I'd describe it by saying it feels "snappy" when shooting like most smaller 9mm weapons. Not harsh or difficult to handle by any means. We're all different when it comes to perceived recoil, so YMMV.

That's a fair price in my opinion. I haven't owned one, but I have shot one before. Very nice gun. They were designed to compete with the likes of the KelTec PF9. The Kahr fit and finish is far beyond the PF9s (I did own a PF9..ugly but reliable) Id recommend it as a good option based on my limited time shooting one. I'm sure someone that has more trigger time with them will chime in with their thoughts.

Concealed carry holsters for a 1911 government model? any recommendations.
jcj replied to Will Carry's topic in Handguns
I can't imagine a full size 1911 being too concealable when carried OWB. Maybe I haven't seen the right holster.. I'm sure it can be done, just maybe not on me. When I carry my 1911 I use a kholster IWB. Cheap and ugly, but effective. I'm not much help I suppose, but let us know what you end up with. I may try OWB carry if the right holster exists. -
Looks great. Gotta love an affordable and fun gun.

I just received his email about an hour ago. I imagine he hasn't had a chance to update (or have someone update) his site. It may have been something else that got him in trouble with PP, I don't know. I was just echoing the reasoning supplied with his email regarding the refund I was issued. I know it is common practice for many holster makers to accept Paypal. I've bought a few that way in the past. There could be more to it than what I was told, but I suppose the details are none of my dang business either. :-)

I'm not sure if anyone here is familiar with DCT's Comfort Carry Holsters (made by Rob Durham) or not, but I thought I'd pass some info along regarding Rob's business since it could impact other holster makers. All customers that placed an order recently have been refunded their money via Paypal. According to the email I received from Rob, Paypal used their anti-gun policies to shut down his account. He has refunded everyone with pending orders and is looking to set up a merchant account elsewhere. In the meantime he is accepting checks/money orders. The reason I'm passing this along is in case this is the beginning of a PayPal crackdown on holster makers who accept Paypal as a form of Payment. Maybe, maybe not..but I thought it was worth mentioning. A Google search revealed no complaints regarding his business practices, so I tend to believe it is Paypal bullying at work here.

I want to attend one of these TGO shoots at Norris. I'd like to meet some of you all. The only people here I know are Phantom6 (since I'm in his shop spending money all the time) and vontar. I'm off work every Friday. What's the annual cost for the Norris range this year? The only time I've been there was to shoot my HCP qualification in February.

WWB 45 value packs are 34.95 at the Jacksboro WM. Federal 9mm is 9.96/50 Not much better, but a few $$ cheaper if you're ever up here. I bought 1 box of 45 the other day. I reload and some of my brass is starting to reach the end of its serviceable life. That 100rd box will give me 100 rounds to shoot and 100 pieces of brass to reuse for a while.

Yeah, guess I should kill the default tapatalk signature.

Oh, my reason for the "not seeking legal advice" comment was not due to any of the replies. I just wanted to relieve anyone from having to include an "I'm not a lawyer, but..." in replies. My apologies if it came across any other way. Sent from my SPH-M900 using Tapatalk

Considering the economic times and difficulty finding employment, I probably won't be the one to test the the meaning of that policy. I just found the wording of the policy of interest. My life is worth more than my job, but I also know I need my paycheck to provide for my family. Sent from my SPH-M900 using Tapatalk

Yeah, definitely a loaded question. Not seeking legal advice from the forum, but it certainly seems open to....interpretation. :-) I thought it was interesting enough to share and spark some discussion. Sent from my SPH-M900 using Tapatalk

So, my employer is being bought out by another company. We've always had a very strict no weapons anywhere on the property notice in the handbook. I got a sneak preview of the new company's employee handbook and it says (under prohibited actions): Possessing firearms or other weapons in or on any (company) property, including company owned vehicles, except as otherwise permitted under state or local law. My interpretation of this is concealed carry is OK with a HCP as it is considered "permitted under state or local law". Thoughts? Sent from my SPH-M900 using Tapatalk

You're right.. Endless possibilities. That's what makes it fun! I just started reloading not too long ago and I just purchased my second kind of powder. I was using Unique for 45ACP, but I just bought a lb of AA#5. Haven't shot any yet, but I have found that it meters very accurately in a Lee Perfect Powder Measure where Unique is +/- 0.2gn typically. I want to get a chronograph so I can see what the loads are actually doing in my gun. How they "feel" and perceived accuracy can only tell you so much. One suggestion I have is this: Write everything down when you work up a load. Bullet, powder, any performance notes. That way after you have tried dozens of combinations you can go back and see what worked best for you and your guns. Reloading really seems to be an entirely separate hobby within the shooting sports. I'm certainly enjoying it. Sounds like you are as well!

The XD45 Compact is my carry gun about 80% of the time. Never had a failure in about 800 rounds. Well, there was one FTE when I let a buddy shoot it, but he was limp wristing it. In my hands it has never failed to go bang. Nice mag options included too. 10rnd for compact grip and a 13 round with an extension. I actually like the G36 but I haven't had the opportunity to shoot one. Sent from my SPH-M900 using Tapatalk

Sonny's BBQ in Knoxville is one of my favorites. If I recall the manager (owner perhaps?) is a TGOer. Sent from my SPH-M900 using Tapatalk
