  1. Margaret Thatcher passed away this morning at the age of 87. We could do a lot worse for a first female president than the likes of her.   http://xfinity.comcast.net/articles/news-general/20130408/US-BRITAIN-THATCHER/   R.I.P. "Iron Lady"

    Remember When

Remember when politicians thought The Constitution was something to abide by instead something that impedes their agenda? There were conservatives on both sides (and you could barely tell them apart by their voting record).
  3. The only thing better than old memories is making new ones. Sounds awesome!
  4. I was leaning toward a Glock 36 until I fondled an XD-s. I really love this little gun. It shoots phenomenally welll for subcompact, but what surprised me most is how light the percieved recoil is. My favorite thing is obviously how easily it conceals. I work in an office and NOBODY knows I have it on me. Another thing I like is that the mags are so thin you can stash a couple in a pocket holster in your front pocket pretty easily. I'm a dyed in the wool 9mm CZ guy, but this little gun is my favorite carry piece by a long shot now. If you can make it down to the TWRA range near Mt. Juliet with some ammo, I'd be glad to let you give it a run.
  5. I don't know...with all those fancy upgrades and all. :)
  6. I can tell you're a purist when it comes to the SKS.
  7. I think you're absolutely correct. This isn't like gas/groceries that we can't do without. However, most of this panic buying comes from fear and that's a hard thing to overcome.
  8. Buys all his gear from The Pink Page
  9. THIS IS NOT CAPITALISM. The main component that makes capitalism work is a laissez-faire policy by the feds. We do NOT have a hands-off economy from which the gov't is not meddling. The gov't is drastically throwing off the balance of the ammo market. The artificial demand you see is a DIRECT result of threats by the gov't to pass harmful laws. How can supply and demand meet at a mutually agreed upon price when there is a constant threat from Obama to trample our rights? In a true capitalist market, CTD could no afford to price their ammo this high because NOBODY would buy. There would be enough supply that ANYONE could find an alternative source. You can argue that this is temporary and they're priced like this while the market seeks balance, but only new markets need to seek balance. The ammo market is unbalanced because we don't have a reliable administration/congress in Washington. CTD is acting in a self-serving manner which is also required for capitalism to work, but it's coming from a false direction. They don't have pallets of this overpriced ammo to move. They have a very limited amount with no expectation to reliably replace it. That is the only reason they are gouging their customers. Again, artificial demand fueled by fear of gov't interference is why they are selling $60 boxes of ammo...NOT capitalism. $60 boxes of ammo are a symptom of a free society...not a free market.
  10. Loves re-enacting the "tuck scene" from Silence of the Lambs
  11. It also only includes people OF WORKING AGE and they've never included farm workers or generational welfare recipients in the unemployment numbers. The crappy part is that all these stats that politicians spin are base on 2 surveys (payroll survey and household survey), both of which have huge drawbacks.   Part of the recent decline in the labor participation rate is due to people whose unemployment benefits have run out. These people are removed from the unemployment calculation as "no longer looking for work". Many have moved back in with parents or transitioned to welfare/food stamps.   Here's a good link: http://www.bls.gov/cps/cps_htgm.htm
  12. Congrats, I have the full size model and have been very impressed with it's performance.
  13.   I couldn't agree more. Spanking works, when administered properly.
  14. pretty simple stuff...translates well into just about any language  :pleased:
  15. I sent them a message on FB asking if their site is meant as a joke.
  16.   As usual, I'm clearly in the minority on this.   Must be something wrong with me if I don't like rails on 1911s and songs dubbed over C-rated movies from the 70's.   I DID like that song about Goodwill, so cut me a little slack.
  17. Some doofus at my last job showed me one of these videos. I guess I'm not cool enough to see the funny.
  18. Never quite outgrew playing with Barbie dolls in the bathtub.
  19. Excellent, thanks for the clarification. That's almost exactly what I thought it meant.
  20. Applied for carry permit for a sling shot. Bet he's not the only one
  21. Very impressive work. I can't believe how clean those lines are and they stay clean all the way thru every curve. I can't even tell if he ever picked up a tool and moved it.   I've got some old shotties I'd love to have something like that done to.
  22. Once locked himself in his car, had to sleep there for 2 days until someone let him out.
  23. Has a "Roll Tide" tattoo on his butt that he only shows to his closest friends.
  24. He believed ANY campaign promise...EVER.
  25.   I'd like some clarification on assault vs battery. IIRC, you can assault someone without even touching them (e.g. throwing a punch vs landing a punch)?   Does this same hold true for agg. assault (i.e. you attempted to use a weapon on them)?
