  1. The SP2022 is polymer framed and it feels light in the hand so I checked to see its weight and was surprised to see it is 30.2 oz compared to the 32 oz metal frames.
  2. I don't think so, I believe just polymer grips panels from what I gathered from the specs page. It weighs the same (32 oz) as the P229.
  3. Here's a link to the P229 E2 on sig's site. Products & Services
  4. I was reading in a new gun mag I bought about the P229 E2 and it looks nice. The E2 has a different grip shape and size and also has their short reset trigger. I haven't seen one in store, but it looks like the msrp on sigs site shows it to be a little more costly than the standard P229. The only Sig I have shot is the one I own which is a SP2022 in 9mm, and it has become my favorite gun to shoot. Also, it's just a little over half the price of most of the other sigs.
  5. yeah at first i thought it was cool that it came with it, then i realized i would never have a use for it. i think it has more of a quality look now without it.
  6. got my supertuck in the mail yesterday. so far its a sweet holster, but the horse hide still needs a little more breaking in. may trim a little off the bottom of it as well. after carrying my gun in it some i noticed the pinky extension and lanyard loop of the grip were catching on my shirt and printing some so I decided to do a little hacksawing, dremeling and sanding. The first pic shows the lanyard loop and full pinky extension. After cleaning it up some
  7. My wife and I just went to tri cities gun depot yesterday and picked up a Bersa Thunder 380 Concealed Carry model which has the smaller hammer, 8 round mag, and low profile sights. We haven't took it to shoot yet but it is a neat little gun. She handled the Ruger LCP, the Thunder CC, and a normal Thunder and she liked the CC the best. The LCP just didn't have enough grip for her. I read up some on the Bersas before we went and I'm glad that's what we came home with. It is priced in the same range as the LCP, and out the door price was just over $300. May be worth letting your wife check them out. Here's some comparison pics with my S&W and my xd sub compact. It is generally the same size as both, but the CC is thinner.
  8. thanks guys. i've got a cross breed supertuck on order for the sig, and a ryan grizzle IWB holster for the J frame coming for my b-day from the wife
  9. thanks i really like it, it has become my favorite gun to shoot. it also sleeps beside me on the night stand. i ordered a super tuck and hope to carry it more when it arrives
  10. check out the Kahr PM45 also. I have been reading about the Kahrs, and considering the PM9 or the cheaper, slightly larger CW9 as a carry option for myself. Michael's PM45 Range Report... - KahrTalk Forums
  11. right now that's my only means of carrying the 2022 iwb, and it actually takes up less waistband room than the xd with the leather holster pictured. i usually carry the revolver though, it's by far the most comfortable.

    NRA Rant

i just joined and did the 2 year membership so i could get a knife instead of whatever came with the 1 year and i get my membership card in the mail and a little postcard thing (that didn't have paid postage so I had to use a stamp) that i had to send back to them stating that i did want my gift instead of allowing them to use those funds to ..... i mean, come on, just send me my knife and be done with it.
  13. Just got the sig a few weeks ago and put about 350 rounds through it. My stainless guide rod arrived today so I polished it as well as the barrel and decided to take a few pics. Hope you enjoy.
  14. i started as a mail carrier about 2 months ago and during training i told them i hated getting things shipped usps because the tracking is never accurate, that i would receive a package while online it still said something like "billing info received". the lady played dumb and said she had no idea why it was like that or why it wouldn't be up to date. and it isn't like it was that one package, every package seems to be like that. now that i carry mail i have figured out a few things. our scanners don't have any kind of wireless/satellite capability like UPS, so when we scan things they don't go into the system until we get back at the end of the day and put our scanner back on the dock. where UPS scanners i guess work off a satellite and theirs are continually uploaded. also, when we pick up packages from someones house we don't scan them as being picked up (not sure why) and we don't scan them when we drop them off at the office. one other thing you may find interesting that i didn't know until i got a job with usps is that the postal service receives no funds from the government, it operates solely on the revenues it receives from postage and shipping.
  15. i see what you are saying, i didn't pay attention to the headline. well i guess its more relevant to me, who parks in a non public lot, than customers of the PO
  16. i'm actually a mail carrier and a hcp holder so i have done a lot of reading and researching on this topic. There has been a court case, United States v. Dorosan where a mail carrier was charged for having a weapon locked inside his vehicle while in the parking lot of the post office. they found out about it because he had left a bag of his in the PO and someone opened it to see whos it was and they found a couple empty shell cases. He gave them permission to search his car and they found his weapon. He was charged and basically if he wants to keep a gun in his vehicle he has to park elsewhere. Here's a link, and from a link on that page you can see some stuff from the case. US Postal Service enforces gun ban in public parking lots
  17. used to be IWB, until I got a 442 with a pocket holster
  18. hey guys just letting everyone know i didn't disappear, just been busy after starting work as a letter carrier a few weeks ago. i haven't been reloading any, i'm waiting on some bullets to get here from cabelas. i started to order some powder from them until i realized there was a $20 haz mat fee so i decided to wait and try to find some elsewhere.
  19. thanks john. i did notice that on the few cases i did run through the dies it had kind of a sticky feel, i didn't think much of it though but now i will clean them out good using the tips you suggested. I guess there are a lot of options and twice as many opinions, but i need to place an order for bullets, powder, and probably some casings to do some 38 special rounds. I'm not looking for the most accurate, or high power loads, but some cheap paper punching rounds. What have you guys found that you like, and where would you order? I was looking on midway but a lot of items are out of stock. Thanks guys.
  20. greg thanks for the link to the pdf. i still have the original instruction sheet in the box which is what that pdf is of, but still a nice resource to have. i took the scale up to my neighbor's and we tried the pan from his scale and it was too heavy on mine, and my pan was too light on his. so what we did was take the screw out of the bottom pan and we added 2 pellets of birdshot from a shot shell and wa-la, scale zeroes nicely now using my pan. pig832, the dies i have do not have a sleeve in them, they say "pacific durachrome". they were in a rcbs tray but i don't see rcbs stamped on them. i'm not sure what square washers you are talking about. i don't see any washers around the turret. also, could you send me a pic of your setup or what you mean about your powder check in the 4th hole.
  21. no problem, i think it may solve a lot of peoples problems. i haven't ordered them yet because shipping is 12.99, so i'm waiting until i have a few more things to order, but i plan on ordering 2 of them when i do.
  22. good information, thanks to both of you. will work some more on it tomorrow evening and hopefully get the scale straightened out. when first setting it up out of the box as it was previously adjusted, the pan side wasn't heavy enough to level it. and of course i wasn't planning on using the primer tray, i was just showing that as a point of what it took to make the beam level
  23. okay i messed around with things a little this evening. i got the scale out and tried to zero it using the instructions that were in the box with it. when i got it out of the box, the left leg was lowered about an inch, but it was no where near zero. i tightened the leg all the way up, still no zero, propped the right side up on the primers and it got a little closer to zero. are there other adjustments i can make or what am i missing here? since i couldn't get my scale zeroed, i decided to skip the whole powder part and work on seating some bullets. i will gladly accept any criticism, but review my thought process here. First off, the 6th bullet is a factory Federal American Eagle and the 5th bullet is one my dad made back in the day. I did the other 4 starting from left to right. #1 - the bullet isn't seated far enough #2 - bullet seated too far #3 - close on seating, but crimped too low #4 - good seating, good crimp? Give me some feedback on my diagnosing.
  24. John, I like your signature. Much appreciated.
