I'll cut extra stuff to dull my knives in the meantime :D Seriously though, any thoughts on how the logistics of this service will work? I'm just around the corner from you in La Vergne, so sharpening by appointment while I wait would be cool.

The wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the episode. I love how they showed Rick all cocky and feeling tough early. He'd just whooped some Saviour a$$, got out unscathed, and showed them who was boss. He drove away from the first roadblock feeling all magnanimous, like he'd just spared their lives. Each subsequent roadblock he felt more scared, less in control, and more blocked in. They abandoned the RV STILL thinking they'd out-smarted Negan only to find out they'd been played the whole time and had been herded like sheep straight to the wolves. When he was captured by the Terminus cannibals, he was all righteous and tough, but he's finally met a vastly superior foe. Rick was broken by the end and helpless.

It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to tell the cheese done slid off her cracker.

https://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/professor-dials-911-over-rotc-program/ This University of North Dakoto English Professor called 911 to report seeing armed figures in camo with guns after the university announced to staff that there'd be drills on campus. I hope they arrest this nutjob if she follows through with her threat to continue to call 911, despite being told by the university not to.

I've never seen one either, but Blade-Tech and 5.11 also make drop and offset rigs that accept Tek-Lok holsters. Might be cheaper to have someone make you a leather holster like you describe.

I'm not a huge FDE fan, but I see even more differences in shades of FDE/tan than I'd expect too.

Many life insurance policies won't cover you for accidents during certain events like sky diving, mountain climbing, scuba diving, motorsport racing, etc. I just wondered if other insurances wouldn't pay out for similar activities.

Case Ejector for cheap Lee single stage press
BigK replied to BigK's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I saw those too. Do you have one? Does it work well? -
I love doing my depriming on my little Lee Reloader press. I got it this little gem on sale for around $23 a few years ago and have no regrets. I just started wet tumbling with SS media, so depriming before tumbling is a no-brainer now. I don't know if anybody already makes these or not, but if they do I couldn't find one for my press. For the record, I probably spent more time making this than I'll save in the first couple of years, but it was fun and I was bored. I still need to come up with a better way to clamp the press in place, but my C-clamps are occupied at the moment.

Thanks, I'm running low myself.

The thickness you want is 8-9 oz leather. Anything thicker will be hard to work with and look bad. Anything thinner will feel flimsy and wear out quickly. The Tandy that everyone pointed you to runs a sale from time to time on shoulders, double shoulders, or sides for <$100.Other times I dig around their bins looking for odd shaped pieces like this, when they're on sale for around $20 or less.

It's clear he and his friends didn't even consider the possibility of shrapnel from the explosion when he setup for this YouTube moment of fame. I feel bad for the guy; he had a momentary glitch in his logic processing. This mistake may cost him his leg, his job/career, tons of money, embarrassment, but luckily not his life. Just saying, this particular lapse in judgement shouldn't ruin a guy's life. Now if he'd been drinking or clowning or whatever, I would have less sympathy. On the other hand...I know it sounds cold to even to ask this question, but should an insurance company have to pay out for AD&D or even hospital bills for an act of negligence like this?

TGO Meet n' Greet at Everything Weapons -- Saturday, April 2nd, 2016
BigK replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
sound fun, I'm in -
I always tumbled first until I started wet tumbling with ss media. I don't mind the extra step of depriming before tumbling. It gives me an extra chance to inspect, sort, and cull out the military crimped brass from the good stuff.

I'd have to take out a whole corner of the fence. That corner was in the area where they had to do some jackhammering to set the posts. Sounds like more trouble than it's worth, since I can get the same size but with a skylight and ridge vent built onsite for the same price. I'm leaning toward this outfit in Smyrna/Murfreesboro area called Backyard Buildings. My father-in-law has one they built and it's been top-notch. Anyone else heard of them? This is what I'm thinking of getting.. It's 10'X14, which is almost too much space for what I want. Plus, I'm going to add a storage loft to both ends.

Talking to a student about upgrading a firearm
BigK replied to timcar86's topic in Training Discussions
No man who knows anything about guns and loves his wife would buy her a Raven 25 to defend her life with. So, I agree that he is in as much need of education as her. However, telling a man he bought shi++y gun is like telling him his kids are ugly or his grandma's cooking sucks. I'd bet on a defensive reaction if you aren't very, very tactful. Good luck, buddy. -
I had an American Bulldog that had 2 eye surgeries when she was less than a year old. She also had to have a steak bone from the trash removed when she was about 2. She tore her ACL when she was about 5 or 6. I didn't even begrudge the cost of any of these things, because I loved her and her loyalty and friendship was worth a thousand times more. Fast forward o when she's 11, she had a grapefruit sized tumor and the surgery would have included removing one of her front legs at the shoulder socket for about the cost you are talking about, maybe a little more. The vet estimated at her age it'd buy her another year at best. We opted to keep her comfortable until her quality of life went downhill. In my mind, it would have been cruel to put her through that surgery for my own selfish reasons (one more year at best with her). BUT, 5 years earlier and I'd have paid twice the price to get 5 or 6 more years with her. Just my opinion.

I measured the width of the pathway to where the shed will sit before I went to ensure I had at least 12' of space (required for a 10' shed) the whole way to where it'd sit. When I got home with the quote I realized I only have a 10' gate...doh! My choices are now build onsite or buy a puny little 8' shed and need another in a few years.
-
I went and talked to a place here in La Vergne after work. I got a price for a 10'X14' lofted barn style shed. This place builds them on 6"X6" pressure treated skids and use wood shims to level it when they set it up.
-
If I had the foundation done for me and it was level, I'd have no trouble building the actual building myself. I have the tools/skills to do that, but I don't know jack about leveling a foundation.

That one is right down the road from me. I'll check them out.

I don't think I can buy one that's pre-built. There's no way to drive it into the spot it needs to go. We have an above ground pool blocking access to the gate. I may have to have it built/assembled onsite or buy a kit.

I know nothing about storage sheds besides what I like and don't like. I think I want a wooden shed with a shingled roof that will keep stuff dry...nothing huge or fancy, since it's just for storage not to work in. I mostly want more storage, so I can get the lawnmowers, bicycles, yard tools, and household storage items out of my man cave (garage). Any suggestions? Anything I should look for? Anything I should avoid? Where at in middle TN can I get a good deal?

I say screw 'em if they can't take a joke :D
