1. Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't trust the BBB. I searched for a scumbag collection agency, who was mistakenly calling me to make threats on a bull$hi+ debt. I found hundreds of sites where people were complaining about them lying and breaking FDC rules, but the BBB gave them an A for responding to each complaint with a canned statement. In each case the complaintant was dissatisfied with the result, but the BBB closed the complaint in favor of the company.   Gotta be some kind of scam going on there.
2.   I'm also curious...is this your blog that you're plugging?
3.
I did score some .32 auto today through. And I like shooting ammo that costs more than 30 cents per round. ;)
You really did find a deal on .32 auto compared to what I've been seeing. I haven't seen a box of 50 for under $23.99 in a long while. My lil P-32 is so lonely since the days of 30 cent ammo to feed it, LOL.
4.
34 seems a little young to have a daughter old enough to have a vehicle. Anyways, good for them. +1 for the good guys.
I noticed that too. Both parents are 34, the daughter is 17, and there was a 5 yr old son in the home as well. They apparently got knocked up at about 16 or 17 yrs of age, depending on when bdays fall. The fact that they are still together is welcome and worthy news all by itself. Add the fact that they are gun owners and took such decisive action and you have an even better story. Apparently, at least one article said the police are treating this as a murder investigation. I hope not, based on what news we have now, but who knows what else is going on. The suspect that survived caught one in the chest and one in each thigh.
5. here's the updated Fox News 2 report: http://fox2now.com/2014/06/10/one-person-dead-another-at-the-hospital/
6. Very cool if them to make it right
7. No kidding? You sure it was real Kydex? The thinnest kydex (0.06") that most hybrid holster bodies are made of need to reach 330-350 to be formed. The thicker stuff, like they make belt clips from needs to be closer to 400 degrees. I've been able to do less detailed shapes as low as 300 degrees, but I have to force it to bend at that temp.
8. HARD to beat a leather/kydex hybrid holster on comfort and concealability...IMPOSSIBLE to beat Alien Gear on quality for the money
9. I went over there Saturday around lunch time. The only .22LR was Federal match ammo at $25 per box of 50, but they had plenty of shorts, stil, LOL. They didn't even have any .22 mag left. The rest of their ammo was still cheaper than gun store prices, but not as cheap as Walmart. There was enough brass 9mm, .40, and .45 at reasonable prices to start a small war, but their brass .223/5.56 was about the same price as gun stores usually charge or what Midway would charge with shipping for a single box. Now that I think about it, just about everything there was about on par with prices at Dick's, Academy, Bass Pro, Cabela's, etc. I'm sure there's some exceptions, but that's what I noticed about the things I shopped for and knew the prices of. It's not realistic for me to expect them to be as cheap as Walmart or websites without stores.
10. I heard somebody once say the 2 happiest days in a boat-owner's life are they day they buy it and the day they sell it. Doesn't sound like that rings true, huh?
11. that's my kind of sense of humor right there! just awesome!
12. Pretty cool take on the pancake style holster. I like how it uses wings for the loops, since that adds a lot of stability and comfort. I can't believe they're using Hermann Oak leather to line the kydex with. That's a classy touch...maybe even a little overkill. I've used pigskin to line a few kydex holster and it worked pretty well, but it has a tendency to curl near the edges due to how thin it is. No way this leather will curl. Nice design!
13. I'd also recommend going with Primary Arms. Their branded Micro Dot is as good a knockoff of the Aimpoint Micro that you're gonna find. If that style isn't to your liking be patient, they had a decent Memorial Day sale and will have a decent Independence Day sale. Back in February, I got a Vortex Strikefire AND a cantilever mount AND a Primary Arms 3X magnifier AND a flip-to-the-side mount for just over $160. The Vortex is the first "good" red dot I ever owned. I'm extremely happy with it for the money. I wasted more than I paid for it over the years trying out crappy $50 red dots that fail in one way or another.
14. That sucks, sorry you missed it. I'll see if I can find a permanent link.
15.   I can respect that reasoning...who doesn't wanna mag dump a Saiga-12?
16.   I maxed out a shock collar around my American Bulldog's neck trying to get her to quit being aggressive at the dog on the other side of our privacy fence. She didn't even feel it when she was all worked up. Scary, cause I tried in myself first and it freakin hurt.
17. Many moons ago, I was delivering a pizza to woman in a really nice neighborhood. As I got within 5' of the front door, a 120+ lb Rottweiler came around the corner of the house toward me. He/she got a snoot full of pepper spray and ran back around the house. The lady who answered the door smelled the lingering odor and asked me if I could smell it too. All I cared about was getting a tip, so I played dumb.   Point is, she knew her big a$$ dog was loose and knew I was coming to her house, yet did nothing to ensure my security or that of her dog.   I hope those vet bills teach your neighbor a lesson, but she may just ignore the bills and stiff the vet. She sounds like the type that would have to be taken to court to force her to accept responsibility.
18.   Hey, it's his skin on the line. If he's good with it, that's all that matters, I guess. Your thread just asked "do you think this is safe", so I was giving my honest PERSONAL opinion.   for the record...the sub par shooting I was referring to was the guy who performed the mag dump into a cloud of dust above his target without seeming to even know he was missing.    I meant no offense
19.
I looked at a box of Hornaday 185gr Flextip +P's, I bet they are fast. The 220's "claimed" a muzzle velocity of 950fps, i'm assuming the 185's have at least 1100 fps muzzle velocity. I guess it's just stuck in my brain for years to load my .45's with 230 grain loads.
I'm suffering from the same delusion, LOL. I know in my head that 185 gr ammo is designed with my 3.3" barrel in mind. Still, I feel like sticking with the old school 230 gr bullets, which is mostly why I went with the +Ps.
20. These guys are winning the hearts and minds of the public alright...for the other side. When I watch videos like this, all I can think about is their effect on public opinion. These guys are pro-2A equivalent of the toothless, illiterate redneck in the trailer park that the news cameras look for after every tornado. Sadly, the majority of people are more than willing to believe they are the selected spokesmen of the gun-loving crowd.
21. Speaking of being on an ammo budget...I took my XD-S to the range one day along with several other guns. I loaded up my mags with reloads, but put them back in my range bag because I decided to shoot my P-01 first. When I switched to the little Springfield, I could't believe how tough it was to control and get back on target. I thought it was because I'd been shooting 9mms, which I load a little light anyway. Turns out I had grabbed the wrong mag and had just shot up a whole mag of Hornady 230gr +P rounds. Pretty expensive lesson.
22. I get the feeling this didn't turn out like expected.
23. For the record, I was also taught to never run with scissors, but I've ran with a loaded gun in an IDPA match, LOL.
24. I'm also curious what aspect of the holster he managed to get a patent for. Whatever it was, should be easy enough to work around, since he didn't invent the concept to begin with.
25. Back when I was using Verizon, I called them about dropped calls. I wasn't super mad and the calls weren't urgent, but they were very apologetic and knocked a sizable chunk off my bill without me even asking.
