  1. there had to be 150 misfires in that can from only the past 2 weeks
  2. If this had been a teacher rejecting a paper about gay rights, communism, or racism, the teacher would have already been fired and stoned in the city's town square.
  3. LG Outdoors has it for $6.37, in stock.
  4. I'd like to mount a long eye-relief scope, like a scout rifle, on my Chinese Type 53 (Mosin clone), but I hear the rear sight mounts suck.
  5. Closest I've come to that is finding loose .22 LR rounds in my range pickups...you're so lucky.

    Good shot man!

Instant Karma is a bitch, ain't it?
  7. Congrats on loading and shooting your own ammo without blowing yourself up! It's definitely a cool feeling. I've been trying to tell my friends to get started, but they say they can't afford to. I'm of the mind that they can't afford not to.
  8. I wanna shake the man's hand that puts a black polymer stock on a Mosin to lighten it up, takes it out to the range to put 100 rounds through it, and comes home without a bruise.
  9. 50 yards and a safe backstop would make my freakin' day! Beats the crap out of 50', a privacy fence, and neighbors w/in spitting distance.
  10. I watch this show every week. I like how they always offer bad/good/better/best alternatives. It always makes me think and that is a good thing.
  11. What's your start-up cost on that SS operation?
  12. ...beat me to the punch
  13. If you're drinking the good stuff, you're fine, right?
  14. I hope it's better than the last one in Lebanon. There were a 3 good tables with guns, the rest was a flea market.
  15. I'm sure there's lots of things growing in the woods that is illegal to sell, especially a few hundred miles north of here, LOL.
  16. Better aim good when you go pee at The Flood Zone, you don't wanna get that "sprinkled on the seat" bill. I bet the sheriff will run a DNA sample and track you down for them.
  17. My sister told me she used to go mushroom hunting to make extra money. I just assumed she meant "shrooms", not Morels.
  18. I was just reading the one I got too and....hold on there's some guys in black SUVs in the driveway, be right back...
  19. I'd definitely take a couple of each. Glad to see you're doing this. Can't wait for the T-shirts. Please do a pre-poll on T-shirts to get size demand estimates instead of assuming everyone wears md, lg, and xl
  20. I just picked up a Saiga last weekend and I've been reading/watching videos about converting it. Sounds like a good idea, but I kind of like the sporterized configuration. Plus, I'd prolly just screw it up.
  21. Take a look at http://www.southernohiogun.com . You have to have a C&R license on file to see availablility, but you can see their current catalog. It'll have relatively up-to-date prices, but more importantly lots of pretty pictures and a good idea of what you can get with your license. I can't agree more with the CZ 82 recommendations. It's one of the most accurate lil guns I own and it feels like a million bucks in your hand. I ordered a second one in January on a Thursday from SOG for $260 and it arrived the following Monday. Nagants are tempting for the price, but if you've shot one, you'll feel like you over paid, LOL. They have nearly a 20# trigger pull and that's NOT an exaggeration. But, they're neat and unique and you CAN shoot them SA. They recoil about like a .22 or a good pellet gun. For about $40 more you can get a Taurus 82 revolver in .38 Special. Tokarevs are neat too and decently priced. They have a VERY powerful round that rivals many modern cartridges. Only problem is they are very uncomfortable to shoot due to the 90 degree grip angle. CZ52s have a little better angle, but they aren't any more fun to shoot unless you get the 9mm barrel too. The 2 C&R handguns that have been tempting me the most is the Walther P-1 (9mm - $340) and the FEG (9mm - $330). I'm leaning toward the FEG, b/c it looks like a CZ 75 clone.
  22. Or a darn good used car...but with current gas prices you need a half mile headstart to get out of his range for the same price. Seriously bada$$ setup, OP. I hate you.
  23. I heard about this on the radio today. GREAT news, hope it works and wish the idea would spread. I don't want LEOs shooting revolvers at criminals who have fully auto AKs that were smuggled into the country, but I don't want innocent law-abiding citizens to either.
  24. I've been wanting one fore a LONG time.
  25. As part of the shooting community, I feel like it's more my responsibility than the safety officers (if there are any) to watch my six. They are there to keep the range safe, so every second they spend helping a new shooter is a second someone just as inexperienced isn't being supervised properly. I'm not trying to be mean, but beginners should take responsibility for their own education instead of expecting the facility where they shoot to instruct them. There are classes they can pay for, free books at the library, and excellent videos online at reputable sites like NSSF.org and NRA.org. If someone doesn't realize these resources are out there, they should suck it up and ask someone they know is experienced for help. There's no shame in that, in fact, I'd say it shows a lot of dedication and initiative. I've had complete strangers ask me for advice/help at the range and I'm always flattered and eager to help. So, I agree with a previous post. Don't avoid crowded public ranges. Be more involved and civic-minded. We complain all the time about the state of this country when we can often be part of the solution.
