SAT Sept 24th is the 8th annual Green River Gun Club (GRGC) Night Match. IDPA-like match using mostly IDPA rules. YOU MUST HAVE SHOT TWO OR MORE DAYLIGHT IDPA MATCHES IN ORDER TO SHOOT IN THE NIGHT MATCH. (They don't have to be GRGC matches, but we can't "train you in the dark". You must come "pre-trained" in IDPA commands/operations.) Setup 4pm. MANDATORY Shooters Meeting 6:30pm. Shoot at Dark. Categories: 1.) Hand Held Light 2.) Weapon Mounted Light (must fit in holster) 3.) Weapon Mounted Light/Laser (must fit in holster) All targets must be illuminated by the shooter's flashlight before shooting them. We will also shoot a rifle side match on stages 1, 4, and 5 after the pistol shooters on each squad has finish that stage like we have done the last few years. There there will be lots of tight shots, hard cover, and hits on non-threats for those who wish to complain, might as well start now! Five stages. Minimum round count is 68 rounds. For more information and stage descriptions, go the GRGC's website: http://www.bggrgc.com/

The Green River Gun Club (GRGC) of Bowling Green Kentucky will be hosting an IDPA BUG (back up gun) match on Saturday July 23. This match will be run using the "old BUG rules" ( 5 round strings, no reloads on the clock, no drawing from the holster, etc.) I don't have a stage or round count yet, but it will probably be 5 or 6 stages (some with multiple strings) and less than 100 rounds. You don't have to shoot a BUG, you can shoot any safe and legal IDPA handgun. You will be scored in the appropriate division. These are great matches for beginners, and/or for using that carry gun the seldom gets shot. So bring your "significant other", friend or neighbor and have some fun. Set-up at 8:00Am and shooting starts around 9:30 AM. For more information see the GRGC website: http://www.bggrgc.com/index.html

I have succumbed to the peer pressure. I blew the dust off the S&W 625 and I've renewed my classification and changed my division to REV. -

IDPA "old rules" BUG Match This Saturday April 23'rd at Green River gun club of Bowling Green KY. Green River Gun Club (GRGC) of Bowling Green Ky. will be hosting an "Old Rules" IDPA BUG match ( 5 round strings, no reloads on the clock, no drawing from the holster, etc.) this Saturday (04/23/2016). Six stages, 50 round minimum. Set-up at 8:00 am, shooting at 9:30. These matches are great for introducing new shooters to competitive shooting, or give old (experienced) shooters to get their "significant other", neighbors and/or friends out to the range. They also make a great opportunity to shoot that carry gun that seldom gets shot. You don't have to shoot a BUG. You can shoot any safe handgun. You will be scored in whatever division handgun you bring. New shooters only need a gun, 2 magazines (one will work), 50 rounds of ammo, and a gun rug, box, holster, bag, etc. to keep the gun in when you are not shooting Also, GRGC is a cold range. Make sure when you arrive, that all firearms are unloaded until the Safety Officer gives you the "LOAD" command. More information can be found on the GRGC website: http://www.bggrgc.com/

Fun match Rick. Always a pleasure. The tunnel kicked my butt. I should have taken the procedurals. -

Great match Coop! A little bit of eveything. Lots of fun, except the"jail house" stage. I'll be seeing stripes in my sleep after screwing up that stage. Thanks for all your hard work.

Coop, will there be reloads on the clock or are you going to use the good, old school IDPA BUG rules?

Looking forward to it. We had a pretty light turn-out due to opening day, only 12 shooters, but it was a fun match and the rain held off long enough to shoot one rifle stage afterwards. We have one more match this year. This Saturday (11/28) will be an "old rules" IDPA BUG match. 5 stages with multiple strings. Min round count of 45 rounds. All 5 round strings, no reloads on the clock, and no drawing from the holster. Great for new shooters. If you can't make it this Saturday, we will look for you in March.
