  1. I could be wrong, but I suspect you already have an idea what you think is right in this case. Doing nothing when you were the one who recommended him doesn't seem right. If he doesn't know he's underperforming, that might be why he was in need of your help to get the job to begin with. I pray a wakeup call from a good friend will keep him out of need in the future.

    Cool Tool

That's a good price and it's the small ones I always have to replace. You can't beat $17 and I had enough Amazon reward points to get it free!

    Snow

The littlest one is half bulldog and half beagle. He runs across the porch and slides in the snow. The big one sticks his nose in the snow and throws it up in the air. LOL
  4. At least it stayed full size in that snowy and cold.

    Snow

Last time I stuck my wooden yardstick in a flat spot on the back porch it measured 6" exactly. But looking out the front window now, I'd say there closer to 8" on my Jeep now.

If y'all take Fairfield Pike in/out town, be careful. I always hated driving on that road when it's slippery.

    Snow

I worked at Kroger in Shelbyville my senior year. I remember them rolling all the milk carts out onto the floor and letting customers get their own once because they were selling so fast we couldn't keep the cooler stocked. It was hilarious.

    Snow

Amen to that!! I work from home, we stay stocked up on groceries, and don't have to be back at church until Wednesday, so the snow can come or go, I don't care.
  9. My wife's an RN and when we were sick she was mostly concerned with whether we had a fever or not. If I understood correctly, she said that was a better indicator of RSV than flu/covid. Two families at church almost lost toddlers to RSV a couple of months ago. It's scary.
  10. It's an interesting mental exercise, but I don't own a 1911 and although I've been doing it for decades, I don't think I do so frequently enough to worry myself. But what do I'm know, I'm also that idiot who doesn't avoid stepping on cracks at the risk of breaking my poor mother's back.
  11. Everybody at my house got sick a couple of weeks ago. It took about a week to get over the crud, so it was probably something viral like flu or coronavirus. I've learned to keep mucinex, benadryl, sudafed, advil, and robitussin on hand all the time to fight the symptoms, since docs can't do much when it's viral.
  12. This is news to me, been doing it for decades.
  13. I prefer Critical Defense, but I have Speer Lawman Gold Dot in most of my mags due to a good deal I found.
  14. Not that it will stop these idiots from passing a law they know is unconstitutional, but the SCOTUS has already ruled that an infringement on ammo is the same as an infringement on firearms. Sadly, the twits that pass these laws have unlimited tax payer dollars to defend these laws in court.
  15. I'm not familiar with the CMP process. What does a 1911 go for through them?
  16. I'm with @mikegideon, I don't recall ever seeing one of those gun buster signs you speak.
  17. When my kids asked me to take them somewhere, I blared embarrassing and they eventually quit asking. If had a weinermobile it would have happened much quicker.
  18. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. I couldn't agree with you more. The 11th hour is the worst time to hatch a plan.
  19. I can't imagine going back to the restaurant world at 53 yrs old. I see people quit their job in their 50s to chase a dream of owning a restaurant. They are some tough people. I couldn't do it.
  20. Interesting, after an early career in the restaurant management industry I went back to school for IT and have never been happier. Strange how things turn out. I'm way better at managing food, people, and time than I am at IT, but I like what I like, like you said.
  21. Doesn't it make you want to let your soul glow?
  22. You just made my day. This is fantastic news! "Resigning for health reasons" is so cliche, but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. I hope he doesn't let the screen door hit him where the good Lord split him. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
  23. I have a soft spot for pump action 22s. That is gorgeous!!
  24. I found an AR lower I knew I had, but had forgotten about. Turns out I also had enough spare parts to build the lower w/out buying one single part. It was kind of satisfying. It DOES pay to save up spare parts.
  25. That's what I remember him most for as well
