hey Robert, the 9th won't work either. Matt has plans for the 1st two weekends. maybe the 16th? we'll find a day that works for all 3 of us eventually, LOL
-
Who knew King could look relatively believable as a biker? That Road-Glide looked out of place, though. Still, great episode! Especially the "party scene". Like we didn't know Opie was gonna get mad even before he started pounding shots?!
-
Yeah, instead of 1st hand we'd find the headline on "When Animals Attack"...
-
LMAO, I wouldn't call them either. I'd wait for them to call me . Maybe someone who's been thru it will shed some light.

found it by clicking on the anniversary sale banner...http://cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=49AnniversarySale-door&id=0079179217410a&navCount=0&podId=0079179&parentId=cat605304&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=9IS&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601233&hasJS=true

Dude, sorry to hear the bad news. I know how mad you must be. Some punks broke into my car once and took zilch (nothing in there worth stealing), but they had a "cute" lil signature. They were breaking/bending gear shifts and/or taking the gear shift knobs of the cars they broke into. I hope the Police catch who did it and they fall down a LOT before they get back to the station . BTW...what happens if the insurance comes thru and then the gun turns up? Do you have to give back the money the insurance paid?

I like the CZ 82 a lot, it's got a great trigger and good ergonomics. Unfortunately, I got mine before I got a C&R license, so I paid too much. I hope yours works out as good as mine though. BTW...if you need parts, CZ-USA is the place to look. The CZ 83 is still in production and most of its parts fit your gun. I only got my license this week and haven't bought anything yet. The Nagant revolver is very interesting, especially for the price. I'd love to hear a range report on it.

So, who all are in for skeet shooting at Cedar City on Saturday October 2nd? I am!
-
I know Piney, Jax, and Opie are "the good guys" for lack of a better term, but how boring would the show be if Jax turned the MC into a social club. No illegal stuff? No guns? No biker ho's? I hope they don't succeed. BTW...I really dig the new pic!!

Although I am not excited to be laughed at for my skeet shooting antics, I'd like to go some time. Matt was telling me about Cedar City and since it's so close, I'd love to give it a try next. Big Springs was great, but it's a lot farther.

I bought one early in the summer and finished my 4th brick of ammo this weekend. My daughter, son, neighbor, curious onlookers at the range, and I have enjoyed all 2,200 rounds. Plus, they take every accessory that fits on an AR-15.

yeah, but I ain't skeered of your team, tho

If you were Cameron, the IRA guy, who would you least like to be locked in a room with when you are caught. I vote for Gemma after this last episode.

I wasn't arguing with you guys and unless I'm overlooking something in the TCA text, I agree with you. I know your "walking down the street with a gun in your hand" example was just an illustration of the vagueries in the law. I also agree that I can pull my gun, having it at the ready without pointing it at someone, and not be threatening someone's life or brandishing a firearm, too. There's undeniably a point somewhere b/w code yellow and code red, where you get ready, but don't yet have cause to use or threaten deadly force. I think most of the examples that were used to the contrary were NOT cases where someone took their gun out to "get ready for trouble". They were examples where someone held someone at gunpoint, threatened someone overtly, or were just being stupid.

Ready for a laugh? In early spring, I bought a shoulder holster from Sportsman's Guide. It was a cheap nylon one, but it held the weight securely, had clips like suspenders do for tie down, and had a double mag holder on the strong side. I bought it as an experiment for less than $20 to see if I'd like it, before I went and paid too much for a leather one. Well, I carried that way off and on for a couple of weeks on short trips out to get groceries or whatever. I kind of liked the way it felt not to have the weight on my belt too. I was starting to like it until I went to dinner with the wife and realized...I couldn't take off my coat when we got to the table or everyone would see my Sonny Crockett wannabe rig. So there I was in a VERY warm restaurant trying to eat while wearing my winter coat. I went to the car and took it off, but that was the end of shoulder rig carry for me.

I hate that they killed off Half-Sack. I liked that episode when he earned them some cash boxing. Bobby Elvis and Chibs are 2 of my favorites too. Who do you guys like the most/least?
-
I like my LGS, b/c they have a good selection. They do a TON of business, so prices are low. The same 4 or 5 guys are there every time I walk in and they are friendly. I love that I can go in when there's not a crowd and just to shoot the with them without feeling like I'm bothering them. My only complaint is...they don't get many trade-ins, so I rarely see many used guns for sale.

I think I saw a coupley of those video snippets on YouTube. They weren't full length, but from what I saw of them, he seems like a good teacher. From what I've read, he's kind of a guru in the skeet world, especially famous for his Station 2 write up in Shotgun World. I'm sure the videos would help a lot, but for now I think I need the lessons. I need somebody to watch me do stuff wrong and smack my hand a little.

How old is your daughter? I have a 13 yr old and she LOVES shooting my S&W 15-22 and my Ruger Mark II. I bet she'd love having a girl to shoot with for a change. We'll be headin up there this weekend some time. If you narrow down a time, let me know & maybe we'll run into you there. Kevin

Any biology gurus in the house? Homework question... need some help.

The cell nucleus must split to reproduce. An explosion doesn't allow the nucleus to replicate. So, I don't believe that would cause more cells to form. I'd agree with the cell imploding in a vacuum or lack of oxygen to survive or the cold temp being the issue. -
You talking about the hunters ed shooting range on Hobson Pk? I go every other weekend.
-
Is it just me or has the cheese done slid off Gemma's cracker. I can't believe she almost stabbed some innocent guy in the junk.

I checked out their site (www.tnclay.com) and their resident pro (Terry Hetrick) charges $95 per lesson or 3 lessons for $265. I might try to scrape together a C-note before it gets cold. That's expensive to me, considering I'm shooting a < $200 gun, but that's the same cost as 4 trips to shoot and I won't likely get much better on my own.

I was gonna ask about lessons this weekend, but forgot. I could easily see how that would be the best way to learn right. I'd like to avoid learning any bad habits that will take a long time to train myself out of later. Did you ever take lessons, Guy? If so, do you recall how much they cost or have a general idea?

Matt, I'm quite jealous that I don't have a trap setup in my back yard! I live over in Lake Forrest, so needless to say, that's not possible. Have you taken that Benelli out to the skeet range yet? If I recall correctly, that Vinci model is under 7#. It's a wonder how they managed to get the recoil under control on a gun that light, but they are awesome. On Station 1, 2, 6, & 7 I hit the low bird most often. You're right, just managing the rise/fall is much easier to learn with. Thanks for the heads up on Cedar City. I'll definitely give them a try. Big Springs cost me $27 for 2 rounds ($5 daily membership, $5/round for clays, & $6/box for shells). Is Cedar City comparably priced? If you ever find yourself needing someone to tag along, shoot me a PM. David, sporting clays sounds fun too, but the place I went doesn't have a setup for that. I'm not ready for that yet anyway. In retrospect, I probably should have started off with trap instead of skeet. If my skill level comes around, I'll give sporting clays a try too!
