  1. Have you checked Sportsman's Warehouse in Chatt? They have a better selection than anywhere in Knoxville.
  2. I'm glad for that perception, however erroneous it may be. Helps keep the urban riffraff and northern interlopers away. Edited to remove unnecessary snark.
  3. Wonder how those will feed with that wide tip? I loaded some lightweight soft tip round nose bullets in .300 BLK and they wouldn't feed at all.
  4. Nor do I. Perhaps an explanation beyond a picture?
  5. Haven't stopped in yet, but I want to. Largest hiking/camping store in Knoxville so far. I don't count bass pro. They chose to locate in Sevier county and I can't stand that place. I'll have to stop in and try to catch some closeouts. I only buy clothing at closeout prices or really good sales.
  6. If you can't clean it right away after shooting corrosive, a good dousing with Whiskey Delta-40 will keep the rust away until you can get to it. Don't fear the -40. Never had a problem with corrosive ammo when I use it. Then I clean with hot soapy water.
  7. These would not require tools. Complete upper and lower. Just plug and play. And add a rear sight. However, if you do happen to want to piece it together, I have the tools. I'm pretty particular about loaning tools, but I might make an exception. :) Or better yet, we could get together and assemble it. I've done several and haven't blown myself or anyone else up, yet.
  8. I'd like an A1 upper. Too bad the only ones I can find are made of gold. At least that's how they're priced. Even the used ones.
  9. I've never had a optic on my own AR.  I put one on my wife's, but that's her preference.  Having only used a red dot a very limited amount, I can't comment on speed comparison, but accuracy-wise, they're as good as, or maybe better than, a red dot.  Some people (not me) can shoot irons out to 1000 yards as well as a scope.
  10. Like I said...   http://bearingarms.com/swatter-responsible-raid-left-police-chief-shot-arrested-oklahoma/?utm_source=gpfbp&utm_medium=fbpage&utm_campaign=gpupdate
  11.   Here's a $15 one from PSA.   http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ar-15-05/lower-parts/ar15-hammer.html
  12. Not the disconnector, possibly the hammer.  Or it COULD be the hammer and/or trigger pin holes drilled slightly off.  That would be a worst case scenario.
  13. I haven't used this ammo, but it shouldn't be difficult to seal. Just a few dabs of lacquer.
  14. I had to look that one up. HA!
  15. Nice job.  Looks like the pic was taken in the hospital.     As others have asked, how on earth does that happen?   I'll take a "stab" at it.  He had a failure to eject.  Reached in the breech to dislodge it, and the bolt carrier flew forward.  Que?   Edit:.  I take it back.  Don't think it could have driven it through the finger that way.
  16.   That's why I charge 150/hr.   Edit:  Oh, you're talking about metalwork.  Never mind.
  17. D'oh! Guess I should drop in the Hunting forum more often.
  18. Wasn't sure where to put this.  This subforum seems fitting, though.  I want this guy on my team when the Zeds attack.   If this is real, I wouldn't go against him if I had a firearm.   http://truthseekerdaily.com/2015/01/everything-you-know-about-archery-is-a-lie-and-this-dude-can-prove-it/
  19. A bit more info.   http://www.counton2.com/story/27909348/132-year-old-rifle-mystery-still-lingers-but-some-questions-are-being-answered
  20. How'd you manage that? I consider every trip to the walmarts an adventure.
  21. I second everything Leroy said.
  22. Writing was eliminated a couple years ago, I think. And reading may as well be cut out. It doesn't seem to be working very well.
  23.   I think High Standard tried that somewhere around the '70s.   Lemme do a search.   Edit:  Here's a link to a pic.   https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=high+standard+revolver&qpvt=high+standard+revolver&qpvt=high+standard+revolver&FORM=IGRE#view=detail&id=9D0E00B2C775AEBD5B7B82DEDDB1F5D5A9A54664&selectedIndex=1   I bet the trigger pull is atrocious.
  24. True. But apparently the guy has MULTIPLE felonies. I realize that I'm assuming, but it doesn't sound like he filed his 1040 improperly. Edit: after rereading the OP, he gave no indication that they were violent crimes. So mea culpa. Maybe he is just a tax violator.
