Sorry for your loss. I had a hole I thought nothing could fill when we lost our last dog. I didn't agree at the time, but I'm thankful my wife was smarter than me and pushed for getting another dog sooner than later. Turns out I needed something to redirect that love towards more than I needed to mourn.

I'm glad that one is sold out...I like it a lot. LOL

Another sling bag fan here. I prefer them over backpacks. I learned this at the NRA conventions. I can spin the sling bag around front to add/remove things easily w/out taking it off.

Wow, I thought I was the only one, LOL. I've got way too many Maxped bags to claim not to be a bag whore too. Their Sitka Gearslinger is the one I use the most. I want something less tactical but equally versatile, but nothing I find checks the same boxes for the same money or less. Oh, I forgot about one other of theirs that I love, the Neatfreak Organizer. It's SO cool and less tactical looking, but it's too small for a laptop. I got it because it fits my tablet, but then I realized I hate tablets.

Also on my .32acp list is an original CZ Scorpion. I would start reloading that caliber if I had one.

I like that! Great job on the paint work.

Good news, hope it brings lots of jobs. I'm a big fan of their products.

Impressive collection. I especially like the CZ27. I've almost bought one several times, but never found the right deal.

Gorgeous knives, as always. GLWS

Speaking of zip ties, I was looking at a pistol at a booth at a gun show. A teenager was keeping an eye on the booth for a few minutes while his dad checked out the competition. While I was waiting for him to return to buy a pistol an elderly gent, likely in his late 70's, wanted to look at a gorgeous old Colt revolver in mint condition, but was frustrated that it was zip tied to a security ring in the table. The kid said he'd cut it off of there for him and turned to get some small side cutters, before he could turn back around the old guy had slid the blade of his pocket knife under the zip tie. He was kind of shaky and fumbling and I knew what was gonna happen so I asked him to wait, so he didn't scratch up the gun. Too late, he cut it by prying the spine of his blade on the side of the revolver and sure enough left a huge, ugly gouge in the metal. I said, sorry, I tried to stop him, but the kid was almost in tears. He pointed out the big scratch to the guy and said "my dad is gonna kill me for this", but the elderly guy and his wife just left. The kid was losing his mind, so I waited to tell his dad what happened and pointed out the man, now way down the row of booths. I didn't stay to see what happened, but I doubt they got any justice from the ordeal. I'll never forget that, felt so sorry for them.

I think they overestimate the power of their zip ties myself. I've seen more than one person customer cut the zip tie to let a prospective buyer inspect a gun they brought to sell. I'm sure they don't like it, but you could always bring your own zip tie to replace it, if you're worried they might kick you out.

That's a darn good price!!

Good point, I bought my Shadow for IDPA. I love it and probably won't ever part with it. It made me a better shooter right away. I have a couple of pistols w/ strikers, but the ones I love to shoot most have hammers and DA/SA triggers. I'm right there with you.

It's a CZ Shadow, you can't go wrong with either. However, I never understood why they made a SA/DA version of a target pistol.

Looks too much like when my wife gets on Amazon.

Welcome to Nashville!

Stossel has done a lot of stories over the year that exposes common misconceptions. This one and the one about recycling are my favorites.

I didn't know that, thanks. I bet that forces them to leave a lot behind. I only say that because it often took my dad and I HOURS to process a deer at home where we have the best equipment and table tops.

The biggest white tail I've killed field dressed around 135# and I was gassed after dragging it about 1/2 mile to the truck, over 2 fences, and loaded into the bed. Sometimes elk/sheep hunters hike miles up into the mountains. 3 Probably dumb questions, but: How do they get that carcass out of there? How did you get this beast up onto a SXS or into a truck bed to haul it home?

While I freely admit that a BoS gives many a sense of comfort, I don't see why it's usually the seller that asks for one. I feel like it's more beneficial to the buyer to insist on one. As a private seller of a gun you bought on a 4473, if "they" come knocking to ask about the disposition of the gun, saying "I sold/traded it to a non-prohibited TN resident" has the same effect for you as a BoS, right? As a private buyer, you have a lot more to lose if you don't have one.

I completely forgot he was in Conan. I loved that scene where he shot the snake out of a bow.

I loved him in Sandlot, but I don't recall a single bad movie/show.

I'm not sure if my tree guy goes that far, but I strongly recommend calling him to see. Not only was he the cheapest of my 5 estimates, he was the nicest guy you could ever wanna meet. I had him cut down 3 mature trees, grind the stumps, and trim 2 others (incl. a 65' tall Ash tree). One of the trees was in a corner of the fence and the house w/ less than 2" from each and they didn't leave a single mark, even when grinding the stump. There was at most 3 or 4 handfuls of small wood chips/dust when they left too. I'm having them back over this fall/winter to top/trim 7 or 8 Bradford pear trees next. I really liked this guy and his crew was very nice and professional. BTW...he's on Angi's List if you wanna read more reviews. 615-821-9862 https://hectorsteeservice.com/

The Optics Planet article was definitely about optics, not pointers. It has some good info in there and it's a quick read.
