You are the absolute best, thank you sooo much.

Since we're confessing... I've tried a dozen times to lose weight. All the programs I started didn't fit my lifestyle or budget. The budget part was usually the worse. Fresh fruit/veggies are expensive and double cheeseburgers are only a buck, know what I mean. Plus, I sit at a desk all day and ate dinner in front of the TV every night. You know that ain't a good plan. I've always been way too lazy to exercise, so wasting money on a gym I won't go to never worked either. I finally decided try again, shooting for a 2-3 pound loss per week. So far, so good...I'm down 65 pounds since around Halloween and haven't done one minute of exercise. My pants size is down 6" and I've dropped one "X" off my shirt size. I'll eventually have to start exercising to keep the progress going, but at least now it will be easier to with less weight to carry.

Can I get my name changed from "Think About It" to "BigK"? I'd certainly appreciate it.

Seems like a lot of mfg have a kydex/leather hybrid for sale now. That's good, since it gives us more choices. As much as I like my SuperTuck, I can't say I wouldn't go with a less expensive brand as long as it had metal clips. That Galco looks nice and you can't beat that price. I'd be curious to know about the quality of the leather when you get it in. Keep us informed.

Music City Tactical Shooters - RUN & GUN Match 03/19/2011
BigK replied to HOGNUT's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
WOW! That does look like fun! I can't wait! -
I also hear good stuff about Kholster too. They are kind of ugly, but at least they have metal clips.

I laughed at first, but then I realized...hey! you may be onto something here. Google has NOTHING! The bib could be full of MOLLE webbing to hang gear on like a chest rig. The sides would have to be cut lower (maybe button down near the hip instead of up past your waist), so you can have an inside the overall holster (I guess that'd be an ITO holster). Otherwise, you can just get a duty belt and OC full time

I feel your pain. My wife, bless her heart, says I'm not really overweight...I'm just a foot too short for my weight. I thought a pancake holster would be best, but like you said, they ride too high for my spare tire. My Crossbreed Supertuck is perfect though. The gun disappears and I forget its there now that I've discovered that I can tuck a tshirt behind my holster, put on my Perry suspenders, and wear an outer shirt to hide the rig and my suspenders! It's very comfy all day. Plus you can adjust how high the back rides so you get enough grip sticking out without jelly roll interference.

Among your choices I had to say G17, but the G34 is better. I'm surprised so many said G19. I would have thought the short sight radius would turn too many people off.

Devoting hundreds of pages to character development is the heart and soul of the book, IMHO. Afterall, it is a person's character that makes them choose right over wrong or in the case of the book...personal responsibility over socialistic ideals. Maybe she could have found a way to explain that the heroes' choices where the only sane options they had in fewer pages, though.

The problem with entitlements is that the politicians KNOW it's a sure-fire way to keep us dependent on them. They're like crack dealers! They get people strung out on gov't money, all the while knowing once given, it can NEVER be taken away. They'll let us go bankrupt before they'll cut entitlement spending enough to balance the budget.

OHSHOOT, we have demands that must be met!
BigK replied to Dolomite`s Breezy's topic in General Chat
too funny! I bet he has accomplices holding a Lorcin and a Bryco in case the 1911 fails. -
It does bother me a little, but only b/c they don't really check my DOB they just asked to see it to cover their a$$. They don't even look at it. They just look at it be able to say "I asked, they showed".

Commie. Ha! That's funny! I thought most people who are emotionally stunted, sociallly crippled, and uable to deal with the real world got that way from listening to NPR and watching Michael Moore films. Seriously though, I love the book and have read it several times. She's a bit idealistic and wordy in some parts, but overall I think everyone should at least read the Cliff's Notes. The movie could be good, but I don't have high hopes. Afterall, it's coming from Hollywood, the epicenter of left-coast lunacy. Where will they find actors, directors, and screenwriters who won't butcher the idea to make it marketable?

I bought one from CapByrd last fall and am very happy with it. I changed out the springs and fell in love with the trigger. Even with the Hogue grip, it's a little painful with .357 SD loads. It made me like revolvers so much that I wanna try a six-gun in IDPA...at least once.

The first I ever bought was a Bersa Thunder .380 for my wife. We used to live in a bad area and I worked nights. Now it only gets fired twice a year by me when I clean it. The first I got myself was a Ruger Mark II with a bull barrell. Still have it and expect to teach my grandkids (some day) to shoot with it. It still gets used at least once a month.

Question. My wife can't rack the slide on any of my handguns.
BigK replied to Will Carry's topic in Handguns
I taught my daughter the technique that LagerHead described. I told her to 1) get a firm overhand grip on the top/rear of the slide with her left hand, 2) hold the gun normally in her right hand (finger on the frame), 3) push that right hand forward, 4) while pushing with the right hand, resist the forward movement with her left hand. She can rack almost any pistol using this technique and she's not very strong. -
+1 on the P-01!! It's a great gun. It is very accurate & with shorter sight radius it makes for quick target transitions. It's rugged too...took mine to a class & put well over 1500 rss thru it in a weekend. It ran perfect. Only gripes: heavy DA trigger, gritty trigger 1st 300 rds, and fewer holster options than the most popular guns.

I'll definitely check these out. I haven't liked any I've had so far. I guess you have to see how you'll be using them before you know they work or not, unless you get good recommendations. Thanks

You guys ARE the best! I wound up with a cheap Fobus paddle style mag holder. It was functional & got me thru the day, but I hate paddles (harder to get on/off than belt syle).

Music City Tactical Shooters - IDPA Classifier 02/19/2011
BigK replied to HOGNUT's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
Today's classifier was a blast (no pun intended)! Thanks again to MCTS for your patience and hospitality. I can easily see this being a regular thing. Funny thing, I put "pending" on my IDPA #. Guess what was waiting by my front door when I got home...my IDPA membership kit! Pretty fast, since I just signed up online Monday. -
Unfortunately, price is an issue, due to limited funds. I have a $25 budget. You and Greg are awesome! I'm gonna try a couple of LGS on my way home. If I have no luck, I'll send a PM. Thanks guys.

I need a double mag holder for a Glock 9mm quick! I ordered this (http://www.opticsplanet.net/511-double-mag-pouches.html) and it arrived in time, but it holds regular double stack mags, not Glock mags. So, I gotta send it back. I need one for tomorrow morning, so I have to buy one today. Anyone know where I can buy one locally without getting gouged?
