+1 sage advice I'd still sign him up online for a Rainbow vacuum demonstration and schedule it right around supper time, LOL

I helped out my favorite sector of the economy. I bought 300 rounds of ammo, a Hogue grip, and some targets. I also paid for admission to the TWRA shooting range to sight in a scope I bought earlier this week for my S&W M&P 15-22. After that I ate lunch at a local non-franchised restaurant. I also took a short nap, so I can stay up late to drink beer with the neighbors, thus strengthening my community ties. Do those count?

I got this old gun... It's an Ithaca single shot 20 guage. It's killed many a deer, rabbit, fowl, and won several turkey shoots. The pics of the barrel didn't turn out, but is REAL ugly.

Welcome, from just down the road in La Vergne.

Jamie, you are absolutely right. This whole conversation has gotten way too serious. Please let me be the first to offer you a sincere apology, if my comments have offended you or if you feel like I have attacked you unfairly. Far too often strong beliefs in anything cause a person to get defensive. If we had a differing opinion on illegal immigration, tax rates, universal helathcare, or 2nd ammendment rights, this would likely have gotten just as heated. So, again...sorry if I became overly defensive.

Very nice pistol! It seems like few .45's are that small, but to hold 11 rounds too is awesome.

You absolutely have a right to air your opinion, but you don't have to be so combative. I am not threatened by your position, only your demeanor. Nobody has attacked or ridiculed your position on religion. If you feel antagonized b/c someone else stated their beliefs, that's on you. You have repeatedly made insulting comments and references to others' beliefs, not the other way around.
-
Jamie you have done more preaching, posturing, and antagonizing on this thread than anyone. OK, we get it you're an atheist, but please note that no non-atheist on this thread has ridiculed your lack of beliefs or invited you to Church.

I decided to go with a 3-9X40 NcStar scope on a 1" Leapers riser with a Leapers vertical foregrip.

BO's comments like..."you'd think they'd be saying thank you"...are evidence that the democrats either don't realize what the majority of Americans want or are intentionally ignoring that majority, so they can continue to operate under the guise they are acting on the will of the people.

I had not heard of Pascal's Wager until now. Interesting! btw...I did think you meant me, but I'm glad you didn't and I apologize for the assumption.

If there are 200 Baptists in Nashville, should the rest of the town be able to vote their right to have a church away, because they are not Baptists? Regardless of what Islam believes, they cannot take away your rights and freedoms. In Iraq or Iran they make up such as big a majority as non-Muslims do in America. The fact that our Constitution won't allow a majority to trample on a minority is what makes us a great country.

You should hope that we Christians are wrong, b/c there is no comparing a lifetime of what you refer to as "believing something that wasn't true" to the alternative: eternal pain of damnation. I have no doubt that "The Big Guy" knows I'm not just hedging bets.

You're right, enfeild, I looked back at the email and it claimed this was Charlton Heston's basement. Like you said though, who knows?
-
Got this in an email today. I forget who the owner is, but who cares...look at this basement! don't know if you can call it an innocentl looking Manor House with a airplaine in the front yard, but it looks like something you'd see anywhere on the outside... even without peeking in, you can tell this door was made to protect something valuable... wow, toys as far as the eye can see... too bad they didn't show a pic of the shooting range (there has to be one, right?)...

+1 VERY well said Rob! This is exactly how I counter the nay-sayers, when they try to use science against religion on this topic. I just say, believe or not, it's up to you, but which of us stands to lose the most if they are wrong?

My company's policy says "no firearms on company property". My office is in a building where we lease half of a floor and we park in a partially undergroung parking garage. There are 8 or more companies sharing the common areas and the parking garage (i.e. no parking level is exclusively for a single tenant). Do you think they "CAN" search my car? What reason would they have to come up with to search an employee's car or they even need a reason?

I pinched my finger between the upper and lower receiver of my rifle last weekend and dropped the slide to one of my pistols on my toe while refinishing it. Both of which hurt like the dickens. Luckily, I reported neither...it's good not to be part of this statistic.

I don't know what the frame of our new Beretta is made of, so this may not apply. I asked CZ-USA about replacing my plastic guide rod with a stainless one and they were quick to warn me not to. Their claim is that the head of the guide rod that keeps the rear end of the spring against the barrel lug also touches the frame. Since they lightened the P-01 by using an aluminum alloy instead of steel on the frame, the steel guide rod would gouge the frame and do damage. Luckily, some nice folks on the CZ forum I also read showed some pics. Several folks (I suspect light shooters) had no damage, but I saw some pics of the gouges on some higher-round count weapons. That lead me to believe this would be even more damaging if the frame was plastic, but you decide for yourself or ask the mfg. or a gunsmith. Maybe this is only specific to CZ's.

After much urging from my almost 17 yrs old son, who is going off to the Marines next summer, I decided to get a new rifle for plinking. He wanted something tacticool and fun to shoot. I wanted to hold out until I could afford an AR-15, but the S&W M&P 15-22 seemed like a smart alternative. All-in-all I think it's a great compromise. It's being marketed as an inexpensive training rifle, so maybe it will give him more confidence when he gets his hands on the real thing. I got a fairly good deal on the rifle, a carry bag, and a couple of extra mags at the gun show last weekend and went straight to the range after a quick cleaning. We ran about 250 rounds of Walmart brick ammo through it without a single FTF or FTE. I've got a cheapo red dot, riser mount, and vertical grip on the way, so I'll post more pics later. Enjoy the gun porn, guys!

I think Jim was playing possum in practice or something. He shot quick and accurate in the elimination. From the way they showed it, I think he might have been Iain's time and sent him home if he hadn't caught a tough break.

I don't have anything worthwhile to say about the product, but hearing your rationale for trying it makes me feel like a lucky man. My wife thinks the smell of gun oil and GSR is sexy!
