After the 2nd squib, I've been very paranoid about maybe missing a charge, so I have a lamp clamped to my press. It's bent so that its light is shining right between stage 3 and 4, right before I put a bullet on the flared case. No doubt that it's possible that my press could miss a charge and when it did, it happened I wasn't looking and that round went into my Glock instead of one of my other guns and this all happened 4 trips to the range in a row. I hope you're right, because that's the easiest fix. I will watch WAY more closely to rule this out. It just seemed too coincidental, so I figured it couldn't hurt to ask for some ideas.

Last summer I got my first squib. It was from my one of my powderpuff reloads and it happened at a match, which scared the crap out of me. Think fast follow-up shots and adrenaline and you'll understand why. Luckily it was lodged so near the chamber that the next round wouldn't go into battery or who knows what would have happened. Someone lent me a dowel and I was able to finish up the match. Learned my lesson, upped the charge from 3.8gr of Bullseye to 4.0 gr, and never looked back. Recently, however, I've gotten 4 squibs in as many trips to the range. I've loaded and shot almost 3500 rounds of 9mm in the past year, mostly from my CZ Shadow and my CZ P-01. All 4 squibs were in my Glock 17, which I've been shooting more often lately since I did some upgrades (not related to the firing pin assembly). The first happened with a 124 gr plated bullet from Berry's loaded on my old Lee turret press. The next 3 were 124 gr FMJ from Precision Delta loaded on my new Dillon 650. I've been using the same powder charge all along and with no issues in any of my other guns, so it's hard to chalk it up to coincidence. I'm thinking maybe I need more powder due to the differences b/w the Glock's barrel and the others'; maybe the one squib with the Berry's was a fluke (partial load or weak primer) and the 3 others are isssues with the new FMJ's from Precision Delta; or maybe my new Dillon press is dropping powder less consistently than my Lee (seems unlikely). I'd appreciate some constructive input.

I know how you felt when you thought you lost that pin. When I was reassembling mine I BROKE it! CZ-USA only sells the new L-shaped ones, so count your blessing. With the new ones, the frame must be drilled to allow the "L" part somewhere to anchor. I lucked out and found a guy (Norm Sutton) in FL that makes them. I bought 4 In case he quits making them, since he appears to be the world's only source for this part. BTW...your gun looks fabulous! Are you gonna start reloading Makarov rounds now that you went to so much trouble? I did

Thanks David! I am very happy. I was missing TGO a lot only being able to login from home. Better than half my posts were made via Tapatalk. It makes using a smart phone for forums easy due to reformatting. I'd highly recommend it.

Congrats on the cool blue press. I liked reloading before. Dillon made made me love it. What caliber are you setting it up for?

Not sure how far you've gotten in the books, but I'm curious to know if you are as impressed as I am how well the show and the book parallel each other. They followed the books closer than anything I've seen turned into a show/movie. Great stuff!

There's so much cool stuff about to happen that I can't stand it. I'm impressed with how close they're sticking to the story...so far. I guess having the author on staff helps. They let us believe Ned was the main character through most of the 1st season and then killed him off. That should tell you that we're in for a bumpy ride! I worry the budget is too high and the cast will age before the filming catches up, but I hope not. They already picked many actors/actresses way older than the characters in the books. I hope we don't wind up with a 30 year playing a teenager by the end.

I doubt it'd feel good if I fell on my strong side hip and landed on my gun.

He admitted he'd been drinking earlier too. There's going to be an investigation of course, but the big question is why he was employed without a license. Buford Tune said the apartment will at least get sued over that, maybe fined.

I heard on the news tonight that a security guard in Madison, TN pulled a gun on a guy for not turning his music down. IIRC, he was off duty and had an expired security guard license. WSMV reported that some guy in an apt complex parking lot was blasting his tunes and the security guard asked him to turn it down. When the guy refused, he was held at gunpoint until cops arrived and arrested the security guard. I'll look for a link, but the reason I brought it up is they had Buford Tune on camera talking about what the guy did wrong and what they teach at his classes at APPS. It was the first time I'd seen his shot off pinky finger.

I only know what I've read about SOB carry. The cons Are that your arm is in an awkward position (self-imposed chicken wing) when drawing that is easily foiled in close encounters, if you fell on it you'd be likely to have spinal damage, and it's hard not to sweep yourself during the draw when in an oh $hi+ moment. Just what I've heard. I've also never ran with scissors, so YYMV.

Looks good...find a couple of studs in the wall, attach it with L-brackets, and you'll be off and running!

My most comfy OWB holster is a High Noon Slide Guard. It rides high, tight, and out of sight. My overall fave is still the Crossbreed SuperTuck. Even when I carry a full size pistol, it's easy to forget it's there (little to no printing). Like the others said...the belt is everything! I use a heavy Amish leather belt (<$30) or an Uncle Mike's kydex reinforced instructor belt. Either would be an excellent choice, IMHO. I tend to favor the "one is none, two is one, and three is better" philosophy someone eluded to earlier. So, I ALWAYS carry a spare mag and a backup gun. It may not be needed, but it makes me feel better knowing I have a backup plan.

Sounds like the perfect solution for the grips on my CZ 52!

The programmable/rotating targets sound really cool. I'll definitely have to check this place out when it opens.

I don't reload .223, but with other calibers I've reloaded the min and max OAL cause feeding issues. YMMV Aside from that, everything I've read backs up what the others have said. Shorter OAL will produce more case pressure than long with the same powder charge (unless your OAL is so long that the bullet is pushed against the rifling).

I think i've only thrown away around 10 or 12 cases in the past year or so due to cracks and/or severely bent. On the other hand, I've tossed at least a hundred .22, .40, and .380 that have gotten mixed in with my 9x19, 9x18, and .32s. How long before I'd have enough for a $20 bottle of powder? Anyone have a ballpark idea?

I have been pretty happy with my Kel-Tec P-32, but I've recently been wanting to trade up to a Kahr myself. Good luck with the search.

I like the finger grooves okay...or maybe I should say, they don't bother me. I mostly shoot CZs and with the exception of some excellent red wattle grips from Dennis and Gustav Marschalko on my refinished CZ 82, none have finger grooves. So, you may be onto something there. My only complaints about the older Gen Glocks were that they like holding a slippery brick. I had to readjust my grip after every shot and could barely get my little paws around them.

I think I gave Glocks a fair shake a while back. I picked up a Gen 3 Glock 34 for IDPA and just couldn't make myself like it. I ended up trading it off when I got a Gen 4 Glock 17. Now I'd have to say I'm a big fan of Glocks. If they hadn't made changes, I'dhave been left out of the Glock experience. Besides, it's not a zero-sum game, they still make the Gen 3. So, what's the gripe? Everyone's happy, right?

I'm half way thru the first book and up to date with the show. Absolutely great stuff! As good as it is to "see" things happen, nysos hit the nail on the head about how the book is written giving you glimpses into characters' minds. Both are awesome compliments to each other.
