  1. Don't think so. If I recall correctly, they recalled Gray Davis. Then the Governator was elected (I liked him until he turned out to be a flaming RINO). And now it's Moonbeam Jerry Brown.
  2. She is? They recalled a governor a few short years ago. Not that it would happen. Just curious.
  3. You probably couldn't find a synthetic stick for it anyway. Most brands say they won't fit anything pre-181 series. A scope wouldn't be an easy feat either.
  4. Awesome! Just ordered mine. Thanks for the heads up!
  5. It does. Thanks. I'll be by that way today. I'll stop in and check.
  6. Didn't make it this time. I kinda wanted to try to find a couple glock mags, but without knowing if I could find a good deal, I don't want to spend 9 bucks to find out.
  7. I'll be there! Wearing my turbine too! Suck, Squeeze, Bang, Blow, baby! Edit: Sorry. ChuckTshoes already used the first joke that popped in my head.
  8. I don't know. Rush Limbaugh was a judge for the Miss America pageant a couple years ago. Probably just as a token conservative, though.
  9. Got pulled over for the same thing a few months ago. Except I had renewed the tags and forgot to put the sticker on. As she approached the window, I had my license and the sticker in my hand. She merely said "go put it on". I got out and stuck the sticker in my plate while she sat in her car and watched. No other questions, no frisk, no problem.
  10. Apparently so.  But we probably won't see any cheap Russki Glocks for a while.   http://www.thebangswitch.com/russian-made-glock-pistols/
  11. I don't think it is necessary to remove bluing.  It is a good idea to roughen the surface well.  As a matter of fact, anodized aluminum will take Duracoat very well.  And phosphated steel (Parkerized) is an excellent base for Duracoat because it's porous.   If you plan to do internals, you may want to do something besides Duracoat as it will change the dimensions of coated pieces.     I've done several guns with Duracoat.  Outsides only.  I think next time I am going to try Cerakote.  I've read that it's more involved, but better overall.
  12. As others have said, costco is managed by leftists and supports leftists.  I can't help but remember the response letter I read several years ago in response to a customer's letter.  "We do not think the shopping experience is enhanced by carrying weapons" (paraphrasing, of course).  Those things are enough to make me anti-costco.  I will still occasionally shop at a business who halfheartedly makes an attempt to placate the sheep by posting a "no weapons" sign (like the Bearden Earthfare), but costco seems to go all out to make sure no one carries there.     Sams is good enough for me.
  13. Depends on the individual animal.  But most of them will stay away after a lesson like that.  Some agencies use paintball guns on habituated wildlife as "negative reinforcement".  That's not the term they use, but I can't remember it right now.     It works for most animals.  But there will occasionally be one that will keep coming back regardless.  When I was trapping bears one summer we caught one three times.  I suspect he may have been addicted the the drug we used to tranquilize them.   Will
  14. Don't know about Cerakote, but Duracoat works fine on either. Plus aluminum and plastic. No difference in prep. It just has to be very, very clean.
  15. Just like the drugs crossing our southern border every day, I think the problem ultimately lies with the end buyers. If people would stop buying, just for a while, this crap would cease. When times are good, stock up slowly. Then there is no need to buy during a panic. I haven't bought a factory round in a pretty good while. I don't usually anyway, becaus I prefer to handload. I needed some ammo for a class coming up in October and I was able to scrounge enough brass from random nooks and crannies to load up enough for the class Unlike illicit drugs, ammunition is not ACTUALLY addictive. As much as it may seem so. EDIT: I do agree with Dolomite's post above. I am less likely to shoot as much when supplies are hard to get, even if I have some. I wasn't talking about those of us who already aren't buying. Somebody is though. They could stop this nonsense by not buying anything for a month or less. I have also considered buying one of the better airsoft guns. A pistol and/or a rifle. Have a friend who practices with one inside his home and his skill level is well-maintained.
  16. Yeah, I figure it will be scarce. As most things are right now. The upside to these panics is that they teach patience. I DID find some XBR 8208 (good Grendel powder, btw) a couple years ago before the latest furor. So not all hope is lost if the craziness subsides soon.
  17. I was looking for a case I remember hearing about a few years ago. Haven't found it yet, but I ran across this. http://www.constitution.org/2ll/bardwell/cases1.html The case I was looking for involved someone in, I think, Arizona who had made a machine gun from scratch. He was prosecuted, but the charge was either thrown out or acquitted because the gun had not been involved in interstate commerce. He was convicted of another charge if I recall correctly. I have no interest on getting involved in NFA weapons, but another thread about Missouri and the TN Firearm Freedom Act made me think about that case. I know it was in a different district, but it may possibly be a precedent for suppressors and firearms made in TN being left alone by the feds. Anyway, thought I'd share the link. It was interesting to skim through.
  18. Is anyone familiar with it? I have some .357 Mag cases that need to be filled with some hunting loads. The velocity listed is pretty impressive if it isn't a typo. http://www.alliantpowder.com/reloaders/RecipePrint.aspx?gtypeid=1&weight=170&shellid=28&bulletid=39&bdid=971 Assuming I can find some...
  19. It's almost EXACTLY like that, isn't it. That has been my suspicion for a while now.
  20. Have no idea if they have what you need right now, but here is a list of places I've ordered from over the years. Midway Graf and Sons http://www.grafs.com/ Powder Valley http://powdervalleyinc.com/ Brassman Brass http://store.brassmanbrass.com/ Widener's http://www.wideners.com/ And of course there is David who is a vendor on this forum. You don't want to be ordering powder or primers unless you're going to order a whole lot at a time. So buy from David at the gun shows. I am in Knoxville too and will be happy to assist you if you need it. I started handloading on a Rockchucker when I was 14 years old. I just turned 40. Don't feel it, but the numbers don't lie, I guess. :) Will
  21. The last couple times I've been in there and checked, they've had small amounts of handgun ammo. Either the buying is slowing down, or they are getting regular shipments.
  22. That leftist clown doesn't have a clue about what he's talking.
  23. So if you have a few pellets of 7-1/2 shot stuck in a corner of your pocket somewhere, you're breaking the law if you cross the DC city limit line. Ooookaaay...
  24. This one is near my hometown. They do mostly mail-order, but I think you can drop by too. May be a good idea to call first to make sure dropping by is ok. I've been there, but it's been a few years. https://www.readymaderesources.com/cart/storable-food-units/mylar-bags-buckets-oxygen-absorbers-sealers/cat_402.html If you're storing food, have you thought about using dry ice? I've used O2 absorbers, but I've been wanting to try the dry ice method.
  25. I saw that. It's what made me think of the Strida. I like that QuietKat a lot. Wonder how long it will run on a charge. Too bad it looks like there isn't a manual pedal.
