I was checking out ArmsList.com on my lunch break today and ran into an old ad for a shotgun for sale. Item Price: $175.00 I have a brand new Mossberg 500A with a 28" bbl and wood furnishings. I am including 25 rounds of 00 buckshot and a rifle bag. I need to sell this as soon as possible to pay help pay for school needs. Dig this, the ad was listed on 8/16 and I was the first to respond!? He called me back and I met him at On Target in Murfreesboro an hour or two later to look it over. He wasn't kidding; the gun is brand new. The rifle sleeve and 5 boxes of buckshot were nice to have too.

First LEO encounter while carrying
BigK replied to walton6467's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I've never been asked for my HCP and likely never will be asked, b/c I CC. I wouldn't dream of trampling on anyone's right to OC, but I STRONGLY prefer CC. Partly, I don't want to be the 1st one shot if the SHTF and I'm near. Mostly, I know many people have "issues" (almost always irrational) with guns, so the fewer they see, they less they think about it. If I OC'ed in an unposted place and enough people complained to the owner, causing him to feel pressured to post his establishment, I'd feel bad. Not only would I be the catalyst that made him do what he felt he had to do, which often means choosing to lose some customers (US) at the risk of losing others (anti-gun nuts). SBO's have it hard enough in this economy without me creating issues that cause them to lose customers. Not to mention that many of us won't frequent a posted place, which is often inconvenient for us as well. So what I'm trying to get at is that maybe the LEO had another reason for recommending CC over OC? -
TN Handgun Carry Permit Schools and Instructors

Use This Format: Pack 'N Heat Hangar Lane @ Nashville Airport Jeff Eady $65 http://packnheat.net/ 615.604-9159 Jeff currently works as a Law Enforcement Training Officer in Middle Tennessee. He is a Field Training Officer, SWAT entry team member, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Post Certified Firearms Instructor, Structural Firefighter, Aircraft Rescue Firefighter, Response to Lethal Threats Instructor, Officer Survival Instructor, Simunition Instructor, OC Spray Instructor, and Medical First Responder. His class was fun and informative. I especially like the atmosphere. He kept it light and informal, but he was very professional and knowledgeable. On the day I took the class, there were only guys, so he let us shoot at the course where he trains officers for the Airport police. It was awesome, go to his site and check out the pics. There's a jet fuselage there where they practice entry drills. Your Personal Experience: I too -
Kudos, damn coyotes are aweful

reading these 2 threads was a great way to kill my last hour at work I learned a lot about "how things work around here." Sad...

I would trade every summer day day over 85 for an extra winter day below 40 and be happy. I don't love the cold and the snow. I just can't tolerate the heat.

my favorites are AllRize and 1 MPG

The Outpost is a great shop in a great location and a pretty good selection too. They also have the cutest gun sales gal that's ever sold me a gun. Well, she's actually the only female gun sales clerk I've ever met, but she's still cute.

My son and I went shooting as usual and stopped at Specialty Arms in LV to browse and shoot the breeze. Went to Murfreesboro to get my daughter her first cell phone and my son an XBox for his birthday.

Music City Tactical Shooters Sept 4 Match

Sounds VERY cool. For someone who has zero experience at IDPA, how can I learn how to get started? -
Much respect! Truly a lost talent.

How much ammo do you carry for EDC?
BigK replied to Backon4's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I carry 13 + 1 in the one on my hip and another 13 in spare mag (both mags are downloaded by 1 from 14) and 6 + 1 in my backup in my pocket = 34 -
If I learn something and avoid shooting myself, I'll consider it a success. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I wish you were joining me. It'd be like a coup to have 2 TGO'ers in the winners pool. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In the last 15 years I've only spent 2 nights away from home and that was work related. I'm pretty excited that my trip is for a fun training class this time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The saddest thing of all about people like this is that they get more of our hard-earned money if they squeeze out more kids. They have an incentive to bring kids into poverty, while the more responsible people often have half as many kids. Eventually the bums will outnumber us. Have you seen the movie Idiocracy ? It's hilarious, but the beginning made me furious, b/c it's true. The lowest common denominators in society outbreed the rest.

I had seen them on keychains a lot before I ever saw one for sale. I just couldn't bring myself to pay $10 -15 for a few feet of para cord and a ball bearing. I made a few with and without the ball bearings for practice. Without the ball they lose their shape quickly. I didn't like the feel of the ball, so I grabbed a die from a Yhatzee game and tried it. It was perfect...lighter, solid, the square shape is unique, and it keeps its shape better than round. Just my

They will surely film something or at least take pictures for promo purposes. Too bad I don't have a TGO hat or t-shirt to sport, hint hint

I don't know what he was gonna post, but the title got my attention. That's all I was commenting on. That title would attract a lot of unwanted attention is all.

A week ago I got a confirmation email from The Sportsman Channel that I am a Grand Prize Finalist. I was skeptical, but I distinctly remembered entering the "Be A Handguns HotShot" contest (The Sportsman Channel | Enter to Win to be a Handguns Hotshot!). I looked up their site, verified that the email was actually coming from their Director of Communications. I had to give them my middle name and DOB for a background check. Apparently they don't wanna trust just any idiot to shoot with. I've been pretty excited all week, but tried not to get worked up, in case there was a catch or something. Well, today I got word that I was officially 1 of the 6 winners. I got an all expenses paid trip to a training class put on by Aaron Roberts, host of The Sporting Channel's show, "Handguns." If you click the link above, it tells the other goodies that are included too. It's pretty cool to me, b/c my son & I watch the show every week. Plus, I never win anything. I have always wanted to take a training class and now I get to do it for free!

I get that, but I seldom get a chance to try a new weapon. Who knows, I may like 1911's and go out and get one.
-
Wow! Nice setup already, can't wait to see the final product. What a steal too, btw.
-
Well, it turns out I can have my cake and eat it too. I was told to go ahead and bring mine just in case and they'll have enough ammo for both!
