  1. Wow, that's a great looking car, GLWS. I had a mint green '71 Coronet in high school. Good time, good memories, great car!
  2. If I had to designate anyone to speak on my behalf about 2A issues it would be TFA.
  3. The best cheap name brand I've owned was the original S&W M&P 15 Sport. I was very impressed with the performance for the price and still have no need for a forward assist or dust cover on any of my better rifles now.
  4. The idea of not trusting your opinions on guns to strangers has more merit than the OP realizes. Afterall, we're talking about 2A issues here that are protected by the Bill of Rights, not bond issues or legalization or mottos/symbols on a ballot initiative. If public opinion mattered as much as the law, we'd have lost our gun rights decades ago. With these questions, adding another number to the respondent count will NOT help our side when the stats are used against us.
  5. It's hard to believe those questions were written so vaguely on accident. Mark Twain was right about lies, damn lies and statistics. Those questions were architected to be used in any way the person who collects them sees fit.
  6. My wife got a Vespa last year, so she could join my grandson and I on motorcycle rides. I liked her scooter so much I got me one too. I ride it most of the time now, but my grandson loves the Super Tenere better. He finally nagged me to get out on the big bike this weekend. You can tell by his big grin that he had fun.
  7. Amen, brother.
  8. I feel like lowering the hammer manually introduces more risk than not having a safety does, YMMV.

They're taking some liberties with the math, LOL. Maybe their inches have less than 25.4 mm in them.
  10. I've never shot 147gr or subsonic 9mm ammo. How does it perform?

I heard rumors of that too. I thought it was odd for them to go from .223 caliber to only .264 caliber. If they do, you won't hear me complain. That's much less competition for us for .223/5.56.

The only time I worry about 5.56 vs .223 is when I'm buying the rifle. A .223 rifle can't shoot 5.56 because it produces too much pressure, but a 5.56 rifle can shoot either. The hotter 5.56 round should have slightly more range and speed, but I wouldn't pay more for 5.56 for the amount of difference in performance. I've never missed a target because I was shooting .223 instead of 5.56. I can find .223 cheaper, so that's all I shoot.
  13. You already named my favorite one. I'm a big fan of the decocker too.
  14. He was already a legend and he's getting faster! WOW
  15. Apparently my wife of 29 years likes ugly guys with no money. I work hard to keep her smiling, because there's a ton of competition out there in that category.
  16. We had a dozens of trick or treaters. As usual my job is to hide in the garage with the dogs and play music to drown out the sound of intruders. My wife gets all the fun of handing out candy.
  17. The only thing that amazes me more than the plethora of disgusting things that are for sale is the plethora of disgusting customers doing the shopping. I find myself unable to muster up any sympathy for the buyers in this market. I only feel sorry for the wives who suffer the same consequences as their cheating husbands.
  18. Exactly! This fella was clearly several sammiches short of a picnic and no action was taken. The mental health system has to be held responsible when known crazies so stuff like Card did or what good is a law saying nuts can't have guns? If this part gets fixed, we'd have less certified whackos with guns. Then some form of a red flag law might actually help keep the crazies who won't get mental health from killing people if we give them due process BEFORE we take their guns.
  19. I'm rarely in favor of this, but I think everyone in authority who decided to let him go w/out taking steps probably share some level of responsibility for his actions. If there was a mechanism to link his crazy to his ownership/purchase of guns and it was not utilized, I think there should be some consequences.
  20. Do you remember the Beltway Snipers in 2002? That was a pretty darn scary scenario and they were only using an AR-15.
  21. What am I missing? Assuming initial reports are accurate and this guy was committed for 2 weeks this summer, why does he still own guns? If you're a guy who like shooting and in this guy's case, guns may be his livelihood, would you seek mental help if you thought they'd take your guns? Do you think he lied about violent tendencies and/or suicide when he was being treated in order to keep his guns?
  22. While that's sage advice, it's akin to telling a drowning man to learn to swim. Whether I'm thrashing around in water over my head or trying keep my pants up while toting a gun, I must first focus on the here and now, LOL.
