  1. Welcome to the party, Mike. I see what you mean about this season being a let down, but only in comparison to the 1st 4 seasons. This season is still better than most of the crap on TV.
  2. Starting to look a lot more like everyone overreacted, including the shrink that ordered more evaluation and the 1st judge that agreed and ordered the 30 days. Good thing he had big shot lawyers. The average joe would've been railroaded.
  3. Ha! I feel like an idiot. Someone on another forum said the handle was "slick". Duh, now that I reread it, I realize they must mean "nice/cool"...I thought slippery when I saw it and it stuck in my head. My bad.
  4. Love the look. I hear the handle is a lil slippery. Any truth?

    Food & Drink

Tonight's supper was boring (turkey sandwich and broccoli cheese soup), but yesterday for lunch I went to McNamara's Irish Pub. You ain't lived til you've had their Caledonia Scotch Eggs. In case you aren't "in the know", that's a mild Irish sausage patty wrapped around a boiled egg and flash fried to cook the sausage. It's served with a rustic stone-ground mustard.
  6. Seems to me we only have part of the story. That's a lot of agencies working together to bring in a guy who only made the comments we've read so far. There's got to be more to it...there just has to be, right? I don't subscribe to the idea that gov't agencies are just here to serve the people, but I also don't subscribe to the idea that they're just here to harm the people either.
  7. Good stuff guys, keep it coming. I'm learning something, here.
  8. For anyone overly concerned about getting made, the NRA has the solution for you...a holster that displays your carry permit. http://www.nrastore....c=2817&p=SA 333 I hear it looks real nice next to a carry badge. Seriously though, assuming you're asking b/c you prefer to keep yours out of sight, I think you're fine too.
  9. Didn't pay attention to that...good eye. Hope one of the cops told her that was a big No No.
  10. There's a reason why guys like Chris Leben are big draws on a card...and it ain't his record. I'd much rather watch a scrapper give it everything and take risks than to see guys like Machida who game to win. The new lighter weight divisions are a big plus for me too. Once the fighters get over 205# it's less fun to watch the fights (too slow paced).
  11. I absolutely LOVE MMA. I got a little burned out watching it though, thanks to Dana White. He's the Don King of MMA and has turned a large part of the MMA world into everything I hate about heavyweight boxing from the 80's forward. He has pimped out the UFC so bad that a working man can't afford to be a fan any more. Who can afford to drop $50 on a PPV every single month? Strikeforce is where it's at. Those guys are trying to win instead of trying not to lose. After watching Julie Kedzie and Miesha Tate, I'm really liking WMMA too. Edit: BTW...that truly is an EPIC stache
  12. Some day those girls are going to grow up and invite boyfriends over to meet mom.
  13. I, for one, live in a glass house. Yet, I've thrown a stone or 2 in my day. I noticed throughout all the name-calling and mud-slinging in the previous thread, he didn't reciprocate. I'm just saying...I would have.
  14. I read the previous thread. All the while, I was wondering why you were still hanging out here. After reading this, I understand. It took a big man to write what you just wrote. I wonder how many folks would take their lumps instead of just never posting here again.
  15. I realized a long time ago that there's something I like about every handgun I've ever seen so, I want one of each. That means my decision on which to get next always comes down to which has more to like. I don't hate any of them, but some will be pretty low on my priority list. The only real issue is funding. This lil gun would be pretty close to the top of my theoretical list of small 45s to get "some day". I like it.
  16. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/alabama-woman-shoots-home-intruder-to-protect-herself-and-her-ax-and-knife-wielding-daughters/ Great story, ended well too. No mention how old her "children" were, but I can't help but wonder how a butcher knife and an ax were handy weapons for them to arm themselves with at 3am with an intruder downstairs.
  17. I can't believe how seldom Sunday nights come around when you're dying to watch a certain show.
  18. Oh well, win some lose some. Thanks for getting back to us.
  19. At least the traditional zombies are slow enough that head shots are feasable. In fact, I think a running rager would be harder to hit anwhere than a stumbling WD-type would be to hit in the head. At least the rage "zombies" can bleed out from a wound. Plus, they need oxygen, so tear gas or worse would work. They can be poisoned or even crippled with booby traps and finished off later. Still, they're scary as hell, because they feel no pain, can run and climb, and solve rudimentary problems. At least there are more conventional means to kill them. One more thing... Something interesting from World War Z popped into my head. Zombies get trapped in cars, since they're too stupid to unbuckle seat belts or roll down windows enough to crawl out or open car doors. That means you could be stumbling across trapped zombies every time you open a door that has been shut for a while.
  20. I never paid over $15 for a knife until I got my first Red Class Benchmade (Monochrome in satin stainless). Several Blue Class ones later, I realized I hate the AXIS lock and traded/sold 'em but still have that Monochrome. Since I work in an office, I mostly carry a Kershaw Leek on weekdays for it's weight and slim profile. I'm becoming a big fan of Kershaw.
  21. If somebody makes a mean joke like "now you gotta get used to wearing shoes", don't listen to 'em. I hear the same crap about TN. Seriously, welcome.
  22. Benchmade steel takes a great edge that lasts well. I think they're pretty hard to beat for the money. BTW...check Sears, they have that same model for $80. I don't know how casual/serious you are about knives, but I bought a knock-about knife to save my Benchmade from some of my careless abuse. I got one of the H&K branded Benchmade knives. The steel isn't top notch, but for about 1/3 of the price...who cares?
  23. I like that magazine/flashlight holder, where'd ya find that?
  24. If I were the type to OC, even on occasion, I'd be more concerned. Since I never do and try to practice "stealth carry", I give a quick glance for a sign and/or metal detectors and go about my business. I, for one, will NOT intentionally carry past a properly posted sign. I'll go elsewhere. However, like ArmaDeFuego said...I ain't standing outside the door scouring every inch of doors and windows either.
  25. I get a ton of SPAM, because of GearHog. I wasn't sure it was them until I changed emails with them (brand new, never used gmail acct). I guess it's worth it. I've gotten some good deals from them. I have to admit, I'm pretty curious whether it's a sticker, air freshener, or plastic key fob. If it's a flashlight, I'll be letting y'all know.
