  1. Interesting stuff there, Bersaguy.   Who'd have thought an appointed gov't worker was less of an expert on their specialty than an average joe? </sarcasm>
  2. The money required to set up and maintain a list of HCP holders for a single state seems quite expensive unless you have big plans for it.
  3. For damage that substantial, I'd have called the police that night and had a report on file for my insurance. I can see not wanting friends to get in trouble for leaving the scene, but they aren't friends if they DID leave the scene.   Call me a jerk, but I even called the police to report that my own 16 yr old daughter took one of our cars without permission. She hit our mailbox on the way out of the driveway and damaged the car. I'm a strong believer in tough love.
  4. http://dailycaller.com/2014/01/24/newspaper-conglomerate-considers-building-massive-database-of-gun-owners/   I seem to recall the NRA winning a case against someone for publishing this kind of info. They won based on rights to privacy, IIRC. However, if these people don't publicize the database, what can be done? Better question is obviously, what do they plan to do with the information?
  5. I took a break from the story for about a month. Now that I'm back at it, I don't know how I was able to stop. I'm up to about a year after "the day".
  6. better than I was expecting too
  7. gotta love fart humor...never gets old
  8. If it's not for sale, why is it on the counter?
  9.   I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of it.   They make several compact 45's that have caught my eye.
  10. The problem with crappy choices at the poll is that it's a tough choice and we don't like tough choices. I suggest that it takes a bigger man to hold his nose and vote for the lesser of 2 evils than it does to stay home. Sometimes when you jump into a fight you have to choose between getting cut and getting shot.    The GOP isn't going to back more conservative candidates in the primaries because a bunch of people stayed home in the last general election. They are already 100% convinced they need to go after the middle instead of the extremes. If the middle finds Alexander palatable, but thinks Carr is too conservative, WE STILL LOSE THE ELECTION. Alexander isn't a RINO anymore, he's a mainstream Republican. The party has changed that much.   The only way to avoid casting a vote for a Republican you don't like is to make sure they don't win the primary. The country didn't prove me wrong in 2012, Romney won the primary. The more conservative candidates were too principled to step aside and leave ONE conservative to duke it out with Romney, so he ran away with it. Then we tried to show the GOP by staying home and now we have 4 more years of hell. I guess we showed them, huh?
  11.   I'd imagine that FL has their database wide open to facilitate reciprocity with friendly states. Hostile states may have access also, because of this, but not sure.     I agree...sticks it to the taxpayers, who elect officials, who appoint idiots, who hire officers, who operate like this. Hopefully everyone in the chain gets the picture and rethinks things, but sadly, I doubt it.
  12. I played with one at the same show this past weekend and almost bought it. I liked everything about that light.. IIRC, it was cheaper at the show than I'm seeing online. Best deal I can find at a reputable store is $77 w/ free shipping on OpticsPlanet. Did you find a better deal online incl. shipping?
  13. I hope that hack isn't thinking that video will get him clients, even in Memphis.

    Sig Sauer P224

I usually don't like Glocks due to their width, because I can't get my fingers comfortably around the grip.   The last few Sigs I've held feel just as wide, but oddly the grip seems to have a smaller circumference.   I'm starting to come around to accepting a little more width, but I can't tolerate an unnecessarily fat grip on a handgun. YMMV

    Sig Sauer P224

I've been wanting to get a Sig for a while, but have trouble deciding which. Every time I think I know which one I want they keep coming out with something new that I like as much or more. Here's the most recent. 12 rounds of 9mm in such a compact design is nice, too http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductDetails/p224-extreme.aspx

    Robert Duvall

They changed up the actors at some point, can't recall when, but they lost me. Also, I don't recall which one, but it had Duvall in it, but it was SO slow and boring that even having him on screen couldn't make up for the slow plot. I LOVE westerns, but for some reason, I'm not much of a John Wayne fan. I'm with you about Clint Eastwood, though. Even his spaghetti westerns were good.
  17. Someone at the department needs to explain to her how to apply Cooper's Color Codes to improve her situational awareness. She's clearly traipsing around in Condition White.

    Robert Duvall

He's the only reason I sat through Lonesome Dove with my wife.
  19. that is freakin' hilarious
  20. All the belts recommended are exceptional belts. However, based on what you said in your OP, I think you'd find most of them too stiff, because they are gun belts. I was of the impression that you aren't looking for a stiff gun belt.   Assuming the Barsony that you like is the thickness and price range you were looking for, I'd recommend checking out Hank's. They have some great Amish belts for reasonable prices.   The problem with thinner, less stiff belts is that they do wear out faster, though.
  21. thanks for the heads-up
  22. These shows are getting more and more like flea markets every year. Sometimes I find a good deal, but not like it used to be. Nonetheless, I enjoy the hell out of going and will likely continue. So, thank God the ones in Murfreesboro are still happening. I'd hate to have to stoop to going to the BG show in Nashville or that indoor yard sale in Lebanon they call a gun show.
  23. You're prolly right, most of the gals I've seen twerk looked like their idea of fine cuisine is springing for the Marie Calendar's instead of Banquet.
  24. If she can twerk and cooks biscuits and gravy, better treat her right.
