That's a darn good point and bringing the gun to midline to take advantage of larger muscle groups definitely takes the gun "out of the box" where you should be operating.

I have to agree with Breaking Bad and Sopranos making my short list of best TV series of all time. Game of Thrones has to sneak in there somewhere too.

You're the first knowledgeable person I've known that will vouch for their accuracy. Good to know. You have me reconsidering how many of those accuracy complaints come from gun newbies and/or the guys I see at the range with holes splattered all over a 12" target from 5 yds. LOL Curious, did the wife's Witness with replacement sights still come in under the CZ price? I have a helluva time finding CZ sights without going online. Were the target sights CZ compatible?

Excellent way of explaining that, leroy.

I wouldn't even try the reduced power recoil, if it were up to me. It may make it easier to rack the slide and assist with this issue, but you're just introducing more abuse to the slide stop, barrel link, and barrel legs. You'll get more peeing over time by reducing the spring weight and damage your gun. About the powder charge...going from 4 grains to 5 grains of Bullseys costs a mere $0.003 (3 tenths of a penny) per round. So, cost savings isn't a realistic factor. I agree with most that this should be your culprit. 5.0 gr of Bullseye with a 230 gr fmj should just get you over 700 fps and enough power to compress the standard spring and cycle the action.

I taught my wife, daughter and sisters to use the technique in the link peejman posted. My sisters are rather petite lil thangs and lack any semblance of upper body strength. Both could lock the slide back on any of my guns once they stopped trying to muscle the slide rearward instead of anchoring the slide and pushing the frame forward.

At what point should I have stopped hoping Walt gets away with it all? I mean, I recognize he's a bad guy, but, but....
-
I doubt Hank will back off and I doubt Jesse will rat Walt out. Marie is the one who surprised me, suggesting he kill himself. Dang, that's a lot of hate and that was before she saw the tape. I wouldn't be surprised if any of the 3 tried to kill Walt.

I'll this to my list of reasons I prefer to shoot at an outdoor range.

Glad to hear it wasn't worse and that it sounds like there's no permanent damage.

Don't be afraid to try an Android tablet. Their Jelly Bean and Ice Cream Sandwich OS are both very good. They aren't as sexy and fluid as iOS, but they're faster and more powerful. ASUS makes a really good tablet called a Transformer Pad. It gets pretty good reviews and can save you about $100 over the iPad4. You can buy a refurbished iPad for about the same price, but it'll be an iPad2 (which you DON'T WANT for business use) or iPad3. That ASUS is definitely better than an old iPad and benchmark tests say it's considerably faster than the new iPad. It may, however, come down to what is compatible with your work software.

Hendersonville Gun Show this Weekend , Aug. 24 & 25
BigK replied to Grunt67's topic in Events and Gatherings
I went today too. There was plenty to see and plenty of room to get around in there. I found a few things I couldn't live without, but not much. -
I tried one on a Gum Creek vehicle holster mount under the steering wheel of my truck. I didn't wind up using it, but I still think the idea behind the holster isn't as bad as everyone lets on. Despite not using it, myself, I have to admit that you probably couldn't break the tip off inside the barrel without trying real hard. I know someone who carries with one and he likes his. I mean, it isn't for everyone (including me), but I don't think they're a front-runner for worst idea in the firearm industry.

I picked up one in a trade a while back, but it looks so clean I'm reluctant to shoot it. They worth anything?
-
Not that it matters, but I think you did the right thing. The old phrase don't $hi+ where you eat has multiple uses, IMO. I've never "been made" in public or at work (that I know of), but I'd do what you did, if it happened.

Joe Carr to run against Democrat incumbent Lamar Alexander...
BigK replied to Luke E.'s topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yeah, I wish TN would change to closed primaries. I don't like the idea of a bunch of Dumascraps getting to help nominate the Republican candidates. I know it swings both ways, but I bet the R turnout at the D primary is very low. -
Why don't these idiots stay home and poop in their own backyard instead of going to Washington and trying to ruin things for the rest of us?

Glad I'm not the only one with this affliction. Over the past 6 or 8 years I've gotten into leatherworking, woodworking, reloading, survival gear, kydex molding, and that's just the main hobbies. I find that once I have all the stuff I need for any of these, I get started on something new. I don't lose interest in the others, I just lose the obsession. Cool thing is, I can pick back up with any hobby and make stuff as needed. One thing that's always been there is my taste for guns, I can just afford it better now than I ever could before.

I'm glad they put up a poll and I'm glad you posted it. However, they screwed the poll up early, letting people vote multiple times. Just saying...not sure we can trust the results. -

Primaries are the perfect time to "risk" a vote. Believe it or not, I'd vote for Basil Marceaux over Alexander and consider it a vote well spent. Somebody's gotta get this traitor out of office and Mr. Carr is just the man to do it. He's one of the good guys, IMHO. -
I'm not a serious knife owner, I'm a little more laid back, myself. Nonetheless, most of my knives have the washers. I'm curious to see what the experts say. I've prolly been using the wrong lube on them.

That would be the coolest!!! If we could get an upper and a lower with matching numbers and logos, I'd be very very happy. Of course, I'd still be happy if all I can get is a TGO lower and/or plain upper.

I'm so happy to soon be moving back to the dev team as a dba.

Hmm, sounds about right, actually.

Since all I have is a mountain bike, my wife's Kia, and my F-150....I guess I'd throw a bike in the back of a pickup. More likely, I'll bug in.
