1. Hell hath no fury, like a woman scorned...or...you mess with the elephant, you get the tusks.
2. The squared numbers really impressed me!!
3. I believe the media now recommended the following steps in the use of force continuum to minimize loss of life. Only after these 6 steps can the officer use deadly force: use harsh words in an authoritative tone apply pepper spray to suspect's face deploy tazer to subject's torso use baton to subject's extremities shoot the weapon out of the subject's hand shoot subject in leg I'm joking, of course. Actually it reminds me of one of my favorite scenes from Demolition Man
4. double tap
5. Very cool indeed!
6. I'm a SA/DA guy anyway, so I don't mind the factory trigger at all. BUT...I've got a SP-01 that was sent to CZ Custom for custom trigger work and a 75 Shadow that came from the factory already tricked out. Both have such fantastic triggers that even an experienced shooter can accidentally double-tap if you ride the sear just right.
7. My only problem with the Omega trigger system is that WHEN you fall in love with the gun, there's nothing you can do to make it any better. The original SA/DA trigger smooths considerably around 500 dry-fires/rounds AND can be upgraded to competition quality by folks likee David at Cajun Gun Works. I took one apart myself once, will never do that again. Taking that sucker apart makes detail stripping a Ruger Mark II look as easy as field stripping a Glock in comparison.
8. I've broken more than one of the cheapos...learned quickly that they are a black hole for your money. I also lost a really good Gerber back when they first came out with the ones where the pliers slide out the end. I have a 20+ yr old Leatherman that I can't seem to wear out. If I lost/broke the Leatherman, I'd buy another...hands down my favorite.
9. I'm with Pete123...nice hand stitching. My knuckles are hurting for ya, just thinking about how many stitches that was! At first I thought you sewed that decorative pattern for looks, but don't see a top and bottom stitch line. So, I'm guessing you glued the leather together and added stitching through both layers and through the kydex too?
10. I loved my Midway bag...used it for years. Then I found this awesome GPS bag and haven't used my Midway bag since.
11. I understand minimizing risk. Hell, I carry a gun for that exact reason. However, I absolutely refuse to live in fear. I will not scour every aspect of my outward appearance of all signs that might possibly single me out as a gun owner. I don't want guns in the hands of criminals any more than the next guy, but I have insurance to cover my losses in the event of a robbery. I hope I never have to use the insurance, just like I hope I never have to use my gun to defend myself/family. Until that happens...KEEP CALM AND CARRY
12. I'm the oddball here, but I'd prefer PVC (I get stuff dirty easy and this logo has white in it). I like the idea of a round one, it would be a little different. Regardless, I'm in with whatever you get done...always happy to fly my favorite colors, thanks David.
13. At least he didn't have one on each side in drop-leg tie-down cowboy holsters, so maybe he's not too far gone to come back to reality.
14. Wow, that IS a tank. Those scales look great! I love CPM154 too.
15. Aside from the teenagers trying to get themselves killed and the guys trying to win the gold medal for loudest pipes, most riders are okay.
16. I heard some funny motorcycle terminology recently. Ever heard of these? A pirate in a pudding bowl with butt jewelry. (Harley rider in a half helmet with lots of chrome) A squid wit 3" chicken strips and a dozen performance awards. (noob on a crotch rocket who gets lots of speeding tickets, but can't take curves) Any other funny motorcycle terms to share?
17. I met him at the NRA convention. I don't care what anybody thinks...I really like the guy!
18. I am most impressed that 5 of 9 shots missed their target in NYC and only one of those 5 rounds hit a bystander.
19. That's really gorgeous. I understand your dilemma. I've never sold anything I've made for a profit, because I'm not that good at making anything and I don't count my labor.
20. Well, after reading this and doing some deep thinking, I'm switching from 9mm to a Carhart jacket and a sharp stick.
21. I'm seeing a theme here: I carried a Spyderco that I absolutely LOVE for 5 or 6 years until Willis ruined it for me. Now all I want to carry is my Protech Magic. Not only is it the highest quality steel I've ever owned, but the cool factor is over the top. I've never been happier with any of my EDC gear than I am with this knife.
22. Nice color choice...I picked gray. Excellent checkout process. PayPal FTW!!
23. Kudos!! I know how proud I'd be, if I was you. My daughter was nowhere near that good at at that age, but I was proud. I wish she'd stuck to it, but she lost interest when she got in high school. Cherish it while you can and I hope for your sake she never loses interest.
24. I'm not a huge fan of the stock M&P trigger either, but that can be fixed if money is no object. While you're at it, you'll also have to spend some more money to get sights as nice as those that come stock on the XD-s. The other thing I didn't like about the Shield 45 is that that bore axis felt tall to me. It FEELS like there's more gun sticking up above my hand, even if there isn't (I'm not sure, I can't find that measurement anywhere). The 45 Shield feels really really thin in my hand and I wear size M gloves. I think I read that the shield is actually about 0.09" wider, so I'm guessing the added length of the Shield grip front to back lets them round the corners of the grip, giving it a sleeker feel than the squarish Glock-like feel of the XD-s. Add the fact that the 45 Shield is also about a half inch taller (looks like the extra height is all in the grip length), letting you get you get that extra finger on the grip. It just feels better in your hand even if the extra height is a little harder to conceal. Bottom line for me is I'm not selling my XD-s any time soon, but if I didn't already have one, it'd be a REAL tough call between the 2. I like a lot of things about both.
25. Yeah, that was hilarious...he actually expected us to pay him to go drop a deuce. Then we got stopped in a long line of cabs making their way to the taxi stand, so we asked to just pay him and walk the rest of the way. He insinuated that we shouldn't get out yet, so we rode the remaining 1000 feet. With the congestion near the building, that cost a little over a dollar more on the meter, which naturally came out of his tip.
