That's fair. I did notice how they try to present left, right, and center articles for each media story. At least they're trying and I commend that.

That was very interesting, thanks. I especially found this last part interesting. We pay lots of attention to our kids' (or in my case grandkid) physical safety, but we don't pay close enough attention to our kids' emotional safety. Example: my 8 yr old grandson got in trouble for saying vulgar phrase on the bus and was suspended for 3 days. I KNOW for a fact nobody in my house says that phrase. Recently he started preferring to use headphones when he watches YT on my tablet when I'm near. It didn't take much sleuthing to realize what's going on. So, we had a sit-down to discuss it my expectations for his behavior and to explain why he has to listen out loud now. First words out of his mouth were please don't tell anyone at church. That alone tells me he's embarrassed and knows it's wrong. I hope we don't have to revisit this, but I was a kid once and it didn't take long to learn how you talk among peers vs what an adult might hear.

They consider Fox to be far right and only consider CNN, Politico, Bloomberg, and NPR to be left of center instead of far left. I'm suspicious out of the gate.

glad to have ya, welcome

I'd like to know too, but I fear we're hunting flying unicorns.

Depends on who you ask, right? I'd argue there dozens of major news outlets that spin the news one direction and one major outlet that spins the news the other direction. None of them can be trusted completely.

My daughter just saw a hummingbird at one of my feeders! I'm a little jealous I missed it, but hope it leads to more.

What Most People Who Carry Fail to Realize

I think his only hope is to argue that a previous shot killed the bad guy and he only abused a corpse with the last shot. -
Many decades ago I gave my sister a ride to Kroger. I was standing at the end of the checkout while she paid for her groceries. When she yanked her hand out of her pocket to hand the cashier her money, I saw a skinny white cylinder about 2.5" long go arcing thru the air. I had better eyesight back then and instantly realized what it was in time to look my sister in the eyes, register her severe anxiety, and see her leap for it before it even landed. It bounced about an inch out of her reach and slowly took what seemed like an eternal ride down the conveyor belt toward the bag boy, who had also recognized it in mid-air and positioned himself in a spot to intercept it when it arrived. He scooped it up, cupped it in his hand, and returned it to my sister saying, "I think you dropped this, Miss". Either he had cat-like reflexes or I was too busy laughing at my sister's situation to react, but regardless, it was the funniest 2.5 seconds I ever had in a grocery store and I we've laughed about it 100 times over the years.

Yep, OCG turned out to be the cheapest I could find. I got 2 of the 17 round mags for $45 each. I can't wait to shoot my P365 with the big mags, but it'll be a few weekends before I have time. Even with the Maglula getting the 17th round in is a challenge. I decided 16+1 is good enough for me.

I keep wondering to what degree putting cell phones into the hands of kids at younger and younger ages is rotting their brains. I worry that all the focus on STEM and Vo-Tech in the world can't hold a candle to what FB, Candy Crush, and TikTok are doing to their brains.

One place we used to live had the best edged landscaping ever. I asked the grounds keeper what he used and he told me on the DL that it was diesel. It worked, but jeez. I like your suggestion a lot better. LOL

I hedged my bets in HS. I took all the classes I could to prepare for college, but I also took as many vocational/technical classes as I could too. Vo-tech classes are very important too and are just what some kids need to have a better future.

How often do you empty/wash yours if the nectar doesn't get eaten?

My grandson and I setup 2 feeders yesterday. They were cheapos from Walmart, but look identical to the ones I saw a lady using on a YT video. Looked like she had hundreds of hummingbirds in her back yard.

Proof that “Thank you for your service” is just lip service.

Our country is not perfect by any means, but not living up to what we owe our vets is a VERY sore point for me. -
Glad this isn't about dining and dashing (first thing that came to mind). I know somebody, let me ask him. I'll PM you back.

Like you said, foreign aid is tricky, but there's obvious fat to trim in some areas. There's a lot of other places we should look to trim too, like bloated benefits for politicians and bureaucrats and many other wastes. -
I've got more HF tools than anything else, but I'm picky about ratchets and driver bits (I can't stand chewed-up bits!). It doesn't have to be all or none. A mix of good and better tools works for me.

I don't care about squeegees or broken windows. I just care about results and during Giuliani's 8 years as mayor of NYC violent crime decreased by 56 percent, murder went down nearly two-thirds, robberies dropped 67 percent and aggravated assault shrank by 28 percent. Some say crack declining, social/demographic changes, sentencing laws, and economics were the "real" reason crime dropped at that time. I'd argue they likely contributed at best, but were more likely the results of his attack on low-level crime.
