It is indeed. They have to explore in order to index all the new threads on BING. Perhaps GoogleBot will be along soon to scare off MSNBot.
  2. Welcome to TGO! Mike (aka Phantom6) is one of the supporting vendors here. I spend quite a bit of time at his shop myself. Sounds like you picked out a nice first gun. Make sure to let us know how it shoots once you have a chance to get it to the range!
  3. Thread hijacking should clearly be blamed on no specific person, but on the entire city of Memphis!
  4. I've had a Marlin 925 .22lr for a few months now. Been having fun plinking with iron sights, but I think its time to add an affordable scope. I've been looking at the Barska 4x32 "Plinker-22". Seems to be affordable at around $30 and adequate for plinking. Anyone have one of these scopes? Anything else worth considering in that price range? This is the model I've been considering: http://www.amazon.com/Barska-AC10039-BARSKA-Plinker-22-Riflescope/dp/B001JJCHX4
  5. I'm interested in this thread.. I wonder how long it will take this to become a HiPoint bash fest? I'll say this: If I could afford nothing easier to carry (note I didn't say "better"), I'd carry one. I would have no problem with using one for range plinking or even a car/truck gun. I've shot two HiPoints and they both launched lead projectiles at the target with reasonable accuracy. I actually kind of want one of the 995 carbines in 9mm (or 45ACP if they're ever released).
  6. I missed the first season of this somehow, but I am enjoying this season. The drama is useless, but the situations are real enough to make me think about how I would handle things.
  7. I received that exact response. I imagine nothing will come of it, but it couldn't hurt to let them know that they're losing customers over this decision.
  8. I'll never understand the mindset of a thief. What part of just taking someone's property that you have no claim to is acceptable? I just don't see how anyone can be "ok" with stealing. I guess I was just taught to treat everyone (and their property) with respect. Someone stole the bicycle I "grew up with" from my house one time. An old and rusting childs bike, worth nothing to anyone but me for sentimental reasons. I didn't mean for this post to be a rant, but thievery upsets me. Hope you recover your property.
  9. Dont know too many details on this, but.. A friend of mine works in HR at a local Knoxville business. She asked me if I knew anyone with a computer science background (some familiarity with accounting is a plus). The job sounds like a basic software support helpdesk position. I thought I'd ask here and maybe help a fellow TGO'er if I can. Shoot me a PM if interested.
  10. TGO David, this could be a new source of income for TGO. $5 per name change.
  11. It wouldn't be TGO if the thread didn't deviate into something unrelated to the OP. Almost time for someone to make a derogatory comment about Memphis.
  12. I hear it used frequently where I live (LaFollette) but I've never heard anyone in Knoxville reference "supper." Always found the different language usage between home and work interesting. Rural area vs Knoxville and separated by only 40 miles or so. Even accents sound more "country" up here than they do in Knoxville.
  13. The PF9 was brutal to shoot to me for some reason. Not necessarily "painful" but just not fun. Had a slightly larger Taurus 709 Slim that seemed much more controllable.
  14. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the MTAC. The holster does a good job of distributing weight.
  15. That's a fine little .22. The ex wife has one in pink. Make sure to break it in with some high velocity ammo. After a couple hundred rounds it should run fine on the cheaper stuff (if it doesn't already).
  16. Now that's some funny stuff right there..
  17. Not to mention if you drop it in the lake or otherwise "misplace" it, it won't cost a fortune to replace.
  18. Yep. Worked every other weekend as a reserve officer for my county a few years back just for the sake of helping out. I'm a computer science major so it had nothing to do with my career goals, but it was a valuable learning experience.
  19. I use a Tenacious as my EDC knife. No complaints at all.
  20. Congratulations! I don't know you personally Mike, but I understand how custody situations can be. Playing Madden with my son is one of my favorite things to do. Of course I, ehum.. "let" him win. (Much easier to say than admitting defeat to a 9yr old.)
  21. At the end of the day, the alarm system itself is nothing more than a deterrent. Yes, the monitoring central station will notify authorities, but nothing will happen in time to stop a determined intruder. The signs and stickers add to the deterring effect. The 100db siren blaring at 2am won't encourage them either. Modern options for central station communication include Internet and cellular although the standard phone line connection is still the most widely used. Don't forget to send your security system certificate to your home owners insurance company. Most give a 20% discount for having a monitored system.
  22. It is my understanding that they farmed out all of the fingerprinting to another company. They give you the paperwork at the DMV and you have to register and go to one of the locations for prints to be taken.
  23. Ordered from them once. Ammo arrived quickly. No complaints.
  24. love the welcome image, Mike.
