  1. I read the previous thread. All the while, I was wondering why you were still hanging out here. After reading this, I understand. It took a big man to write what you just wrote. I wonder how many folks would take their lumps instead of just never posting here again.
  2. I realized a long time ago that there's something I like about every handgun I've ever seen so, I want one of each. That means my decision on which to get next always comes down to which has more to like. I don't hate any of them, but some will be pretty low on my priority list. The only real issue is funding. This lil gun would be pretty close to the top of my theoretical list of small 45s to get "some day". I like it.
  3. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/alabama-woman-shoots-home-intruder-to-protect-herself-and-her-ax-and-knife-wielding-daughters/ Great story, ended well too. No mention how old her "children" were, but I can't help but wonder how a butcher knife and an ax were handy weapons for them to arm themselves with at 3am with an intruder downstairs.
  4. I can't believe how seldom Sunday nights come around when you're dying to watch a certain show.
  5. Oh well, win some lose some. Thanks for getting back to us.
  6. At least the traditional zombies are slow enough that head shots are feasable. In fact, I think a running rager would be harder to hit anwhere than a stumbling WD-type would be to hit in the head. At least the rage "zombies" can bleed out from a wound. Plus, they need oxygen, so tear gas or worse would work. They can be poisoned or even crippled with booby traps and finished off later. Still, they're scary as hell, because they feel no pain, can run and climb, and solve rudimentary problems. At least there are more conventional means to kill them. One more thing... Something interesting from World War Z popped into my head. Zombies get trapped in cars, since they're too stupid to unbuckle seat belts or roll down windows enough to crawl out or open car doors. That means you could be stumbling across trapped zombies every time you open a door that has been shut for a while.
  7. I never paid over $15 for a knife until I got my first Red Class Benchmade (Monochrome in satin stainless). Several Blue Class ones later, I realized I hate the AXIS lock and traded/sold 'em but still have that Monochrome. Since I work in an office, I mostly carry a Kershaw Leek on weekdays for it's weight and slim profile. I'm becoming a big fan of Kershaw.
  8. If somebody makes a mean joke like "now you gotta get used to wearing shoes", don't listen to 'em. I hear the same crap about TN. Seriously, welcome.
  9. Benchmade steel takes a great edge that lasts well. I think they're pretty hard to beat for the money. BTW...check Sears, they have that same model for $80. I don't know how casual/serious you are about knives, but I bought a knock-about knife to save my Benchmade from some of my careless abuse. I got one of the H&K branded Benchmade knives. The steel isn't top notch, but for about 1/3 of the price...who cares?
  10. I like that magazine/flashlight holder, where'd ya find that?
  11. If I were the type to OC, even on occasion, I'd be more concerned. Since I never do and try to practice "stealth carry", I give a quick glance for a sign and/or metal detectors and go about my business. I, for one, will NOT intentionally carry past a properly posted sign. I'll go elsewhere. However, like ArmaDeFuego said...I ain't standing outside the door scouring every inch of doors and windows either.
  12. I get a ton of SPAM, because of GearHog. I wasn't sure it was them until I changed emails with them (brand new, never used gmail acct). I guess it's worth it. I've gotten some good deals from them. I have to admit, I'm pretty curious whether it's a sticker, air freshener, or plastic key fob. If it's a flashlight, I'll be letting y'all know.
  13. 1pointofview, glad to hear you already had the pocket holster part covered. Getting one of those little guns charged in an emergency could be problematic for anyone. I'd never consider my P-32 w/ one in the chamber unsafe and I'd also never consider trying to aim it in an OS situation either. That's why I put a Crimson Trace laser trigger guard on it. That's good stuff right there! I gotta remember that one. +1 for guns with decockers, but I can't think of a single good choice for pocket carry with a decocker right off the top of my head
  14. +1 on SOE Their gear's tougher than Chuck Norris
  15. You ain't kidding! Kind of makes me sick to think about it.
  16. As much as I hate to say this, it's their propery and our rights to NOT be searched end when we decide to enter their facilities. Our only choices are refusing to be searched in hopes they'll back down or leaving. Their private property rights trump all our rights. Luckily, most businesses are too smart to go too far. Like others said, these searches will likely end when everyone forgets about the shooting in CO. Until then, theaters probably feel like any pretenses of security will please more patrons than it pisses off.
  17. I've been looking at these lately too. I'd be interested to hear some first-hand knowledge instead of the usual copy/paste from the internet, which is mostly what I've seen.
  18. It's sad, really, when science becomes politicized. Many of these global warming "scientists" are well-educated and initially mean well. When it became known that some were fudging numbers to support their theories, I was disappointed. When it became known that most who had done so were getting gov't grants, I was disgusted. The gov't shouldn't hand out money to scientists willing to prove global warming exists.
  19. At 15 yards I'd say you're definitely improving fast. That Glock will come around, just stay focused on your grip and trigger discipline.
  20. I can't offfer anything but my sincerest condolences to someone who loses an animal. I can only imagine if it were a partner.
  21. Eotac operator pants Berry's bullets Sundrop Jameson Whiskey (preferably with Sundrop) High Noon holsters Citizen watches another vote for Merrell shoes (Keen is good too) Dillon presses iPhones Kia
  22. Real men still open doors for ladies and try their best not to fart/burp in front of them.
  23. Almost everything I know about being a real man is covered by Rudyard Kipling in "IF" (http://www.kipling.org.uk/poems_if.htm). Of course others would say real men don't read poetry, though.
  24. I've been using a kydex reinforced instructor's belt more and more lately too. I love leather, but these nylon/velcro belts are much easier to adjust and don't creak.
  25. I hope he's charged too, maybe something like gross negligence. He's too dumb to be carrying a gun around, if he's not smart enough to control it.
