I've been looking for that button since before the change. Also looking for a button to show just the threads I've posted to. Any help?

My wife got a Bersa Thunder .380 in 2002. It was a lot of bang for the buck and all we could realy afford. She never carried it, despite my pleading. Now she wants my Taurus 738 TCP and swears she'll carry it. She's a nurse and works late, so I dare not argue. I'm just glad she wants to carry again. I asked her to go shoot it, but she insists that she knows how to handle guns (she really does, I just want her to practice more). In her defense, if she feels threatened enough to shoot an attacker, it will be b/c he's too close and she won't miss inside 10'.

There are too many leaches in this country already! They won't work hard and hate anyone who does. They will say anything to get what they want. They steal from hard working people at the point of a gun. They ignore oure laws and will bend them any way they can to appear innocent and pious. They hate all businesses, even though they are the ones employing the masses. They want to change our country into a God-less communist state. And worst of all...we keep re-electing them!

Welcome indeed, WildCatBrownHound. Like JPS, I'm just down the road in La Vergne as well. Good to know I have a few good neighbors.

I'm glad we went after Bin Laden. I'm just as glad that we deposed Hussein. I'm glad we are trying to help both countries establish a democracy of sorts. I'm glad we're killing some of the terrorist leaders. I hate that the media treats our troop like villains and the insurgents like victims. I hate that the fiscally and morally bankrupt countries in most of Europe have fought us every step. Most of all, I hate that we've lost lives and wasted money to save a group of people that will always hate us and want us dead.

Two years ago my baby sister was anti-gun, anti-capitalism, pro-democrat, and voted for BO. Today she sees what a mess our economy is in, feels unsafe in parts of town b/c crime is rising where she lives, and can't believe how badly BO lied to get in power. Equally important, she bought me a pistol for my birthday last month and wants me to take her and her fiancee with me to the range. She wants to get familiar with guns and I couldn't be happier. It took some work, but it was worth it!

OMFG...this is so true! I'm so sick of the propagandist sympathizers painting all illegals as poor migrant workers trying feed their families. The signs aren't up to protect us from tomato pickers or landscapers. I think the first innocent citizen or LEO that gets shot/hurt by these thugs and we prosecute the president for allowing it to happen.

The world has known those minerals were there for a long time. They export about $3M worth every year. This is just the first time USGS has had a crew there to estimate their value. The goat herders, opium farmers, rug makers, and IED fabricators can't dig those resources out of the ground, thoughs Some US mining company will come in to teach them how to do so more efficiently, sell them equipment on credit, and oversee the whole operation on a purely philanthropical basis. Bovine Scattology, there's gold in them thar hills!

Democrat Congressman assualts student.

I don't think I'd press charges if I were these guys. Too much hassle and nothing would come from it. I'm fairly certain that if he were a Republican and had done the same, the Democrats would be pushing the GOP to ask him to resign. We've seen them do so for far less. They've wanted peoples' heads on the chopping block for words...this is assault and battery. As far as Obama wanting to commune...I don't think his ilk will be happy until he's installed Animal Farm 2.0. -
Couldn't resist posting a few too... This is what $50 worth of cheap foil wrap, a few devious minds, and boss cool enough to let us waste this much time the day before someone comes back from vacation will get you (taken on my iPhone at work): Best computer ever (emailed to me recently): and my favorite (gotta love PatriotPost.com):

I've always wanted one, but I'm too cheap to drop that much on a knife. I finally got one at 1/2 price b/c the vendor was going to quit selling them. It didn't ocurr to me that some were made in China (mine is), so i didn't even look. After using it as my EDC for over a year, I have no complaints. It's still smooth and tight and holds a great edge.

Did anyone notice how many Rugers were posted? My Mark II

I got a couple of buddies that drive trucks OTR and they also warned about this. Apparently, they's famous for it. This advice is not just smart, it's like Yoda smart.

Carry Past a Sign - Lose Your HCP
BigK replied to Oh Shoot's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Great point razorback! I would only add that if you're "found out"...it would go a long way toward avoiding trouble if you apologize, explaining that it was not intentional, and ask humbly if you can please lock it up in your car. humble pie tastes better when you don't lose your right to carry :^) -
I can't believe I just read all 200 +/- posts. I heard some awful things, but I also heard a few people with lots of class call people out on it. It's a public range and newbies come out in droves. I am glad to see new people to the sport and that they have a safe place to learn. They have to be strict or someone dies. We're not out there playing cards. We have loaded firearms and not everyone is experienced. True, some of us are, but they don't ask for our shooting resume and give us a little star to indicate we don't make mistakes. I've been shooting for 35 years and if I make a mistake they have a right to call me on it. The key thing here is that, if I do everything safe, I don't get corrected. And like some others have said, yes they DO have to yell...ear protection, duh. If what we do wrong is grossly unsafe they'll grab the mic or walk over (whichever is faster) to make sure we stop that. If it's not something urgent, they'll walk over and tell you individually. Jenny and Bill are the volunteer RSOs most often when I go and they are awesome! Actually, they all are and they have a tough job. As certified instructors they feel responsible for your safety beyond what is required by their position, so naturally they jump on rule violations (e.g. the guy that shot himself). They give you a copy of the rules on your first visit and you DID agree to follow them when you came in. I hate that I can't hang a silhouette, though. It's a silly political rule, but it's Hunter's Ed station, not a self-defense school. If they let me hang 4 targets, b/c I can shoot well, the beginners will want to as well and my shoot up the target stands. If I need more to shoot at, I bring the nine-spot targets that are on a single sheet. Don't get me wrong, it's not perfect. I think I know who the range nazi is and I definitely agree he needs to chill. I wish I had my own place to shoot too or that I could afford a membership where only experienced shooters are allowed to be. Until then, the place is cheap, safe, and close to home.

Last Saturday (early afternoon) I heard her tell that to someone there. I wonder if that way you? I was 2 lanes to the right with an NRA Freedom hat and a CZ tshirt.

Not sure, but I think they were afraid a good informative show about guns and shooting wouldn't have a broad enough audience. Sad as it is, it's all about the money with TV. I get a lil dose of guns/shooting. The not so avid folks get some drama and pseudo-Survivor. Hopefully we're both partly satisfied.
-
Uh, oh! My wife liked it too. Is that a good omen? I hope so, b/c I kind of like the show. IMHO the good points outweigh the bad (i.e. guns + shoooting + competition - lame format > 0).

I completely agree with this seemingly abrupt answer. There seems to be some kind of prestige of ownership associated with a 1911. Whether it's warranted or not, I'm not judging it...I just admit it's there. Personally, I'd love to have a Kimber Ultra Carry II, but I cannot afford one. However, if I did have $1000 to spare...I'd get 2 CZ's RAMIs instead.

I called them today. There are going to be around 400 tables. The guys at my LGS say it's going to be pretty big. They are sending half their inventory/staff there. I cannot wait!!! Admission is $10 for adults 12 and over, $2 for kids b/w 6 & 12, and free for kids 6 and younger. Dont forget to print the coupon...might as well save a buck.

I had some trouble the first time I took my MK II apart. Then I finally found a video that explained why you have to do all that rolling and flipping and other gyrations. The tricky part is getting the hammer strut in the right position to close the main spring. Once you get the hammer back in place with the strut hanging down into the mag cavity, attach the barrel and slide in the bolt. Position the mainspring upward into the reciever hole until it clicks. Now the bolt stop is in place and all is left is to get that tricky little hammer strut in the right spot. Flipping it over and pointing the barrel up makes the strut fall against the mainspring. Then and only then can you lock the mainspring into place. Note: Failing to get the strut into the mainspring instead of above it or still haning down will keep the bolt from going all the way back (that's how you know you did it wrong). Hope this helped somebody.

Great link, wish I had know about it when I first got my Mk II. I found out the hard way how to get the hammer strut in the right position. Now, I detail strip mine like they do in the link each time I shoot it. I only take the hammer assebly off every 1500 rounds or so and it still shoots as good as the day I bought it. What a great pistol, huh?
