  1. I'm going to do some rough guesses based off the numbers given. 740 mil for the project to power 43,000 homes. Comes out to a rough cost of 17,210 per home. If I assume an average electric bill of 1,400 per year (which may be low out west, I have no idea) you have each home paying back only the initial cost of the project in 12.29 years. Which, as I understand solar technology, is approaching the time that you need to start replacing and upgrading the panels. These numbers don't even factor in the costs of staffing and running the operation. And I won't even begin to guess on the true cost of the plan, I think we have all seen the .gov's 740 mil turn into well over a billion dollar project.    I understand the need for someone to invest in this technology to begin to make it more viable, but a project of this size seems to be a full blown leap into the deep end. Especially when the advances in Natural Gas are so much easier for us to switch to right now. I would like to see more real research into fracking, the true effects on the environment, and see how what processes and technologies we could use to extract the gas safely. Natural Gas could very well be the next energy revolution in this country.    Solar could very well be a piece of the energy puzzle one day, I just don't think it's quite there yet.
  2. The S&W will be a great rifle for you. I picked up a Sport right before everything went nuts and it has been great.
  3. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323951904578290460073953432.html     Succinct, clear, to the point. I like it. It is probably one of the best pieces out of the MSM I have read so far.
  4. Have you checked out Maxpedition's stuff? I think they make something that's right down this alley.
  5. This has been my favorite band for a few years now. Great, unique sound,  they are out of Bloomington, IN and the cello player is smoking hot too!
  6. I really need to get on this. The last thing I really, really want that I don't have is a Garand. Is it worth the drive to Anniston these days or should I just order online and hope for the best?
  7. Can't hit this too many times these days.
  8. Or people are finally starting to run out of money/just got their credit card statement from last month.
  9. I really like this idea. This is the kind of common sense compromise that will most likely never get talked about though. Sadly, it seems we have been backed  into an all or nothing scenario due to repeated encroachments on the Second Amendment. I wish one of our elected officials had the gumption to stand up and call the gun grabbers out on what they are really saying right now. They are essentially admitting that the 20K gun laws already on the books are ineffectual, and therefore need to be scrapped and re-evaluated as all they are is an infringement on a Constitutional Right with no net positive effect on society.  I wish we could start a movement to push for eradication of all existing gun laws that, by gun grabbers own defacto admission recently, have had no effect in deterring crime or mass murderers. Then we could all start over with true common sense proposals like this.
  10. Yes. Sir.
  11.     The GT folks do not own the Quik Cash pawn shop. They just worked out a deal to help out with all the TN residents that shop there as GT is literally only a few hundred yards into GA. Also, now Shooter's Depot has a store in TN and GA and will do the transfers between the two stores for you if needed.
  12. Trying out the new Chattanooga Whiskey as I watch the game. Pretty good!
  13. I wanna sign up just cause of how awesome that commercial was.
  14. I only love this a whole, whole lot!
  15. The other thing to note about those stats would be the way they are reported. I would suspect that there are a large number of homicides in many of the countries listed above the U.S. that do not get reported. I have been to Honduras several times and even at number one on that list I believe that number to be low for the reality of that country.
  16. Just when you think you're getting a feel for this place...something like this pops up and totally proves me wrong. That is too good. Oh man, some people's kids.
  17. This just makes me sad.
  18. Well done indeed. Makes me want to attend my next city council meeting.
  19. Nice. I always liked that guy, now I know why!
  20. Article 1   Section 26. That the citizens of this state have a right to keep and to bear arms for their common defense; but the Legislature shall have power, by law, to regulate the wearing of arms with a view to prevent crime.     Just in case anyone else here wants to send  a reminder of what our great State's Constitution says to your Mayor.
  21. I thought that too David. Then again, I'm not so sure this guy wasn't planted there with his not so subtle Guthrie reference and the fact that we all know there is no AK 15.
  22. Found it on google awhile back. Glad I did.
  23. Sorry to hear it. I have two great dogs that mean the world to me and I dread the day I have to let them go.
  24. I've been guiding on that river since 98. If you have any questions or concerns just let me know. I'd be glad to help.
