  1. Ok Robert, Dan, Denny and I will get you unstuck and make sure you can shoot the stages. Hope to see you there, it's been a long time.
  2. Rain, rain! Are you afraid you're going to melt? We will have several permanent , semi-permanent and temporary awnings set-up should melting occur. My weatherman says isolated thunderstorms with only a 30% chance of rain. A high temp of only 81 degrees F. Nice and cool!   Mark, You might want to bring those dry socks!
  3. I don't think there will be lunch this year. We got started planning late this year. You might want to bring a sack lunch or stop at Subway.
  4. Rick, I posted a seperate post specifically for the rifle match. Here is what I posted:   The Green River Gun Club (GRGC) will be holding a Tactical Rifle Match on Saturday June 29'th in Bowling Green KY.   We will be using IDPA "like" rules and IDPA scoring: Use of  cover.  20 round max in the mags. Must reload from the belt (no cinched mags).   7 or 8 stages ( one in the shoot house).  Minimum round count is approximatley 175. There will be movement on several stages.  Two divisions, iron sights or optic sights.   Stages have not yet been finalized.   Set-up at 8:00 am, shooters meeting about 9:00 am, start about 9:30 am.   For more info go to GRGC website:   http://www.bggrgc.com/index.html   or contact the match director, Dan Stuart (270) 320-1191 moosedan1@att.net
  5. Allan, you are legal. We just want to eliminate mags that are cinched together or extra mags on the gun.   Mark, You gamer! No Barney mags. No more than 20 in the gun at all times, at least this is the way it was last year. I'm not getting a lot of detail from our new MD, but this is my assumption. You can get a ruling from the MD at the match if you really want to game it!

  7. Allan, Nope same address. You gonna make the rifle match?
  8. No side match this week....but....next week (Saturday) there will be a "Tactical Rifle match".   Green River Gun Club Tactical Rifle Match on June 29, 2013 8am setup, 9:30am Start 1760 Price Chapel Rd,Bowling Green, KY TWO CLASSES- OPTICS & IRON SIGHTS. SEVEN STAGES including the SHOOT HOUSE. Targets 5 to 200 yards, movement on most stages Round count approximately 160 rounds   Check website for more details:   http://www.bggrgc.com/index.html
  9. Green River Gun Club of Bowling Green KY. will be hosting an IDPA BUG match on Saturday June 22'nd.   The "BUG" matches are primarily for two purposes . . . to get experience with our Back Up Guns (BUG), and to introduce new shooters or CCW holders to shooting.   In terms of equipment and rules, a BUG match is about as easy as it gets.   You need a .32 caliber or larger Pistol or Revolver.   You only load 5 rounds per stage.  (So you don't need extra magazines or speed loaders.)   You start from "Low Ready".  (So you don't even need a holster, or to practice drawing from one.)   You only need 75 rounds.   (You'll probably need less than 50, but bring a few extra just in case a stage prop malfunctions and you need to reshoot a stage.) The targets are usually MUCH closer than the normal IDPA match.    If you've never shot anything like an IDPA or USPSA type match before . . . this is your best choice for an entry point.   You don't "have" to bring a small BackUp Gun, you "can" bring your .45 1911, or whatever . . . but even with that, you'll still only be loading to 5 rounds.  So you, and everyone else, will be "on par" with each other. Stop by and try it.  Its usually well attended.  With shooters of ALL levels.  Come see what its all about.   Setup will begin at 8am. Match will start at 9:30am. We will be shooting in squads.  Cost will be $15.   For more information go to GRGC's website:   http://www.bggrgc.com/index.html or contact the Match Director . . . Dan Stuart (270) 320-1191 moosedan1@att.net
  10. OK, it's official, there will NOT be a Kentucy state match at Green River Gun Club this year.   Maybe next year.
  11. I don't have official word yet, but I think it won't happen until next year. I'll try to get an "official" answer this weekend.
  12. On Saturday May 25'th Green River Gun Club of Bowling Green Ky. will be running an IDPA match.   Set-up at 8:00 AM, shooting starts at about 9:30 AM.   There will be a optional rifle side match after completion of the IDPA match.   There will be 5 stages for the IDPA match and at least 2 stages for rifle.   Stages and round count has not been posted, so bring 150 rounds pistol, and 50 rifle rounds.   The club is about 5 miles northwest of Bowling Green. There are detailed driving directions on the GRGC website.   Check the GRGC website for updates .   http://www.bggrgc.com/index.html
  13. .30 Carbine!!!! Oh Oh!! Decisions, decisions. Bring your "NEW" ear muffs, I'll be there.
  14. Hope you're feeling better. If you remember, bring King's coupon.
  15. Robert, I never got an email. I may not have put my email address on the score sheet, but I assume it is in your distribution list.
  16. Thanks for snagging my ear muffs! Robert, I'm sure they are too big for you!
  17. Robert, Another excellent match! 60 shooters! I think you may have set an attendence record. I think that's the most people I've seen at a regular club match.   Our squad ran very smooth even with HOGNUT on it. The highlight of the day, of course, was King and his flying holster! Funniest thing I've ever seen at a match.   BTW , after putting away my gear last night, my ear muffs were MIA. So, if anyone found a pair of Howard Leight Impact Sport electronic earmuff 's   with my initials (J.A.M.) scribed on them, after the rifle side match, please let me know.   See you in May.

They will include BUG and tactical rifle matches. They also shoot Cowboy action and Steel plate pistol. For more info go to their website :   http://www.bggrgc.com/
  21. I don't suppose you consider an M1 Carbine a "pistol caliber rifle"?  They're pretty hard on steel!
  22. Denny and Dan set-up another excellent match!! This was Denny's swan song, as he is giving up the match director position and this is the last match at Green River for the year. He's done a super job these last 3 or 4 or 5 years. Good turnout and even though it was a little cold in the morning it turned into a beautiful day. Glad you guys could make it, see you at Dickson and/or Gallatin.
