Legal for Me to Carry on the Property of a Felon?
Clod Stomper replied to luvmyberetta's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
You're in possession, not him. Keep it on your person and don't let the dirtbag touch your gun. I don't see how that can be illegal. Good question, though. Heck, there is no way I WOULDN'T carry around a multiple felon. -
Oopsie ... Smokeless Instead of Black Powder
Clod Stomper replied to Oh Shoot's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
Quite honestly, I don't see how that didn't happen. -
She's a traitor for sure. But has she actually had a change of heart? It's been 40 years. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/85182-jane-fonda-praises-american-sniper/ I admit, I tend to be a bit naive when it comes to people. I do think people can change their minds. Just not very forgiving, however.

Vaginatarian! HA! I think that describes me. Ok people. Back on topic!!

"You see that mountain over there? Yeah, one of the days I'm gonna climb that mountain..." This one is from several years ago in Wyoming. My last trip out west to "fight" fire. We stopped to take some pics of the Tetons. And of course the obligatory pic of my little boy.

Front sight options for dovetailed barrel
Clod Stomper replied to JWKilgore's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
You might consider covering the existing dovetail with a ramp like the newer 336s. Other than that, the easiest option is going to be a taller front sight. If you go with the ramp, you could avoid drilling and tapping the barrel by using a dovetail slot blank to fill the existing dovetail slot and drill the blank instead. With no permanent modifications. -
NRA $500 Lifetime Membership Again
Clod Stomper replied to Oh Shoot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
It was 500 when I bought mine back in the early '90s. Up to 750 normally now, isn't it? -
For 200, I'd use Duracote or Cerakote. Heck, I'd probably use chalkboard paint as Dolomite_Supafly has mentioned. I certainly wouldn't put a 100-150 dollar finish on a $200 pistol. Heckuva deal, btw. Edit: As far as blue, it's basically cosmetic, not protective. Phosphate is a bit better in that it will hold oil. Even better, it will hold Dura- or Cerakote very well.

Aim Surplus Nagant Revolver
Clod Stomper replied to TN_Hiker's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
I'm glad I grabbed a couple when they were $75 apiece. :) -
What is your roles were reversed? What would you want him to do to you? Just kidding. I'd have them chopped off. Not mine, the dog's.

Some fuel for the Costa haters... Japanese Airsoft show
Clod Stomper replied to TGO David's topic in Training Discussions
I know nothing about Chris Costa other than what I've read here and at those links. I don't think I'd heard his name before a few weeks ago. I can forgive the stage dance and I must admit I envy witnessing the hot Japanese chicks. What I can't forgive is that ridonkulous grip he uses on his rifle. I see no advantage and several disadvantages to it. -
AR buffer tube options for Sig SBX brace on a non-AR device... school me?
Clod Stomper replied to a topic in Handguns
Cool, thanks. Whew that's pricey. Sorry for the hijack. -
I can't speak from personal experience, but I'd say that if you're using soft or hollow point bullets, either should be plenty effective.

AR buffer tube options for Sig SBX brace on a non-AR device... school me?
Clod Stomper replied to a topic in Handguns
Thread hijack/dumb question: Does that hinge adapter allow a standard tube to hinge on an AR and still function when extended? I haven't seen one of those in person. -
If his mag changes were as fast as his mouth, it would have failed sooner.

It's a Y-chromosome deficiency. Causes periodic psychotic episodes.

Revolvers can get tied up. And when they do, it's usually a lot more work to them going again than a semi-auto. My wife's Smith 686 will sometimes stop working when it gets too warm after a few cylinders. Not sure why, haven't tracked down the problem. It doesn't get carried for defense of course. My point is, there really isn't a difference in reliability between a modern self-loader and a revolver. But when a semi jams, it's usually an easy fix. When a revolver does, you better have a backup.

Anyone have problems with Remington Large rifle primers?
Clod Stomper replied to Luke E.'s topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I should have said I've seen ONE Wolf steel case without a flash hole. At an Appleseed in N GA a few years ago I went through 100 rounds of Wolf .308 and had two rounds not fire. One was a missing flash hole and I can't remember the reason for the other. Never had to deal with Remington customer service, but hopefully they'll make it right. -
Anyone have problems with Remington Large rifle primers?
Clod Stomper replied to Luke E.'s topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Wow. Never had that happen. But I rarely use Rem primers. Could be a bad batch. Are you absolutely sure it isn't a light strike? I've set the shoulder back too far on brass before and the firing pin wouldn't even touch the primer. Waaay too much headspace. How about the brass? I've seen Wolf cases with no flash hole. If none of the above, it's probably a bad batch of primers. Hopefully they'll replace them for you. -
There needs to be a new category for me. Call it "Jason Bourne" or maybe "Mitch Rapp". :) Actually, Subconsciously Competent may be appropriate. The only practice I get lately is in my dreams.
