Not a true 'Makarov' but along those lines the first thing that came to my mind when reading your 'specs' for a new gun was a CZ-82. As you list a .380 as one of your carry guns, I assume you would be okay with the 9mm Makarov ballistics. They aren't as inexpensive as they once were but you could still probably pick up a pair of them for your $500 budget - maybe with enough left for a box or two of ammo. Only problem is, 9mm Makarov ammo (like most ammo) is a bit difficult to find, right now. I don't think I could pocket carry my 82 but in a home-made, leather belt slide holster it carries easily OWB with a cover garment. With 12+1 capacity and a spare mag, it is my usual 'step up' from my S&W 642 when I want something with a higher ammo capacity. They have a fairly nice trigger too. Makes for a good excuse to get a C&R license. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 2

Good call on Ooma. I've been using it daily (work at home) for 2+ hours every day. Works great and dirt cheap. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 2

If anyone is interested in picking up a Zero Tolerance 0350, I found a super sale going on for em right now (at least I think it's a killer deal). http://www.usamadeblade.com/Zt-0350-ZT0350.htm Coupon code "August" at checkout brings the price down to $103 and some change including shipping. Just passing it along in case anyone is in the market.

I keep a couple spare pair of glasses from 39dollarglasses.com with my gear. A pair of regular glasses and a pair of sunglasses in my prescription. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 2

I feel your pain. $3,000 deductible then insurance pays 90% after that. I deposit 3K/yr out of my paycheck into the HSA on top of what I pay for the plan premium. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 2

I was recently gifted a new M&P 9mm Compact and needed a holster. I've used a number of holsters over the years and decided to try something unique (which usually ends up in me buying something terrible). In this case, I made a great decision. I picked up an 'original' holster from N82 (er, N8^2) Tactical (n82tactical.com). It's an IWB holster made with a combination of neoprene and leather. I'm here to tell you it is the most comfortable IWB rig I've tried to date. The backing gives easily when you reach to unholster the firearm allowing an easy full grip on the gun when grabbing it from the holster. I wasn't sold on the single-clip design. I've had similar models like that before (High Noon Split Decision, I believe) and found it to be a tad unbalanced. This one seems to work rather well. The only downside is, with the original model, you can't reholster one-handed. They do have a professional model that uses kydex (I assume) for a specific gun mold that would make single handed reholstering no problem. The original version ($39+$3 shipping as of right now) is plenty good enough for me. There's also a tuckable version of similar design. Such a simple design, but dang if it isn't the most comfortable thing I've tried...

Now I know where your username comes from. :D I just flew from KNX to Denver and back on an EMB ERJ. Not sure if it was a 135 or 145 at the moment.

Thank you all. I appreciate it!

After six years of school, I just submitted my last assignment to fulfill the requirements for a Master's Degree in Information Systems Business Intelligence. What a strange feeling! No more homework, no more (school) deadlines. I'm..done. I've been working in the BI field for a while now, but to be done with the degree is just...something. Not sure I even know how to describe the feeling, but I wanted to share with my fellow TGOers.

I work with a team of folks from across the country and I'm often asked why I don't move away from the "podunk" town in East TN. They just don't get it. No place I'd rather be. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 2

The CZ82 is a fine weapon. I've had one for a long time and it only started to fail me when it needed a spring change. New springs and it has been flawless since. Good find and still worth it at today's prices. The only downside to the 82 is the less than stellar factory finish. I used mine as my first Duracoat project to solve that problem. First open carry at Walmart - New yearly tradition!

Actually, I don't think that's too uncommon. What they can/should have is not the same as what you should have. They're entitled. -
No doubt. Spots is the man! Always glad to pass on his skills to others and lend a hand when needed.

No special laws concerning minors that I'm aware of. My son carries a Victorinox everywhere except school. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 2

That is amazing. Congratulations Volzfan! Ah, six figures. I got that, if you count decimal places. :D

This. Not everything revolves around fuel mileage. Sometimes things are fun, and that costs money, and it's worth it. No different than going to the movies or buying a new video game. Congrats on the truck! Exactly. I bought a Jeep JK when I was commuting 100 miles/day round trip. Practical or cheap to feed? Not really. Tons of fun? Absolutely! Congrats on the awesome vehicles! Sounds like my day today. . Sewer line busted 4ft from where it enters the house and the "waste water" is pouring back into my basement. Ugh. Dug it up this afternoon. A good foot long crack in the pvc pipe. Gonna try to get it fixed tomorrow. Good luck with the water heater, David.

I've yet to ever get mine to shoot more than a couple rounds at a time. The trigger "sticks" rearward and fails to reset. I've tried new springs and even replaced the entire hammer assembly "unit".. no joy. The trigger "bar" slides down the spring as designed but doesn't return properly. I removed the safety to make certain it wasn't interfering. Frustrates the heck outta me since it's such a simple design. No idea what else to do..so it sits in my safe for now.

Well... I've owned XD (45C), XD(m) (3.8 45), and M&P (FS 9mm). I can understand your problem! I wouldn't be concerned at all about the failure to go into battery on the M&P when riding the slide home. That's really a non-issue and quite common among a variety of guns. They're just not meant to work that way. Personally, I'd keep the M&P for the +2 rounds and night sights if all other factors were equal. Tough choice though since they're both solid firearms with a good track record. Oh, and you're supposed to be a TGO Benefactor before you offer stuff up for sale/trade here. Here's a link for that: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/store/product/2-premium-membership-6-months/ Not that I'm the forum police or anything, just figured I'd mention it. Good luck with your decision!

What he didn't say is that he drilled it wrong on purpose so he'd have good reason not to sell that one. :D

Ouch.

The more expensive ones may be a bit lighter. . That said, I run the cheap ones and I've never had an issue or reason to consider upgrading to something more expensive.
