  1. If being able to use the same ammo in your handgun and long gun is a factor, I think you're really limiting yourself. Given the two options, I'd go with the SKS. BUT, if you really want one cartridge for two guns, think about the .357 Mag or Max. Or .44 Mag. While the 9mm will usually gain some speed out of a longer barrel, the magnum rounds will gain enough to reach out a couple hundred yards or more.
  2. I've been planning to make a double-layered, round rack on a lazy Susan bearing. Stack the stuff you don't use as much in the back, put the ones you pull out more often on the spinning rack. If I ever get time to get it done, I'll post some pitchers.
  3. Fortunately, that clown didn't have an ounce of competence, else he could have killed at least one of the officers. Good job adding some chlorine to the gene pool. Edit: Just noticed you said it was a replica. No way for them to tell that quickly. I guess he just wanted to be shot.
  4. Even a 1/4" punch or rod works well. Insert it from the opposite side, push the detent and spring down and capture it with the punch. Push the punch back with the pivot pin.
  5. What is that? I want one. Edit: Never mind. Found it. http://www.gizmag.com/toyota-sienna-tacoma-mashup-ultimate-utility-vehicle/38184/
  6. I tend to be a bit slow at times. But I'm not gay. No, really, I'm not!
  7. Sorry, but that was long ago. In a galaxy far, far away.
  8. Just clicked the link to check. It opened to the article on my tablet.
  9. To add to all the above, they are exotic to this region. A very invasive exotic. Think kudzu, mimosa or Bermuda grass. Once they get started, they're hard to stop from spreading.
  10. Unless Uber gets hacked, nobody can get your card that way. It's all done through the app. No cash or cards exchange hands. Of course I have a specific account I use for purchases. Only keep a couple hundred in that account at most. If that number gets taken, it just gets changed. I've been fortunate that the bank caught the couple times my number has been taken and the thieves weren't able to buy anything. If I'm ever caught without a car and Uber is available, I'm using it. I trust it a lot more than a cab. I am a bit biased having been a driver for the past few months.
  11. Just picked up a couple boxes of CCI Quiet-22 at Alcoa Walmarts. They had quite a bit left. Velocity listed on the box says 710 fps. And they are quiet out of a 16" rifle barrel. Price is 3.27/box, limit of 3. Also saw someone wearing a Gore/Lieberman 2000 t-shirt. So that was a bonus.
  12. Taxi companies are upset all over the world. I would be too if I had failed to advance into the 21st century and someone beat me to it. And of course the unions have the ear of democrats, and probably some republicans too. So the gubmint has to do something.
  13. That doesn't make sense. Fares aren't negotiable, at least the way UberX works here. Unless he was getting riders via the app and then taking cash. Otherwise drivers don't even need to have cash. Everything is on the card through the app.
  14. For the military. But I want one too. http://www.funker530.com/hover-bikes-could-actually-be-coming-to-the-u-s-army-video/
  15. And she had a STEN. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3117016/The-shy-retiring-suburban-pensioner-left-unusual-mementos-died-fully-working-machine-gun-papers-past-Cold-War-spy.html
  16. This. It's the exact reason I use leather sheaths when I'm doing my barrē.
  17. Eff that. Where would I keep my spare man-panties and mini-skirt?
  18. The feds probably won't mess with this one. There's too much chance for jury nullification. The guy didn't actually do anything wrong, was just breaking a law by picking up a weapon. I suppose he could have been "in possession" while he was alone in the car with the pistol. But he may well have saved someone's life. Just trying to see it as a jury of regular folks might.
  19. Constitutional carry. Never woulda thunk it. http://onlygunsandmoney.blogspot.com/2015/06/puerto-rico-goes-constitutional-carry.html?m=1
  20. Deleterated.
  21. Most likely what Spots said. Sounds like she is full of fail. Can't drive, doing drugs, endangering her kids...
  22. That smaller grip is gonna hurt with real magnum loads. I bought a Redhawk that came with the original grips and aftermarket synthetic grips (Pachmayr, I think). I put the original grips on and fired a few rounds. Ouch. I put the aftermarket set back on immediately.
  23. Looks like they caught him in NC.
  24. I can't think of any reason to place your gun where it will be forgotten in a public restroom. Pants go down, pistol goes in the pant leg. If I were to lay it on top of anything, it's just a matter of time until I forget it. I may be more scatterbrained than average, but this happens way too often. I doubt that almost any gun found in a restroom would be a crime gun. Most likely a forgetful carrier. Nonetheless, my conscience wouldn't let me just take it. Given the opportunity I may give the person who left it a mini lecture about how it almost became a birthday present to myself.
