  1. The new trap range at Green River Gun Club of Bowling Green Kentucky is now OPEN TO THE PUBLIC on Monday evenings. The trap range will be open to the public, throwing practice targets Monday evenings from 5:00 until 9:00 PM starting the first week of June. Cost will be $4.00 per round (25 targets) shooting both singles and handicap practice. For more information go to GRGC website: http://bggrgc.com/
  2. Sweet! Bringing anybody? Don't forget your chamber flags. I think Dan will have a few for sale at the match ($3.00), just in case.
  3. Green River Gun Club of Bowling Green KY. will be holding a Tactical Rifle Match on Saturday April 29'th. I don't have a lot of detail yet, but I'm told there will be 5 or 6 stages, 100-120 round count, maximum range about 125 yards. 8:00 am set-up, start at 9:30 am. We have extended the range behind bay 5 to 125 yards and can get about 65 yards in bay 1 and 5, if the MD's want to use it. Denny and Dan are the match directors, and GRGC will now have tactical rifle matches on the 5'th Saturday and on the 3'rd Saturday on the months with no 5'th Saturday. So, 5'th Saturday matches are in April, July, and September. The 3'rd Saturday matches are in May, June, August and October. For more information go to GRGC's website: http://www.bggrgc.com/index.html
  4. 130 miles apart, and I'm just about smack in between Manchester and Green River, so that makes them both about an hours drive, which I'll do for a local match. I'll even drive the 80 miles to Music city on occasion (not lately though). I'm just being selfish. With Gallatin gone, Manchester and Green river are my only local IDPA options. Too bad you missed the BUG match. The rain stopped before set-up and didn't start up again till we were done. Lot's of strong hand and weak hand strings, and lots of dead no-shoots.
  5. 12 hardy men showed up to shoot in the rain and it didn't rain until we were done! Most of us were more than a little miffed that the BUG's we shot lat year would not fit in the new box! A lot of guys ended up having to shoot CCP! I had to do emergency surgery to get my Ruger LCR to fit, Gerry's Glock 26 fit and Dan's J frame would not fit!
  6. I like the fact that you moved to Saturday but did you have to pick the fourth Saturday?!? The fourth and fifth Saturday is Green River Gun Club in Bowling Green!!!! The second Saturday is wide open until Gallatin Gun Club finds a new home & the first Saturday is Music City. You couldn't have picked one of those Saturdays? Come on Coop!
  7. I know of two. The AMT Automag III and the Ruger Blackhawk. The Ruger new model Blackhawk is still being offered by Ruger.
  8. Has it been 8 months?!? Some of us have crawled out of our caves. M1 carbine caliber is .30 carbine. 110 grain at 1990 fps ( roughly 220 PF). It's either a really hot pistol round or a really weak rifle round.
  9. Is the Defensive Carbine & Action Pistol Society rule book out yet? It's March. Is my M1 carbine legal?
  10. Another great match Robert! I always enjoy shooting my M1 carbine ( and annoying Mark). It ran great, even with 30 round mags. Thanks for letting me shoot it ( and annoying Mark).
  11. Last month you complained about the compensator on my AR. This match I bring a quiet little M1 carbine and you whine about being pelted with brass. Never happy!
  12. I may be shooting 2 guns then.
  13. I don't suppose my M1 Carbine qualifies as a PCC ?
  14. I hate plumbing issues, but I know a couple of good plumbers. I couldn't make it either. The wife wrenched her knee and can't bear weight on it, so I'm house bound until she recovers. Don't forget next Saturday is the last match of the season at Green River and it will be an "old rules" BUG match.
  15. Match director "Evil Mike" has put together 4 stunning stages for this Saturday's ( 11/19/2016) IDPA match at Green River Gun Club (GRGC) in Bowling Green Kentucky. 68 rounds minimum. A 2 or 3 stage rifle side match will be held after the IDPA match. Set-up at 8:00 AM, shooting at 9:30 AM. For more information, go to GRGC's website: ...
  16. Great match Robert, and squad 2 was excellent. Everybody helped out and enjoyed themselves. It was a pleasure to shoot with them.
  17. Thanks to all who participated in the match. All the proceeds from this match will go to Toys for Tots. The scores are now posted on the Green River Gun Club website: http://www.bggrgc.com/results/IDPA.html Two more IDPA matches are on the schedule for November. A regular IDPA match with a rifle side match and another BUG match. These will be the last matches for the year. We will start back up in the spring.
  18. Per "Evil Mike", the match director, this BUG match will be run under the "old" IDPA BUG rules using 5 round strings, so those 5 shot revolvers will be competitive.
  19. The Green River Gun Club (GRGC) of Bowling Green Kentucky will be hosting an IDPA BUG (back up gun) match on Saturday October 29. 5 stages and 50 rounds minimum You don't have to shoot a BUG, you can shoot any safe and legal IDPA handgun. You will be scored in the appropriate division. These are great matches for beginners, and/or for using that carry gun the seldom gets shot. 5 or 6 round strings, no reloads on the clock, no drawing from the holster, etc. So bring your "significant other", friend or neighbor and have some fun. Set-up at 8:00Am and shooting starts around 9:30 AM. For more information see the GRGC website: http://www.bggrgc.com/index.html
  20. Great shooting with your carbine! I'm pretty sure you would have beat your little brother.
  21. Scores are now posted in the GRGC website. http://www.bggrgc.com/results/IDPA.html
  22. Much thanks to you and Darrin for all your help with our squad, even though Darrin gave me an FTDR on stage 1!!!
  23. Don't forget Green River Gun Club in Bowling Green KY. I know it's not in middle Tennessee, but it's close. We shoot IDPA on the 4'th Saturday and Tactical Rifle on the 5'th Saturday. September 24'th will be the 8'th annual "IDPA Like" Night shoot. See website for more info: http://www.bggrgc.com/
  24. Bummer! Make sure Walt comes. If we get enough seniors we can put together a "Soggy Bottom Boys" squad.
