1. I posted to a thread this morning that I found interesting. Someone quoted my comment and I clicked the link to see the quoted response. It took me to http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/75979-le-shooting-dog/. I can't even find the thread by searching now. Was the thread removed or what? If so, I'm just curious to know what happened.
2. I had a somewhat similar encounter with an ATI heatshield with ghost ring sights, but I wasn't smart enough to stop grinding and filing. I ruined the front sight trying to get it thin enough for the little scew they provided to reach the threads in the insert underneath the heatshield.
3.   I see what you mean, but before reading this story, if someone had told me a kid could die from drinking a 2 liter soda...I'd have thought they were crazy.   learning experience, here...just saying
4. I have to plead ignorance on this one. I'd never have guessed someone could ingest enough fluid to die from it.     I apologize if this sounds like morbid curiosity, but WTF!? What could a child do wrong that makes a parent choose forcing them to drink soda and water as punishment?   I'm sure we've all heard of a kid being forced to smoke a whole pack of cigarettes when they got caught stealing from a parent's pack. Well,l never thought that sounded so cruel as it does now that I've heard of this story.
5. When I started all I could afford was a Lee turret press. I got way more than my money's worth out of it and it still works when I need it to. If I were starting over, I'd buy another one. In all fairness, though, if I loaded as many rounds on it as I have on the Dillon that mostly took its place, I have no doubt it would have some broken parts by now. That's why my newest is also a Dillon. I intend to load as many rounds on it as I have on my other. I don't feel like that's a bad reflection on my original Lee press, however. It just wasn't meant for the kind of volume/speed I want now.
6. I never said deciding to move a company is easy or should be a decision to be taken lightly. However, the people with the most skin in the game (the owners) took the most risk and have the most to lose. So, they have to think of themselves and their company by putting the long-term success of their business ahead of all else, even their employees. That doesn't mean they don't care about their employees. Contrary to what some believe, smart businesses actually care a lot about their employees. They know that a happy workforce is a productive one and that you attract the best employees by being a place that the best talent wants to come work for. Short-term sacrifices, like moving to another state may turn out better for the employees that come along may be in their best interest in the long run too. You try recruiting, training, and holding onto an entire staff of great employees only to be forced to have to tell half of them they no longer have a job and then tell me deciding who gets to stay and go is any easier than moving a business somewhere else.
7.
It's one thing to say it; it's another thing to live it. Would you feel that way if it was YOUR job in this economy?
Beretta is is a business, not a social welfare provider. I've had to lay off employees before, due to slow business (not that much different). Bottom line was, I had to make a decision based on what was best for business first, not what's best for my staff. If the owner of my company had to move to a more business-friendly state, I'd have to suck it up and do what was best for my family. If that means following my job, so be it. If that means, keeping my roots and finding another job, so be it. The way I see it, I was looking for a job, when I found this one. If the shoe were on the other foot, Beretta wouldn't expect its employees to stay in MD, if they wanted to move to TN.
8.   Yep   It's not the employees' jobs anyway, it's Beretta's jobs. They can do with them what they please, if employees refuse to go with them.
9. It's pretty clear what side of this issue a company like Beretta would be on, but to act on that stance is pretty admirable. It's a shame they didn't go all-in, though. Their corporate headquarters are still in MD.   I wish all the gun and gun-related companies could afford to move out of states that aren't friendly, like Magpul did.   If Ruger, Mossberg, Marlin, and Colt had threatened to move out of CT before they recently passed their ridiculous gun laws, maybe their legislature would have thought twice.
10. I think they should NOT give it back to the idiot that sold it. They should sell it to a collector or museum and use the proceeds to do some REAL crime fighting.
11. Best part of the game for me...
12. I'm hoping for a 2nd half turnaround, just so it doesn't go into the books as a boring one-sided game.
13. Never would have guessed it'd be this unbalanced either. Dang Seattle is in his face on every passing play. Peyton's O-Line is getting owned.
14. http://www.scamvoid.com/check/wf-site.com Not sure this makes me feel any better, but thought I'd share it anyway.
15.
Oh I'm sure amnesty international would throw a fit and the UN would figure out a way to get you and imprison you for life. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I'm sure they would, but who needs them, we should withdraw from UN anyway.
16. I am guilty of the phases too. My current phase has me reaching for my XD-s 45 on work days, because it's easy to conceal and comfy all day. Outside of work and on weekends I can dress any way I want, so I carry my CZ P-01. Regardless of which primary I'm carrying, like graycrait, my lil Kel-Tec P-32 is always there too.
17. I can't believe someone hasn't sold tickets to a pirate hunting cruise yet. Can you imagine, a boat full of skinnies moving in on what looks like a normal cruise ship or cargo ship, but 100 lucky ticket buyers pop up over the deck rail with ARs, sniper rifles, and such. Call me what you will, but I'd buy a ticket...just saying. After about a dozen successful cruises, the would-be pirates would trade their AKs for fishing poles to make a safe and an honest living.
18. I see it as the classic immovable object (Seattle defense) vs irresistible force (Denver offense), which should make for an excellent game. Don't care who wins, but predict Seahawks 17 -16
19. mostly just the triangular shaped rods...they offer a LOT more surface area contact with each stroke than round rods
20. got my fingers crossed that these ridiculous restrictions are removed
21. We got a panini press at Christmas. One of the first things I tried in it was pimento cheese. I use that fake butter flavored spray release instead of butter, but it was still damn good.
22. I'm gonna have to have one of those! I may even retire my Spyderco with the ziptie through the thumbhole for one of these.
23. Dang, I think I have a case or two of this stuff. Gotta verify the lot # when I get home, but pretty darn sure. Planned on shooting some this weekend. I guess that's out the window now.
24. me neither   Aside from the cost, I'm 100% satisfied with Comcast.
25. Our society is way too politically correct to give these pieces of filth what they deserve.   Aside from a quick and/or painless death, there is nearly no limit to what I would be willing to allow these people to suffer, if it were up to me.
