craftsmanship. I just never wear it because it rides too high, which causes it to get pushed outward by some by tactical thermal padding (i.e. jelly roll).
  10. I'm sick of comic book spoilers, guys.   I wish you guys would quit posting that stuff here. This thread is about the TV show, NOT THE COMICS. Have some decency.

    AR Build Question

Correct me, if I'm wrong. Sounds like you want a handguard that will cover/hide the gas block. Judging from the pic you have a carbine length gas system, so you'll be looking for a 12" or 13" handguard. There's a lot more options with a free float handguard.   If this is your rifle for having fun at the range and you aren't trying to impress everyone, just look around eBay and get one in your price range. Look for one that's 13" or longer, make sure it comes with a barrel nut, and be wary of a super slim design (it may not fit over your gas block, so check the inner diameter carefully and match it against the height of your gas block). You can find quite a few between $50 and $75 that will serve their purpose long enough for you to change your mind again later and go another route (most of us do).   If this is your battle rifle and/or the one you strap on to impress your neighbors while you mow the yard, you may want a reputable name brand that is built a little sturdier. It'll be better built, will last longer, have better mounting hardware, and will have stronger picatinny rails. Your options start with a very serviceable and well made UTG rail or Mid-West Industries and go all the way up to the barely more functional but much more prestigious brands like Noveske and Geissele. This is your only real option, if you ask the AR snobs over on AR15.com, who think they are all high-speed operators.   In the end, it's your Barbie doll, you can dress her up for the prom or your can dress her up for around the house...totally your call.
  12. I appreciate the advice, fellas. Thanks for you input.   This house was built in 1993. I bought it in 2009 or as I like to put it...right when everything started breaking. I've had to replace a dishwasher, a roof, both the upstairs and downstairs HVAC units, a garage door and motor, and at least half a dozen plumbing repair calls. Luckily I bought when the market was down and only paid around $42/ sq ft.   Sounds like I'd need at least 2 outlets rewired with new breakers. That sucks, because one is overhead and the other is about as far away as you could get from the panel and still be in the garage. I guess I'll hit up Angie's List and see about getting a few quotes from electricians. I'm guessing this will be expensive.
  13. If anyone knows enough about electrical wiring to answer a question, I'd really appreciate it.   I am constantly tripping a breaker in my garage. Some common examples: If I have a heater on and try to use the shop vac, the breaker trips. Sometimes I'll be warming a piece of Kydex in my small toaster oven and the breaker trips if the freezer or mini fridge cycle up. I can't run my table saw with the shop vac attached without tripping the breaker It didn't occur to me until tonight to check the circuit breaker. I was shocked to find it's only a 15A breaker. Am I crazy for thinking that is a ridiculously small for all 5 of my garage plugs? I mean how can a man get anything done with only 1800 watts to work with at a time?   Do you think it's safe to change that out for a 30A circuit breaker?
  14. I'm surprised, but glad to see GM did the right thing for now.   I know my company's official policy on weapons on their premises. I also know what "concealed" means and weigh those variables carefully on a daily basis. I hope if something similar happened to me that my company would act appropriately as well.
  15.   I tend to agree.   The biggest damage caused by idiotic excuses like that is that it fuels the libtard, pinko-commie, dumbocrat logic that guns are innately dangerous. They hear "it went off" and don't bother applying any logic. RESULT: "The gun just shot him all by itself."
  16. will you be doing kitchen knives?
  17. I had Gerber back when they made good stuff 20+ yrs ago. It was nice, loved the slide out pliers. I think I only carried it around 3 years, because it decided to take a swim at Percy Priest off the side of my dad's boat.   I replaced it with a Leatherman Fuse that has held up to medium usage for going on 20 years. I liked it so much I finally upgraded to a MUT last year and will never be without one again. I think it's the best multitool I've ever seen.
  18. I won't even stay in the room for halftime. I'd even rather clean up the kitchen from the food than to sit through what halftime has become.   On the other hand, my wife suffers thru the football to see the commercials and the halftime spectacle. She has a fit when I back up to see a play 2 or 3 times, because it means I'm going to make up time by skipping a commercial. I tell her I'll save the recording and she can skip over all the football she wants, LOL.
  19. I saw who was about to sing and skipped forward on the DVR. I'll have to take y'all's word for it.
  20.   I guess I'm not the humane type, because 4" stones are too quick for the sickos you named. Paper cuts and lemon juice to their offending body parts followed by waterboarding, bamboo splinters under the finger/toe nails....well, you get the picture. Some people deserve to suffer slowly for their crimes.

    HELP!!

that reminds me of the quote: "I DON'T WANT TO BELONG TO ANY CLUB THAT WILL ACCEPT PEOPLE LIKE ME AS A MEMBER". Was that Groucho?

    Cz and sig?

I rarely hunt down a snap cap before I dry fire any of my CZs, so this is all news to me. I've dry fired my P-01 alone thousands and thousands of times. Maybe it will eventually break it. Who knows? I can't agree that damaging a roll pin is the same as breaking the gun.     Along with the awesomeness of a hammer and sear, which you might chalk up to personal preference, you get double strike capability, the option of having a decocker, and best of all you don't have to rack the slide to reset the trigger.

    Cz and sig?

Last time  heard someone say don't dry fire a CZ, they were talking about the CZ52 and some of the early CZ70 models. Metallurgy has improved a lot since then. Nonetheless, I'd be interested to hear what might make CZ more prone to dry fire damage than another pistol.
  24. I deprimed a cartridge and shoved a piece of leather down into the primer pocket, because I'm way too cheap to pay for a snap cap, LOL.
  25.   I did without a garage for nearly 40 years, so I know what you mean. I could never go back...it's the only room in the house that's JUST mine :D.
