  1. The main reason I built my AR pistol was to have a short barrelled .300 Blackout. The Blk is more efficient in short barrels than is the 5.56. Eventually though, I will have a kit including a pistol lower, a .300 upper, a 5.56 upper and a .22 lr conversion. 300 will be the main upper, the .22 will stay in the 5.56 upper for small game. And if necessary, I can shoot 5.56 ammo as well.
  2. I know next to nothing about HVAC, but the first thing I thought when I saw that pic was "rodent". I've seen plenty of nests.
  3. I wonder if the chamber could be cut with a 7.62x25 reamer? This post http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?256118-30-Badger-30-Reece&p=2972130&viewfull=1#post2972130 states that Dave Manson suggested having a reamer made without the rim. Then a deeper chamber could be cut. Then one could use 357 mag or max cases. Without looking up the chamber dimensions for each round, I don't see the difference between a rimless ".30 Badger" and the 7.62x25.
  4. I like it. I assume velocities are similar to .32-20 as well? Might be a fun revolver round if the case set back can be dealt with.
  5. Which, as far as I know, was never ratified by US. So we aren't bound by it. It's a silly rule anyway. Making ammunition more humane? Psssshh.

  7. You can still buy the real stuff... somewhere. For the last several nights, some neighbors have been setting off some massive fireworks. And they sound factory-made. A big whoosh when it launches and a massive boom a few seconds later. Rattles the windows. It's pretty annoying really. I keep expecting it to wake up our 2-1/2 year old. But so far he's slept through it. And this in Knox county. Not even legal here.
  8. And let it get rained on? No way!
  9. Had I been walking with a little kid, I wouldn't expect ANYONE in a vehicle to see me. And I pay close attention in a parking lot. Even if you accidentally got close, he should have gotten out of the way. Yet another reason why I park at the back of the lot. Less traffic, easier to get in and out. Some people are just dicks.
  10. Sure looks like it.  I really do hope they make a version in .308 and non-proprietary mags.
  11. I wondered about that too.  Looked like panic shooting to me.     I don't think she should face any discipline for it.  Just as I don't think a private citizen should.  He did, after all, beg to be shot.
  12. I want one. Except in .308 or .264 Rem. And accepting PMags or M14 mags. http://bearingarms.com/ohio-ordnance-works-heavy-counter-assault-rifle-hcar/ Oh yeah, just the video...   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvEb4PzSfx0&app=desktop
  13. If being able to use the same ammo in your handgun and long gun is a factor, I think you're really limiting yourself. Given the two options, I'd go with the SKS. BUT, if you really want one cartridge for two guns, think about the .357 Mag or Max. Or .44 Mag. While the 9mm will usually gain some speed out of a longer barrel, the magnum rounds will gain enough to reach out a couple hundred yards or more.
  14. I've been planning to make a double-layered, round rack on a lazy Susan bearing. Stack the stuff you don't use as much in the back, put the ones you pull out more often on the spinning rack. If I ever get time to get it done, I'll post some pitchers.
  15. Fortunately, that clown didn't have an ounce of competence, else he could have killed at least one of the officers. Good job adding some chlorine to the gene pool. Edit: Just noticed you said it was a replica. No way for them to tell that quickly. I guess he just wanted to be shot.
  16. Even a 1/4" punch or rod works well. Insert it from the opposite side, push the detent and spring down and capture it with the punch. Push the punch back with the pivot pin.
  17. What is that? I want one. Edit: Never mind. Found it. http://www.gizmag.com/toyota-sienna-tacoma-mashup-ultimate-utility-vehicle/38184/
  18. I tend to be a bit slow at times. But I'm not gay. No, really, I'm not!
  19. Sorry, but that was long ago. In a galaxy far, far away.
  20. Just clicked the link to check. It opened to the article on my tablet.
  21. To add to all the above, they are exotic to this region. A very invasive exotic. Think kudzu, mimosa or Bermuda grass. Once they get started, they're hard to stop from spreading.
  22. Unless Uber gets hacked, nobody can get your card that way. It's all done through the app. No cash or cards exchange hands. Of course I have a specific account I use for purchases. Only keep a couple hundred in that account at most. If that number gets taken, it just gets changed. I've been fortunate that the bank caught the couple times my number has been taken and the thieves weren't able to buy anything. If I'm ever caught without a car and Uber is available, I'm using it. I trust it a lot more than a cab. I am a bit biased having been a driver for the past few months.
  23. Just picked up a couple boxes of CCI Quiet-22 at Alcoa Walmarts. They had quite a bit left. Velocity listed on the box says 710 fps. And they are quiet out of a 16" rifle barrel. Price is 3.27/box, limit of 3. Also saw someone wearing a Gore/Lieberman 2000 t-shirt. So that was a bonus.
  24. Taxi companies are upset all over the world. I would be too if I had failed to advance into the 21st century and someone beat me to it. And of course the unions have the ear of democrats, and probably some republicans too. So the gubmint has to do something.
