  1. How is the case-forming going?  I dug out my .243 brass.  I have 20+ empty cases that I'll give you.  Also have some factory loaded ammo that you can have cheap.   Let me know.
  2.   Kidding, of course.     Like I said before, one has to beware the prices.  Some are quite good and some can be cheaper at Kroger.  Depends on the product.  Bulk prices aren't a deal if you won't use it before it goes bad.
  3. Eesh. That's tight. Mine came with the Odin Works barrel I got from AIM. It looks about as low profile as you can get. If I have to, I may be able to shave a bit off the top, but not too much.
  4. So if you're a member of the Y in one city, you can use the Y everywhere?
  5. Are you shaking the can of One Shot before spraying the cases? I shake it for at least a minute. The can, that is. Seriously, that is a pretty common mistake with this product.
  6. Thanks for the info. I'm probably going to go with this one since it doesn't have a rail on top (but one can be added). I'm putting together an upper for a friend. He's going to scope it and use it for hunting anyway. Next one that I build for me will have one of the UTG Pro handguards that Dolomite spoke of above. They seem like a great deal.
  7. There is a link to a video of that on YouTube in the arfcom thread. It is a complete sham.
  8. Never had a problem using it for bottleneck cases.  The only time that it isn't enough is when reforming cases and setting the shoulder back.  I had a few crushed cases until I really lubed the stuffin' out of them with a thicker lube.
  9. I found my sights.  I don't know what brand they are, but they are fiber optic.     So if you'd still like to try that experiment, just let me know, Dolomite.
  10. I haven't, but now that you mention it....   I've used it for resizing.  It dries almost "unstickily", and I haven't had any stuck cases.  It probably wouldn't be my first choice as a gun lube, but if it was all I had, I'd use it.
  11.   I'm not an engineerer, let alone an aerospace engineerer, but that makes sense.  The structure has to be able to survive the forces of gravity upon landing as well as the forces of lift while flying.
  12.   Some do.  Most just glance at it.  Of course, I usually only have a few items.   Sam's can be a good deal.  Or it may not be.  You have to be a savvy shopper.
  13.   Seriously?  You skinny slacker.   :yum:
  14. There used to be one close to there, but apparently not anymore.  Looks like the closest is Manchester, which looks like quite a drive for you.   http://appleseedinfo.org/search-states-display.php?qstate=TN&statename=Tennessee   Sorry, I used to be a bit involved in Appleseed, but I've been out of the loop for a while.   Edit:  Another thing I'd like to add...  The year before the "Appleseed Project" was officially underway, a friend and I drove the home range in Ramseur, NC.  That range is tremendous.  A short, 25 meter range and a full 600 (?) yard range with electronic pop-up steel targets.  I remember that trip fondly.  If anyone has a chance to go there, I highly recommend it.
  15. Funny, when I read the title, "Stoeger Cougar" popped in my head.  Very accurate, good ergonomics for me, reliable, and affordable.  If it wasn't so wide (including the safety), I'd carry it as my EDC.
  16.   Possibly.  But there's always a trade-off.   Edit:  I haven't ordered a ton from them, but my orders were always shipped in a reasonable time frame.
  17.   Yup.  I've spun apart light varmint bullets out of a 1:9 twist.
  18. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/catalog/category/view/s/psa-glock-barrels/id/4396/   I'm intrigued.  I hope they eventually add other calibers and conversion barrels.  And someday run one of their awesome sales on them.
  19. That's good to know. Thanks.
  20. I've only read about this concept, I've never used it.     Basically, I need some new equipment but have little funds, so I thought I could raise the funds to buy it through one of the crowdfunding sites.  In return, I would provide a service to the donors using the equipment.  I might even try to start a small side-business, but not sure about that.   I've found four sites so far.  Kickstarter, GoFundMe, FundAnything, and RocketHub.  It seems like Kickstarter is the largest, but also seems to focus on "creative" projects.  There is no category for business start-ups   Can the donors be kept local?  I couldn't very well pay back someone if they're hundreds of miles away.   And lastly, if my goal isn't reached, is there a way to return the funds to the donors?  I see with at least one of the sites that you can only collect when the goal is reached, so the donor would get his money back, correct?     Thanks for any help,   Will
  21. I guess I'll be the guinea pig.
  22. If he joins ISIS, he probably won't be allowed back into the country.  Just an FYI.         Only kidding, that's really cool.  I'd be proud.
  23.   Yeesh.  That's the second time today that I agree with you.
  24.   I used to be a wildland firefighter.  I always said, the most dangerous thing we do is driving to and from the fire.
