  1. I used to have a xd sub compact that I thought I would never get rid of, then I got the sig pro. It is my primary carry gun in a supertuck. I like the comfort of carrying a gun in double action. I have about 2,000 rounds through the sig, and I have had one stovepipe and it was in the first mag I shot through the gun. This gun is capable of accuracy beyond most of our abilities (at least mine anyway). If I have a drawback with the gun it is the grip, but I am used to it and it feels natural to me now. As far as taking it down, it is simple to do. I bought a steve bedair (i think it was) stainless guide rod and polished it and the barrel + chamber. I took a dremel and trimmed down some of the finger groove on the mag so it would print a little less yet still enough of a shelf for my finger. Also cut off the lanyard loop that was on the back of the grip. I have posted these pics up on the forum a couple times in the past, hopefully people aren't getting tired of seeing them. If so, don't look
  2. I have one and it is the most comfortable iwb I have. What's going to ride in yours?
  3. here's my half of the basement
  4. Yes, I was in there about 2 weeks ago. They do transfers for $30 and they are also on Bud's pre-approved list so you don't even have to contact them in order to transfer there. I also had him do a price check on a Kahr K40 for me and his prices were in line with TCGD.
  5. Another gun shop in Bristol I like to stop by is Sam's Gun and Pawn shop. They are probably 2 miles from Volunteer Gun shop (closer to JC) and have a pretty wide selection of guns in stock. I haven't purchased a gun from them, but have had 2 transferred to them from Bud's.
  6. that says doesn't include camera or tripod. so one would still have to have a pretty darn good camera and lenses, but i guess there are plenty of people around who do
  7. that looks great. did you consider leaving the slide black? I think that would look good with the OD frame.
  8. The AR is a bug I haven't been bit by yet, but it looks like you did it right to start with. Have fun with that thing!
  9. my neighbor who has his own range put some tires in the middle of his dirt pile to help slow down rifle bullets and such.
  10. OP's age 24, DaddyO 56, OP still has 32 years of putting up with this woman before he even gets to DaddyO's age.
  11. people think of everything..pretty funny though
  12. pics or it didn't happen
  13. i like it too. what kind did you previously have, the plastic one that mounts on the gun?
  14. Clarification above, I have not shot wild animals and insects with the gun, I mean I've shot 3 different kinds of shot (bird, buck, and slugs).
  15. I've got the Mav. 88 and have 28" and 18.5" barrels for it. I've shot bird, buck, and slugs through it with a total of around 250 rounds and haven't had any issues with mine. Like mentioned, the forearm feels loose in hand, but it hasn't affected anything with me. If you think you may want both size barrels, buy the gun from the store with the 28" barrel because when you go to buy the barrel alone the 28" costs twice as much as the 18.5", I think 59.99 vs. 119.99 from cabelas.
  16. good idea, done!
  17. I have done a lot of reading over there. I can't seem to join up because their activation e-mail never reaches me therefore I can't use the search function on that forum, but I have went through the first 20 some pages of "Sig pistols" and read all the threads with p239 in the title.
  18. One thing you should pay attention to either next time you go shoot or when you do some dry-firing is your finger placement on the trigger. You want just the pad of your finger on the trigger instead of the joint of your finger which may cause you to pull it left.
  19. Though I would like to try the DAK it looks like your on the other side of the state, appreciate the offer though.
  20. That seems like the general concensus over on sigforum.com although I can't join over there for some reason I never get the activation e-mail. I'm surprised at how many people on TGO have or have had a p239, a search only brought up around 10 threads with p239 in the title. Glad to hear the positive feedback on it though.
  21. Thanks for the reply, I will give that a try later. I hadn't went through any doors I thought it was just a one room stage.
  22. Like I said in the original post I have shot one in da/sa and liked shooting it in da better than sa, which is why I think I would like the DAK. I have the sig pro in 9mm and it has a 4" barrel and 15 rd capacity so as far as sigs go, if I purchase another it will likely be the 239 instead of 229 (though I do like them). The sig pro carries well and I like it, but just looking for something a little simpler. The 239 doesn't have a rail, dak doesn't have a decocker, its a little slimmer and I like the slide melt if I can find one in dak. As far as round capacity, I carry my 38 around with 5 rounds and that doesn't bother me, so 8 rounds of .40 wouldn't either. Thanks for all the feedback everyone, I think it is just a matter of time (more like money).
  23. I have never owned a .40 and didn't think I would after shooting a glock in .40, but after shooting an xd and this sig in .40 I think I may give it a try. It must have just been the glock
  24. Ha yeah, worked out pretty well. Still yet I wouldn't trade getting a game for bruising my ribs, that's the most pain I've ever felt. Every motion hurt, yawn, cough, and especially sneezing.
  25. I guess the "General Off-Topic" forum is a good place for this thread
