Reminds me of the old joke: Why do Scottish men wear kilts? Because a sheep can hear a zipper from a mile away.
  2. I'll be darn, I just Googled it and it seems there are only a couple of major handcuff makers and the keys all look alike.

    Huh, huh, huh...You said penetration
  4. I've used their range, but that's about all. Lately, they're sounding kinda shady: I like Reloaders Bench and Outpost Armory best myself.
  5. Imagine what the Thomas Jeffersons and John Adams of the late 1700's would think of the 3-ring circus in DC. They envisioned gentleman farmers going to the capital and doing their duty for a term or 2 for the benefit of the country. The burdeon of leadership would make going back home to make money and be with family a sweet relief. Don't trust anyone with aspirations of a life of politics!!! We need term limits in Congress!!
  6. Somebody slap some edu-ma-cation on me here. Let's say, for the sake of argument, it is legal for a civie to have a handcuff key here in TN. 1) If I'm ever handcuffed, it'll be by an LEO for something they think I did or something I didn't mean to do. I'd suspect I'd make it worse using a hidden key to relieve myself of my restraints. When will I ever need one, then? 2) I don't know enough about handcuffs (thankfully, I've never had chance to wear any). Do they all use the same key? If so, that doesn't sound very smart.
  7. I've avoided 40's so far. I have 45s and 9mms mostly. I've been tempted to try a 40, though. If I do, it'll be a CZ.
  8. I have no doubt whatsoever that Beltman's belts are premium gear and probably worth it. However, I'm a hopelessly cheap shopper and found this site. I bought a brown one and a black one 2 years ago and I defy you to tell them from brand new. They are extremely thick and rugged with great buckles. You truly can't beat them for $32. http://www.hanksclothing.com/amish_belts_black_buy.html

Anyone know how to unsubscribe from a thread?
  10. They are not hollow base, unfortunately. I asked the guy if he had a set of calipers I could use, but didn't. I knew I should have stashed an extra in my emergency bag in the trunk. He took one out of the box and walked over to the bin and held it up beside a 185 gr JHP and said it looks about right to him. I wish my eyes were sharp enough to detect 2 thousandths of an inch difference b/w to bullets of different shapes...I'd be a helluva lot better shot. Nice guy, don't get me wrong...but that was just silly.
  11. I'd buy a refurbed 40 gb WD on NewEgg for $20 shipped. It has a 30 day warranty, but if it doesn't fail in the first month it'll probably be fine anyway.
  12. Guys, the match was great! I can't say enough about how smooth it all was today. Y'all rock!
  13. I found a deal at a local reloading shop today that was too good to be true on 200 gr LSWC today, $37.99/500. So, I bought 3 boxes. Got em home and grabbed the calipers. Turns out they're only .450! My barrel slugged at .451, so I have to take em back. That sucks.

You prefer the term "poop chute" or "corn hole"?

    Confused

I didn't think I could laugh harder than I did at the anus lube zombie/raptor reach-around rape fest...then I actually listened to the lyrics.
  16. I've enjoyed doing business with David on a couple ocassions too. He's a straight shooter and a fair man. That pup he totes everywhere he goes is a decent fellow too. Stopped @ A-H Reloading to look around. Found 500 200gr LSWC for only $37.99!!!! Got em home and they only measure .450 That sucks, long drive to return them.
  17. Yeah, found that out the hard way when I first started. Luckily, it was only 50 rounds to pull apart. The test rounds I loaded last week were done in even smaller batches (6 or less). Since I know all the 200gr swc functioned/shot well enough, that's what I'm buying. I need to reload/test enough to see whether I get excessive leading, but have no clue how many it'd take.
  18. I'll give that a try and see. I'm only crimping to between .470 & .471, but I'll pull a couple to see. Assuming that's not a problem, I guess I'm gonna order 1K of the 200 gr SWC. How many should I lube with Alox and load up to make a decent test for leading issues?
  19. Careful, it's rumored that CZs tend to multiply and take over a gun safe. How's the recoil? I've never shot a CZ in .40, have you shot other .40s as well?
  20. I'm sure it looks just fine, but burnishing the edges will actually compress the fibers permanently. It leaves the edges a little cleaner and smoother is all.
  21. That makes sense, so I just finished slugging my barrel and got .451". I'm assuming these .452 bullets should be good to go then, right? I'm not quite ready to take that step yet. I wanna make sure I'm smart enough to load lead bullets first. Then I may investigate casting my own.
  22. Dolomite brings up something I meant to ask earlier. How do you use Alox? Is it a liquid you tumble on and allow to dry before reloading? Most cast bullets you buy in bulk, like MBC, say they are already lubed, but if I were casting my own would I have to put something on the bullets before the Alox or is it enough on its own? Caster, please do that...I know I'd read it for sure. If you did a "how-to" more folks might be willing to try as well. In the meantime, Will the Alox reduce the leading to an acceptable level once I find an accurate load or do I still have to test multiple charges until I find the sweet spot? Is it possible that some bores never get to the point that they don't get a lot of lead?
  23. I have them bookmarked as a resource. They're listed as MBC by several major powder companies in their load data. Plus, they're every bit as cheap as snscasting.com. I wanna try MBC, but their site says allow up to 3 weeks for deliver. I don't usually think that far ahead, but I'd like to start.
  24. No, I haven't even heard of them. I can't seem to find anything with Google either.
  25. I'm not too far from you (La Vergne). When you get it, you're welcome to shoot me a PM. I have cutting tools, edge beveler, Tac Gum, Edge Kote, burnishing tools, pretty much everything you'd need to make it look pretty. You're welcome to shoot on over and do it right.
