The difficulty seating a mag aside, that is one sweet shooting handgun. It's WAY WAY more comfy to shoot than my compact P365 is. That longer grip will help a lot with consistency and accuracy since the trigger guard won't be digging into your middle finger so badly. The difference in felt recoil is much better due to a full paw on the grip too. One of the things the Europeans do that I don't like is they seem to put oversized trigger guards on everything. I get it, they think we all live in the Alps and wear ski gloves when we shoot, but I think I've worn a glove one time in my whole life for maybe one mag. It wasn't for me. I'd rather have the grip space back. I ain't gonna lie, I liked shooting your P-01 better, but I'm always gonna be partial to a good SA/DA trigger. Made me wish I'd brought my P-01 instead of my P365. LOL

Careful torquing that screw down. I know this one guy that broke a hex wrench off into his CZ Scorpion recently. I'm sure you're smarter than him though.

I use my credit card instead of my debit card every chance I get. If I had my way I'd never use my debit card. IMHO, it's way better to cancel my credit card and get a refund for those charges than for a thief to drain my checking account and me have to wait for that to be reversed.

Anybody else like chopped up onions in their cornbread?

At that speed, even if the miracle gloves actually work, that'll be the only part of you still working.

Lots of sit-down restaurants don't give me that option. Do you just avoid restaurants where you can't pay at the register?

I found an unrecognized charge on my credit card yesterday. Oddly, it was from last week and it turned out to be fraud. The weird thing is that whoever got my card number only used it ONCE and that was a week ago. I've only had this happen one other time and they made a lot of big attempts in rapid succession. This person bought themselves an e-book on Amazon's Kindle site and that's all. Amazon wouldn't tell me who it was or do anything about it, but the bank reversed the charge immediately and said they'd investigate. It was only $9.99, but I hope they prosecute. I hate thievery with every ounce of my being. The target device that downloaded the e-book will be easy to find and I gave them the Amazon order number, but I won't hold my breath. Mostly I want them punished for making me cancel my card and get a new number.

One of the forums I frequent (I think it was an ADV motorcycle forum) had a good recipe thread going for a long time. One day we were talking about squirrel dumplins and venison recipes and what not and this one fella asked if we'd every had crawdad cornbread. I am a sucker for some cajun/creole food, so I begged the recipe off of him and tried it. My kids begged me to make it every week for months after we tried it, but crawdads are hard to come by here, so started using mini cocktail shrimp instead. If you like cornbread and you like cajun food, I'd be surprised if you don't like cajun crawfish cornbread casserole. Don't it look good?

reloading supplies are so high I can only afford to shoot store bought ammo

Isn't it ironic that the same crooks we elected and sent to DC are the same ones that created the laws to regulate the shady bankers? Then the shady bankers outsmart them and taxpayers are left holding the bag for the cost of the flawed regulations. If the headsman's ax is coming out for one single shady banker it better be coming out for all the complicit .gov bureaucrats too.

The anti-gun crowd sees the armed criminal hiding behind laws that protect you and I too. I don't want them to throw the good out with the bad, so I also don't want the good capitalists to be punished with the robber barons.

Looks sharp, nicely done

I like it. I don't have any with lock backs, please let us know how you like it. I found small and large replacement Victorinox toothpicks on Amazon for around $6 for a half dozen. I bought a pack of mini fire starters by FireFy that replace the toothpick, so I went that route instead. They work surprisingly well for their size.

Welcome, I think the 10 posts can include comments on existing threads. I don't think it means you have to start 10 new conversations. I'm certain someone will come along and correct me, if that's wrong though.

I confess to using a box of Jiffy far too often out of convenience and it eats just fine with a pot of beans or pot roast. Don't judge me too harshly and let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

Back in the 90s I used to commute from near Woodbury to Nashville on a '78 Suzuki GS1000L. It was my only vehicle for about a year. More than once when it was very cold I'd get caught in heavy traffic and an unexpected rain, so I rode the shoulder past traffic between exits. I won't lie, it was kind of scared of hitting debris on the shoulder that I couldn't see thru my wet visor, but I was more terrified of all the oil washing off the lanes and onto the shoulder. Thankfully I never had a wreck even in the snow.

I forget who to credit for these stackable shims from Amazon, but I love them. One under each corner creates just enough air gap to keep moisture away and I think I had one corner than needed 2 to make it level. Thanks to a cheap Harbor Freight impact drill and some expanding steel anchors, I was able to bolt it down right onto the shims. Just in case, I have a Golden Rod inside the safe.

I'd stake your reputation on something, but I'm not risking mine. LOL

The best for abrasion resistance and dexterity is goat skin. You can get a 3 pack of VGO goat skin work gloves on Amazon for a decent price. I've had the same pair of goatskin motorcycle gloves for almost 8 years and you can barely see some wear marks. I like goatskin way better than deerskin or cowhide.

I assume it's still 15% for average service and 20% for good service. I try to do 20% at least since labor is in such short supply and I hate washing dishes at home.

I'd like to think that's because they gave so generously at church, but I have doubts. As a member of that demographic, It saddens me to be thought of in that light. At least I get to be one of the people that shatter a stereotype.
