  1. Never under-estimate the scumbag-douchery of BSNBC.
  2. I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir here, but 10-ring is right. Everyone knows you can't sweeten iced tea at the table unless you use those God-awful pink/blue packages of toxin. The only alternative that works is a little known trick where the restaurant puts a squeeze bottle of simple syrup on the table. Still don't know what crocus cloth is, but I bought some 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper at Harbor Freight. It works almost as good as the polishing compound and felt wheel on a Dremel that someone else already mentioned.
  3. up/down votes are more like girls than lightbulbs... ...you can unscrew a lightbulb
  4. I bet if you skewer too many geeks on the spikes out front, the rear wheels will come off the ground
  5. Salsa so good you'll eat it with a spoon! 1 med red onion 6 green onions 1 red bell pepper 1 green bell pepper 1 whole bunch of cilantro (rinsed/stems removed) 4 cans fire roasted tomatoes (diced) 2 cans Ro-Tel hot diced tomatoes 1 can black beans (drained/rinsed) 1 can white corn (drained/rinsed) 1/4 cup lime juice X 2 1 tablespoon kosher salt 4 tablespoons minced garlic 1 teasoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon garlic salt 1 or 2 Haas avocadoes dice the onion & peppers finely, get as many of the stems out of the cilantro as possible and mince finely pour tomatoes (don't drain), corn, and beans over and stir stir in salt, garlic, and add half the lime juice (I also like to add red pepper flakes and/or cayenned, if nobody's looking) ...let that refrigerate overnight, if you can stand to wait... next day, test to see if you like more salt/pepper/garlic in yours, then dice the avocado and gently shake in a bowl with the remaining lime juice (this keeps the avocado from turning brown) and GENTLY (don't wanna mash the avocado) stir into salsa and it's ready this makes about a gallon of salsa, which will "keep" about a week in the fridge in theory, but mine never survives 3 days we eat it on scrambled eggs, in a bowl with a spoon, over grilled chicken breasts, and even with tortilla chips on occassion
  6. I just got a CMC mag Friday, haven't tried it yet. The problem I was having was mostly with Berry's 185 gr SWC. They jam up into the barrell/slide hood unless I make the OAL too long for the amount of bearing surface they have.
  7. I have a trauma kit that has almost everything you named. I collected it piece by piece, since I couldn't afford the whole list all at once. Luckily my wife's a RN and can buy from med supply places. Otherwise, I'd never have gotten some my items. She told me not to get a "kit" because they fill it with unnecessary stuff to get the item count up. She also still has all her text books from school, so I can learn from them too. What I want is some kind of EMT-like training for civies. My work is offering a Red Cross prep class next week, but I doubt it's more than a "duct tape and plastic sheets" class.
  8. I've only had a 1911 for a couple of months, but have reloaded dozens of batches with 7 different bullets in that time. So far, the only thing that doesn't work well are 185 gr SWC. All of the RN bullets whether bought or reloaded have cycled perfectly, but the 230 gr fmj are the most accurate. I'm considering Winchester Supreme Elite 230 gr JHP for defensive ammo. It doesn't seem to have any separation or failure to expand issues, from what I've been reading.
  9. That's exactly what I wanted and the price is good. I had ruled out the Mossy's due to the location of the slide release. It doesn't work with a pistol grip, but now that I don't want a pistol grip, this is perfect! Thanks.
  10. I prefer there to be NO political parties. I'd make displaying party affiliations tantamount to gang activity.
  11. I'll make do with a Lorcin .380 and a Victorinox Executive...cause that's how I roll. I'll just ninjy chop them zombies to death.
  12. My EDC for years was a Benchmade (forget the model), but i's all metal and heavy. I've never had another knife that holds an edge as well. For the last year or so, I've carried a black Kershaw Leek speedsafe. I absolutely love the blade shape, but I have to sharpen it a little more often. If I got a new knife to carry, it'd probably be a Benchmade H&K series. I like to stay at/around the $50 mark myself. Leaves me more spending money for reloading components

  14. I was under the impression that a land owner could trap or kill a wild critter on his own land, if said critter was causing destruction (e.g. eating garden). Anyone else heard this before? Maybe it's one of those pre-Internet myths.
  15. Commission a statue depicting his act of valor!
  16. I think the one thing that would help the most is term limits. They can't do as much damage, if they aren't there too long. I wish there was a way to only pay them if at the end of their 2 terms, we decide we're happy with the job they did.
  17. that's my favorite one so far
  18. This is sadly too true. There'll never be enough cops to actually prevent crimes. The old saying will always be true...when seconds count, the police are only minutes away. At least our founding realized self-defense was primarlily our responsibility. Places like NYC are trying hard to fix that.
  19. I recalll that red/blue map they show at every election. It already reflects the fact that geographically most of the country has one set of ideals. The small pockets of dissent are so densely populated that they can dictate policy. If it weren't for the electoral college, every president would be like Barry O.
  20. IF I were gonna carry a Glock 26, I'd use a flush fit mag in the gun and carry a G19 mag for backup...just saying. Sometimes being a bug guy has advantages...I can carry a Glock 17 IWB and barely print (depending on the shirt).
  21. I wish my Kodiak had more padding too. I usually have mine full enough with other stuff to keep it from jostling around. Still, a laptop sleeve might not be a bad idea. How do you like the front outside pockets? Freakin' huge, huh?
  22. I had heard that part about cops seeing the pocket clip and getting you for not concealing it. IIRC, it was intrepeted as some form of brandishing to intimidate or something like that. Either way, what if you have a Leatherman on your belt? Reckon they'd come after you, since they know it's a tool more than it's a weapon?
  23. I have both of the Streamlights too. They are very handy and the batteries last a decent while. My bad...my Stylus is NOT the pro, it's the one that takes AAAA batteries.
  24. I'm as impressed that he spent enough time outside in -40 degree temps for that significant of an amount of time. And, he was eating snow, which lowered his body temp. I think he was secretly a yetti.
  25. This guy is so out of touch, if he believes that.
