  1. sure does! I'd like to meet his parents, so I could tell them what a fine young man they've raised. Clearly the village and the school system failed to brainwash this one.
  2. I thought shooting out the tires of the getaway car only worked with Hollywood guns. Luckily they didn't have that kind of gun, b/c we all know that Hollywood bullets would have made the car flip end over end with a 1/2 twist and explode, injuring God only knows how many people. I hope they lose their HCP, at the least...freakin' mall cop wannabe guntards.
  3. About the most impressive shot I've ever seen. My first instinct was...fluke. Then I thought, you can't really say it's a fluke, he did exactly what he was trying to do. Repeatable?
  4. If OWB Kydex is what you prefer, you can't go wrong with Safariland or BladeTech.
  5. I don't blame you, I'd stick with Ruger too. I know I'm foolish over my MKII with the bull barrel.
  6. It's them more than their music. My wife just LOVES them. I refer to them as the retarded Beatles.
  7. read any of the comments? best one... "150th headshot - jungle cammo unlocked"
  8. Any song by The Monkees. I even got the heebee jeebees just typing their name.
  9. I can't believe nobody has expressed any sympathy for the poor victim in this story. Let me be the first to wish him a speedy recovery of his stolen Kimber.
  10. You'd think with rampant stories on the news about rapes, abductions, and killings that girls would be especially careful. I know first hand that they are not, however. My 16 yr old believes I'm a paranoid idiot just for wanting the front door to stay locked all the time. I guess bad things only happen to OTHER people.
  11.   I'm changing my argument to "eww, that's just gross"
  12. I've only shot one person's handloads besides my own. A friend was working up a powder puff .38 spl load for his GP100. We had talked about his recipe, so I know he was at half or less than than the max. Plus, a Ruger GP100 would not likely blow up in my hand even if double charged a case. I have let others shoot my 9mm handloads, though. I know that's taboo too, but I also know how careful I am when reloading.
  13.   I don't see how any mistranslation can explain away Matthew 5:28. I listed it first, because if lustful thoughts are a sin, it stands to reason that other sinful thoughts are as well. As far as that being hard to live up to, I can't disagree with you there. I can only say that I'm less likely to do wrong, if I recognize I'm heading there...kind of like an ounce of prevention, ya know? I won't touch these last 2 words or this can go on forever. I'll just say I respect you for putting up a good fight to passionately defend your stance. It shows you aren't a blind follower, you thought out your position. I'd much rather walk away agreeing to disagree than to walk away thinking I've been arguing with a fencepost.
  14. There are sins of the heart and sins of the flesh. Your defense of unconsumated homosexuality relies on the premise that only sins of the flesh are sins. Sins of the heart are what I always understood to be impure thoughts. The Bible definitely warns against them as being sins as well... Matthew 5:28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matthew 15:19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person. 1 Corinthians 6:10 Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 John 2:16-17 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

    XDs 9mm

I just meant that typically, a .45 is heavier than a 9mm. Since Springfield intended to release the 9mm first, I see that the 9mm barrel would have to be much thicker to use the same slide and frame.
  16. I tried to blow up the pic to see detail. Best I can tell, I see no boning marks. Yet that's impressive detail.   Are you using a vacuum press?
  17. Careful Romad7, that's how it starts...long trips. Then you start listening while you commute, run errands, and mow the yard. Soon, you've got earphones in your ears every chance you get.

    XDs 9mm

I was making a Crossbreed-style holster for a co-worker's 9mm Shield a while back. It gave me a good opportunity to compare them side-by-side. I like the Shield's grip better, but I liked EVERYTHING else about the XD-s better.   Ironic how the XD-s 9 is heavier than the XD-s 45. At 23 oz, the XD-s 9 is heavier than a Glock 17...that's freakin' weird.
  19. +1   I'm a hopeless audio-book junkie (200+GB @ 96 kbps)!!    I've used Overdrive before with the R.E.A.D.S. system too. The selection isn't awesome at the library website, though. So as long as you don't expect something like Audible or Amazon, you'll be happy. Also, I found many titles ripped at 64 bit or lower, which isn't very good quality...until you remind yourself that you just saved $40 bucks not having to buy it.   It's completely worth it, especially for the classics you faked reading when your were in HS, LOL
  20.   That's because there are so few cool people left at your work...now that me, Theresa, Ellie, and Clint are gone.
  21. I find myself attracted to the KRISS Vector Carbine. If it were wrong to merely like them or fantasize about having one, I'd surely be guilty of having impure thoughts. I've yet to act on that attraction, however.   I've never been alone with one; never taken one home with me, and never committed any acts with one. Given half a chance, wrong or not, I'd almost definitely take things to the next level...experimenting physically with the object of my attraction.   So, I guess what I'm saying is that all that stands between me having an innocent attraction and a full-blown, lead-flinging, carnal experience is opportunity...like stumbling across one alone in a tent on a BSA camp out, led by a Scout Master that owns a Vector too and thus condones my attraction.
  22. No surprises, there was a gun show here this weekend. I'm sure a bunch of NY'ers returned home with their "loophole" weapons and were anxious to try them out.
  23.   I've been flooded at work this morning with people asking me why they weren't invited. I'm guessing the 3 guys from work must have really enjoyed it too, if they're talking it up this much.
  24. I had that tune in my head the whole time I was typing...wondering how to work in "Momma cooked a breakfast with no hog", but figuring few would get the reference. thanks for "getting it" guys.
  25.   I don't agree that one sin is being singled-out by churches or the BSA at all, nor do I believe they are turning a blind eye to other sins.   What we have here is a group of people who wish to flaunt their sinfulness, while demanding acceptance. The difference it seems you are willing to overlook is that the average Christian (using them as an example, since this thread is about a Christian church's actions) doesn't wave their sins in peoples faces like a flag, thinking their fellow Christians should tolerate OR accept it as if it weren't immoral in the eyes of the Christian God they voluntarily accepted. Most realize that they are imperfect, regardless of how hard they try to do right and are ashamed of their transgressions. They are trying to be better Christians, not trying to change the rules, so they can slip in on a technicality.   That's not the case with openly gay Scouts. They don't see their self-identifying trait as a sin, so they seem to think others should ignore the sinfulness of the very characteristic they choose to identify themselves with.   I get the impression that some (not saying you, just "some" in general) want to rewrite Christian doctrine in terms of their personal ideals. These same people, while demanding that Christians remove homosexuality from God's LONG list of sins, are the same who accuse Christians of picking and choosing which sins they demonize. In actuality, if a group of adulterers, blasphemers, murderers, or liars were petitioning for acceptance, they'd be met with equal resistance. The difference is nobody in their right mind would question their exclusion. It's the non-Christians who want to choose which sins are real sins and demand that Christians bend their religious beliefs to meet their ideas of what they want Christianity to be.
